Lets say you wanted to find all the topics that you have posted in Product Feedback. looks like it should work, but it doesn't - a search term is required. I could achieve the same result using an activity stream, but currently there is no facility to create a stream without saving it (I tend to just edit the default streams without saving, but it would be nice to be able to create a stream properly without saving it).

Unless I've missed something I can't reposition the tools to the next row unless the current row is filled up. I'd like to position the tools freely.

Hi all. I've become highly averse to using the template manager of late simply because of its awful state of usability. Being a fundamental way of controlling how site content is manipulated and indexed for users, this undermines the package at a very deep level. Do let me know if I am somehow over-reacting or missing something here....or chime in with your own comments.... I'll discuss my primary bugbear, which is the database templates....they are after all the bread and butter of a Pages-based site. groups of templates are easily created from default, but immensely tedious to delete one-by-one groups cannot be deleted en masse deleting one…

It seems the gallery has a limit of 100 images at a time to be uploaded. This is fine if it would stop you at that limit, opposed to uploading over 200+ images, pressing continue and THEN it telling you in small print about the limit... you've just wasted all that time uploading the additional images for nothing.

Currently, developer changes are posted in Contributor Chat, with only a brief summary of the change in the release notes. However, while a significant number of the people affected by the change are contributors, it is by no means everyone who is affected - there are a considerable number of developers who do so for their own sites, without ever uploading anything to the marketplace, which means that they don't get to see the details of the changes until the update is released. This means that they are unable to upgrade their site until they have updated their applications, which, for the majority of updates which also happen to be security releases, is not good. I …

Thank you for partially decoupling dates from the locale in 4.1.12. It's a great help, particularly to me, who would like to move to CiC but can't because his locale isn't available. I might just get there! Would it be possible to extend this also to Calendar? Thanks!

Your team has its own corporate undestanding of what the bug is. On the example of 2 obvious security breaches which were not considered the bugs.

Hi, I requested a dedicated IP address with SparkPost, as the IP addresses they use are frequently added to blacklists such as SORBS.net, and out install ends up not being able to send emails to some domains, in particular hotmail.com, which checks the database at SORBS.net. However, I've just learned that we are still not using this feature, as all API requests must include the ID of our "private IP pool". The instruction they sent me are below, it seems pretty straight-forward, but this requires you to add a field in the SparkPost configuration for us to enter the ID of our private IP pool, and this ID to be added to the API requests. I sent this messa…

There's a sales question that's been sitting, unanswered, since Monday: I replied on Tuesday, but it looks like IPS aren't going to approve my response. It's a shame, because I have a lot of faith in the IPS team, I admire IPS4 as a platform, and I want it to succeed... but at this point, anyone looking to IPS4 as a robust - or really even basic - blogging platform, should probably look elsewhere. I think IPS should just own this reality and lay out some basic plans for improvement, chief among them support for categories and for blog-specific sidebar blocks/navigation and for a blog homepage that isn't just a giant list of blogs but actually has some rudimenta…

Hello, would it be possible to implement a usergroup based admin option if posted links in "status updates" were shown as a parsed & clickable link? We use the feature status updates not as "Whats on your mind". We have renamed this function to "Important News". Ordinary the group "users" should can post NEWS without parsed links, but "admin, mods & users+" should can post clickable links. Maybe an option for a further update? THX in advance Tigerhome.de

This was talked about here: Basically the ability to have custom made ratings created by the board owner/admins. You can make a rating count for either positive or negative rep and decide which rating buttons appear in which forum/area. Basically the new way facebook is doing it with Happy, Sad, Angry, and so forth.

In IPB 3.4.X you could promote a forum post as an article in the moderator actions, however I am not seeing this feature in 4.0.X. How can I promote a forum submission as an article?

Honestly, I don't know if this needs much explaining. Many users are using 3rd party services like CloudFlare & sucuri, or other reverse proxy services. The main reason due this, is to 'Hide' the backend server IP Address from attacks such as DDoS, or Rooting. However, IPS is actually exposing the backend IP Address in multiply ways for users like me. Here are some ways that are leaking the IP Address on IPS 3.4: Inputting a IP Logger URL, as Avatar URL (There is no option to disable this). Inputting a IP Logger URL, as Signature image (There is no way to 'proxy' the image check on a remote server) Using Image Proxy (There is …

Hi One thing I find restrictive which I would like to see change is the Block Manager Widget areas at the top and the bottom of the forum areas or page. It would be good to have the option to configure that area to be perhaps split down the middle to be two or three areas for blocks that are side by side. so that when adding custom blocks you could have a few different things across there rather than just one underneath the next on top of each other as they currently are. Thanks

Please allow moderators or selected members to moderate chat messages in Chat. For the life of me I cannot figure out why it wasn't a function to begin with.

My 3.4 to 4.1 upgrade wasn’t a walk in the park. It took me weeks to test everything, solve problems, redo all my IP.Content templates and so on. But now the new site is online and I switched from shared hosting to a managed server at the same time. The site is now running better then ever and despite the expected “getting used to new and changed features” complaints, the users really love it. One just wrote and many agreed: This is the most user-friendly and modern forum that I know! It’s really fun! I just wanted to pass this on to IPS, since while directed at me, that quote reflects IPS’ achievements, not mine.

My Migration is one that is depending and the staff have been amazing at accommodating all my questions/requests. I've done several test imports of a 6 million post forum and it takes way too long. I wouldn't object to seeing a CLI Converter in the future for much bigger communities.

If you open the PM dropdown to view previous sent PMs, then send a PM using the Message button on a user's hovercard, the PM dropdown cache is not invalidated, so the user can't review the sent PM without refreshing the page or clicking "go to inbox", which, in the case that triggered this, led the user to think that they couldn't see the PM at all until the other user replied. If you listened for the submit event on the PM submit form, and ran $(document).trigger("clearUserbarCache", {type:'inbox'}); that would make it reload next time the messages dropdown is opened, leading to a better UX.

Will there be a fix for this bug before the next release? I presume the fix will come with a database update to correct all of the broken mentions that continue to be added. Thanks

https://developers.google.com/google-apps/realtime/overview I'm not sure what you guys could do with this but there's probably something. Would be interesting to see how these APIs could be used in IPS.

Hello, what our moderators are mssing and what they expect for the next update (or the one after): If a user reports some content all moderators are informed and not only the ones that are in charge of the forum / message It would be a great help to have the reported content and the text of the message in the report mail so that the mod has an idea of the severrity of the meassge without opening the forum first The mod panel does not show the context of the report but only the report itself. More information at a glance would be helpful There is no sign on an already reported content as ist was in 3.x In addtion we are missing an …

Why can user like posts even if they haven't accepted an old warning? They can't post anything unless they have accepted a warning. That's perfect. But from my point of view this behaviour should also be active for likes. Please implement this.
