In the past I could move IPB from subfolder to root and back if I wanted and with just a change in the url in the config file everything would work smoothly. However going from subfolder to root I noticed it kind of did it. However in the sql it still points to the subfolder but when you look at the forum, the links are as they should be. Is there a way through the sql to fix it so it's no longer pointing to the subfolder but rather the root. I noticed in SQL they still point to the old url. Right now it looks like images were affected so it appears the images were stripped from the site mainly. All folders are as they should be so I'm assuming this is an issue from what …

Hi there, As the member geolocation is a built-in feature, I was wondering if it is possible in IPS 4 to hide a forum for a specific location. For instance, if I create a forum, I would like to display it for specific countries only. If it's not a feature, is it something IPS would like to implement? Thank you

I have a required profile field that I need to have people fill out on registration. This works fine with normal sign up, but I'd like to enable Facebook/Twitter/etc registration, and noticed the only field I can have people forced to fill out is their Display Name. Is it possible to have profile fields that are set to show on registration, also show on the non-default login handler's registration page where they have to input a Display Name? Am I missing a setting somewhere?

How can I copy my existing forum and upgrade it to 4.0 Beta 3 to test? What I did: 1) created new subdomain for new forum 2) imported DB from existing forum to new DB 3) copied /public & /uploads to new subdomain 4) uploaded IPB 4 Beta 3 to new subdomain 5) uploaded conf_global.php and updated data. 6) Started update, but gives me the following error: An error occurred Location: Step 1. This is silly I installed blogs, I would expect any members to just be able to go to the blogs tab and create a blog there or in there profile page but there is no option just like any member can just go to the forums and create a post/topic So I look at permissions and I can t find a setting that allows members to create a blog I see that I can create a blog from the ACP and assign it to a member but that makes zero sense Please explain where I can enable any members from creating their own blog The Members Groups do not show blogs as an option to set permissions so I am confused only forums Thanks in advance

Why do we have to pay to change the url if it's within the same domain name? Or am I missing something. I can understand if it's a different one all together. But if it's within the same domain name?

I haven't looked at the JS side of things yet and only the templating of 4.0. That said, my new website is going to be very animated and I don't like the stock 4.0 animations on modal windows (for example when you click "Mark site as read" and I want to change that around. Is this going to be a piece of cake, or will I have to dig through tons of hoops just to make some simple changes like in 3.4.x? Just a curious if anyone knew off the top of their head, I haven't had time to do the research or investigation my self. Thanks!

I never purchased IP.Gallery. But seeing it here on this forum makes me want to purchase it when IPB4 is finally released. I honestly wish IP.Gallery would support more than just still images. If IP.Gallery was "IP.Media" instead of "IP.Gallery" supporting video uploads and embedded videos from YouTube, etc... I would purchase it in a second. I know there are some mods out there for adding a video section to the community but something as important as multimedia IMHO should be part of an IPS core product. I have a forum which I could add a lot of videos from YouTube. As it is now, I have to create a thread for each video (unless I would purchase the video portal mod).…

I don t have the Blog option yet but I want to give it to our members and the idea is that the blogs would be public to start with but I would need an option for each members to make their blog private themselves. Can this be done or are the permissions public or private for ALL? The idea is that some members would like only other members to see their blog...can this be achieved and the member be in control to toggle the privacy themselves?

Just wondering how long have to wait for next beta release as it is fine checking the front end here for bugs for IPS but we still need to check if there are any bugs in the admincp end and without a further release we are unable to which I feel doesn't help anyone at all Seems we have been waiting ages And I know all about the 'When its ready' but feel there should have been a further release before know

Hello,We just purchased IP.Gallery and I've created some albums already, however it seems the only user which can upload photos into that album is the owner. Is it possible to add user/group editors?By editors, I don't mean Moderators, I mean other users/groups which can upload photos also in that album.Basically I've made albums for the games we play in VORTEX, however I want all members in the "Clan Members" group to be able to upload their screenshots into this folder.Can this be done? Can it be a feature of IPS 4.0?Many thanks

2 quick questions as I have a 3.4.7 database that is currently utf8mb4 with the tables as utf8_general_ci - yes not ideal but trying to work out the best way to resolve. What's prefered for IPS4 - utf8mb4 or utf8_general_ci? And, what's the best way to make my database and tables the same?

Hi, IPS 4 is amazing, and i've liked it so much, especially the multilingual option in it when you create a forum and much more language option, My opinion is it'll be better if an option for topics and menus multilingual be Added in the future, for example by changing langue to kurdish all menus and topic converted to that language ...

When will the next version of the utf8-converter be released? I'm waiting for some fixes (some of the fixes I'm waiting for is not marked as fixed yet) I want to use the standalone-version as I don't want to do the utf8-conversion and a IPS 4-upgrade at the same time.

Hi Just asked some members to test ipb 4 and they cant see the button "insert other media" at the bottom right when posting, so they cant insert any video, i think this button should be in the tool bar with a youtube icon for instance so that the users understand immediately what it means
