I came up with the idea to add an e-mail domain check using e.g checkdnsrr What do you think about it? It would reduce the number of bots and users who type email address with a domain that does not exist.

Hi! The users on our website running IPS forum noticed during this weekend that when entering a users message thread in the forum inbox, it does not scroll down to the bottom(latest message) like it used to. So you have to scroll down manually. It seems the inbox on invisioncommunity.com does the same. I did just update the forum to the last stable version this Friday. So it has probably started since then. Is it an undescribed feature or a bug? Please help! <3

I'm talking about email marketing! Currently I feel that either the opt-in field in the registration process or in the notification settings "send me news and informations" (formerly known as: allow emails by admin) for bulk emails is taking a backseat in the functional (permission) priority. Most are minor UIX Copy Clubs -- Please give admins the ability to copy a club in the ACP > Club list. I need to make 40 clubs all with the same settings and nodes. Join Public Club -- How do I make myself a member of a public club? How do I follow a public club? As a potential bug, I created a public club then changed ownership to another user. It shows me as a member. In other public clubs that I did NOT create, I'm not a member. It's inconsistent. Sidebar - I think you need a function for users to join / not join a Public Club for it to appear in My Clubs. FostersJ

There has always been something about this side block that just never feels right. The second you click on the section it disappears and no context in the "hierarchy" of where you came from. Especially if you don't have 'sub-categories' I would rather have some kind of progressive tree disclosure or something similar to how the selection box is on the forums Fluid view.

Heyo My users often use special characters in the display name. My forum is in Polish, so letters with litte tails like "ąśłćżźłęęąźćłę" are normal. I know there is a setting called "Allowed characters in display names" but it is too restrictive. Is there a chance to add a "Disallowed characters in display names" field? That would make things easier.

In the main search option there should be a way to include archived posts which will search the archive table. Users may wish to do historical research but would never be able to find a post from years ago if they have been archived. I would like to archive topics from along time ago but can't because i got flack when i turned it on.

So I have noticed if you are following a forum and new post is entered via an RSS feed you will not be notified of this new post. I have spoken to support and they state this is correct. Not sure what the reason is for this but it would be nice to be notified so that I can use that information elsewhere instead of having to log back in all the time or have another service watch this for me like Zapier.

It's nice to have a powerful system like databases in pages. Given, I guess not very uncommon, I would like to move big parts of the forum into a database I am lost because the "move topics to database" lacks some functionality. An example what I'd like to do: Moving some thousands topics including posts to a database to setup a review area. Right now I have to move every single topic to the database, one by one, after I have to change the date of all posts in the sql database by hand because the original date is replaced by the date the topic gets moved from forum to database. Btw. all given reactions are lost when you move topics to pages. …

Gallery hard-coded to accept all image-based formats, even if I don't want certain file types like GIF. One normal GIF file of a 3-second motion can be multiple megabytes, so I'd like better control over file types in gallery.

Hi I think the whole left side menu when viewing Manage Followed Content block on the left side is wrong, it appears important things like Forums/Topics are not at the top or default when you browse into there. Ideally we should be able to set this order but in the interim moving forums stuff to the top would help with the default being Topics imo. I may have missed a way to configure this though. It just seems terrible to have it all the way down the list at the bottom.

When moderators take action on a report, they are able to leave a note to moderators and the person on the receiving end of the action. The person who made the report does not receive anything, requiring moderators to start a PM conversation. It would allow for a more efficient process, and better user experience, if the reporter could be informed at the time a report is closed out (i.e., no action), or if specific action was taken (perhaps a third text box on the warn screen).

During last month I upgraded my main website to work with Clubs. I waited more than 6 months in order to give time to everybody to test their features, their widgets, their code etc. The outcome is not what I expected since most of the widgets and applications were not ready to fully work with clubs. Not only clubs changed the user's experience on my website, also changed many things internally and sadly I had to drop a few features that were necessary. Not complaining !! These are facts. From all my widgets and/or applications that deal with forums, only 2 of them were ready to work with forums in clubs. Others were updated in the last minute. Others don't work…

At least once a week someone mistakenly reports content on our site. Sometimes it's multiple times a week. Could you add an option to make the report REQUIRE a reason, or some form of validation? Right now there isn't any requirement that a reason be given and people often fumble through the process.

Nginx just released http/2 server push, and with apache supporting it, it would be great to have an option to add the Link header for preloading static assets. On some pages, for example Payment Methods in commerce, if you successfully add an IPN, and go immediately to add another without clicking off it will not work. The donation page header is a bit too close on the default theme, compared to the other pages with the same header. The way that the view latest comment links work at the moment seems very inefficient to me (and also messes with google analytics page view stats etc), as it redirects twice before reaching the page. There must be a better way to do this? The ability to run a forum or all forums by reputation would be really handy. Making reputation and the leaderboard something that doesn't feel like an afterthought. It also would allow users to curate what they did and didn't like which in turn give new users a better overall experience. Imagine it like reddit where you can up/downvote posts. Similar to what has been done with the question and answer forum type except with a focus on reputation that can be seen in the topic list. I've seen mods for the functionality for older versions of IPS but nothing for 4.

I have a place for white papers (PDFS) in my marketplace (downloads) is there a way to auto assign a generic Screen shot/icon for these documents? Or some how get the first page as a image? IF it currently doesn't exist a nudge to add it in a future version or a third party add-on.

I don't use the gallery on my site but just looking at coming features - noticed a lot of really long file names. Is there some 'logic' that can detect such names that would require poster to editing them or perhaps push the file name as meta data (visible to poster) and require user to add a descriptive filename. Or always rename the file to a standard IPS naming convention - YYYYMMDD_MEMBERID_SEQUENCENUMBER.EXTENSON

Hi, In IPB 3.4 you had the following setting: Number of days worth of posts to (un)approve Enter the number of days worth of posts that flagging a member as spam unapproves (if set above). Enter 0 to select all posts. Could this setting either be brought back or could you alternatively introduce some other means of requesting additional confirmation from the administrators that use this button on certain members?
