Dear IPS / Developers, It would be nice if you had built into the plugin / application requirements that there would be Notes/FAQ about the plugin/application so end users can reference directly from there site more details without having to look at the installer go else where for more information.

Something that should be very simple to do or change for any admin and yet IPS makes a complete and utter hash out of it....... is Dates and Times. I have never known any Forum or CMS that makes users just through hoops to setup what should be something simple. I don't want to edit language strings, I don't want Short dates, Long Dates, Dates with the Year missing or USA specific dates. To make matters worse, Dates and Times across applications don't even show the way you want them or are shown inconstantly. This could be pretty helpful for databases with a large number of categories and subcategories. By collapsible I mean in the hierarchy of the categories within the block itself. Being able to pin some open would be a super bonus. Just a thought.... Thanks, JM

Hi, We are having trouble sorting by custom field date when we have a db with different range of dates.... After wasting a lot time with support, I've asked a senior developer to take a look at what happens, he checked and said you have a bug on your side, when you sort by custom field type date you convert the date into timestamp and when you do the actual sorting you treat the values of the dates as "string" instead of "number" and therefore the sorting looks wrong/disordered.... when you work with dates from 2010+ you'll hardly notice this bug, but when you work on a wider range of records dates you see the problem occurs.... I am not sure exactly what it is but the forum tree in the ACP is hyper sensitive to dragging & dropping. I have on occasion had jumped in very quickly to move some things around and with out realizing it had the entire forums structure all messed up - forums moved as sub forums and unrelated forums in other categories. And there isn't an easy way to restore the forum orders. The ability to drag and drop is great but for some reason even toggling the disclosure triangle can sometimes adversely reorder the category up or down. Is it the libraries that is being used? should there be some other 'edit' mode for organization? perhaps unlimited undo?

Hello, I am having a hard time getting into IPB development. I am interessted in customizing easy little things for my forum, but I experienced that you are having hard times with maintaining the documentation. As business owner I know it is effort to maintain and support developers, however this is something what you also profit from. So please make sure there is just one superior documentation which is easy to find for everyone. Hello, The problem I am running into with Commerce is that we have product of "subscription" type that runs over a very specific period (calendar year), so when people "renew" at different time of year, the expiration should always be at the end of the period (it might be 12 months if they sign up on Jan 1st; it might be 6 months if they sign up on Jul 1st; etc). It would be great if the system supports these kind of time range restrictions. Also, it would be good if you can define specific periods during which the renewal product is being sold - example, put on sale only for the first 6 months of the calendar year and then hide it until the end of the year when…

Hello! Here is my problem I use tapatalk application for my forum where it asks for username and password. Everything is good, however I also have enabled so users can log in with facebook, twitter, steam and google which is a problem because this kind of applications asks for an username and password. The user does not have a password. I wrote a ticket to support to see what I could do, their response was that I could set a password for them through the ACP or they could request as they lost their password. My suggestion is simple, allow the user to set a password in their settings www.domain.com/settings/ when they don't have it

I have search disallowed for guests and come to find out that the tags pages are actually just search requests for that keyword. So it generates a url and page results. If you have search disabled for guests in the app settings, google will not be allowed to see these urls and instead see a 404. I recently converted and have 100's of tags. Google webmaster tools showed my about 1000 pages of 404's. So I allowed search for guests so that Google can see these pages for SEO/internal linking and set flood control for 25 sec for guests group. The other solution would be to enable search and then just remove the search box with some custom CSS on specific pages for guests, but …

Would be nice to have All Content (catch-all) available (and set to default) for Manage Followed Content and Reputation Activity (like it does already for our Activity on our profile, I believe it is the same menu, possibly an oversight?) I noticed that when you browse this site on a high-res monitor, all editor toolbar buttons look kind of blurry. This is on a "4K" monitor (3840x2160) with 150 % upscaling enabled (Win 10). It is even worse when you use an "8K" monitor (7680x4320).

Why such a important feature is missing in IPB4? Currently the only posssible way to warn a member is to report his post and do so through the report system or search the user through the administrator panel and warn him right there. Are there any plans to implement that or is it possible to add that feature manually? Regards

Community User Engagement Features! Just an idea i will toss out! It would be nice to have some kind of incentive to get users posting more actively. I know that in a few cases just simply providing a nudge is more than enough. So how to do that without telling users to just post more? Well you could have a page that listed a daily to do list for members, Post 10 threads, Make 30 replies...etc etc make it all configurable. And have it reset daily. This would give some users an extra reason to post, encouraging the flow of discussion! Maybe reset the daily likes if you have them limited for those that complete the to do list also?

I'm assuming this is to do with how IPB works but comparing 2010 and now in Google Analytics, my sessions and users are about the same, this is okay, however my pageviews is almost half, in 2010 I got around 1,000,000, now I get 500,000. It seems unusual considering the sessions/users in analytics being pretty consistent throughout the life of my forum, So I am wondering, is this due to something IPB has changed on how pages are loaded or similar? I mean, I am not bothered if it is, I am just curious to find out what caused it to half.

Topics and Posts widget has an option to Select Categories or a check box for Select All categories Can we put a reverse pick, if we tick on that check box, only selected categories (by me) are excluded from widget? I have many categories. On the other hand I have 2 categories (RSS feed to my board from other sites) that I DO NOT want them to show up on those widgets... Thanks

Hello, now, in IPS4, when you upload a image, a jpg, jpeg, png, gif you will get imagename.jpg as title, is it possible to remove the .jpg/png/jpeg filetype from the title?

You cache the number of topics in a forum, but not the total number of posts on the site. On large sites using InnoDB, counting the total number of posts takes a long time (like over a second). IIRC, it was cached in 3.4, and it really should be cached in 4 as well.
