Hello I would like to do a recommendation about the scenario that a user would like to change his password. It will be great if we can have as an option in Admincp the change password using email. So when a user goes to his control panel and he like to change his password to get an email that he must click on it to get the final prompt for the new password... Like when a user clicks to forgot my password..... Thank you

1) I like it. 2) They end up doing the captcha on the post page, and the fill in your details page. That seems rude. 3) Would be helpful if language could be changed on the validation and details page: "Click the button below to validate your account and display your pending posts. " or similar 4) Eventually I think we should be collecting all details on the post page. You're already getting email address, you just need a username and password. Or even automatically generate those and send out an email with details? 5) Are there stats for us on how often this feature is being used? Can we see 'pending' posts anywhere? Please refer to the attached combi-pic. As shown although the 'Start New Topic' button shows for a guest/visitor, there are no selectable forums for them to actually post into since the Pre-Sales forum went on a vacation. 🙂 Thanks. Thanks. Logic clearly says that said button should not show or be grayed out if there's nowhere for it to be used. 😀

I have a post feed block configured to display content from only selected Forums. This works well and keeps admin chat (in private areas) out of the feed block (even if members without permission wouldn't see it anyway). I've recently been looking at configuring the feed so that general content that isn't available to Guests shows up in the Post Feed, as an incentive for them to register. However, if I disable the 'Honor permissions' toggle, within the Post Feed block editor, then everything recent, from every Forum is displayed within the feed to Guests, even from Forums that are not on the selection list and should be private. Can you please add the ability to filter both widgets by produtcs with stock? Currently I can only select the package. Problem is that you add a product as "special", then it sells everything and keeps showing up in sidebar and people click and click and can't buy it. It would be better to be removed from viewing if it is out of stock. EDIT: I changed the widget render() on my install to get only with stock and display random products, instead of latest. Much better. Tks.

Hey guys, after moving a topic post (splitting up to a new thread) I noticed that an "Underflow exception" was logged in the system log, as the comment is of course no longer available in the original thread. Probably due to a webcrawler looking for that comment. Did anybody else notice this / had similar problems? While this is technically correct (the comment is gone for the old link) wouldn't it be better if the system somehow could "lead" users or webcrawlers to the new location of the post / comment? It isn't gone, just the location of the post changed (to a new thread). Cheers, Phil

Since I use the "new content" / content I have not read yet all the time, I sometimes want to read a topic or post without responding straight away, but do so at a later moment. However, it will be off the radar, since it is now marked "read" and will not show up in the "new content" page. Being able to mark a topic and/or post unread would be a huge improvement! thanks for your consideration, Ronald

I upgraded from v3 to v4 (test upgrade to see how it goes). The upgrade itself was done fairly quickly but the issue is the post-upgrade tasks. I have a board with 2.5 million posts and 20.000 members. It's running on a dedicated server and it's the only site on the server. It took more than 7 days for the post-upgrade tasks to finish (post conversion and other stuff). This is totally unacceptable. The main reason is the script converts 50 posts at a time. I can understand this is reasonable for smaller forums but with 2.5 million posts? Come on. My server was idling when it could do the job much faster. In those 7 days most posts and quotes were broken. I…

After upgrading to 4.4.2, poll votes no longer shows up in the activity streams. At first I thought this was a bug caused by myself, but after investigating, I found that the language string for this activity is removed. I then checked the release notes, and found this in the release notes for 4.4.0, under "Core - Search & Activity Streams": There is nothing in the release notes for 4.4.1 or 4.4.2 indicating a change. Is this done on purpose, or is it a nasty bug that must be fixed ASAP at all costs?

I'm upgrading a big board from 3.4.9 to 4.4.2 and I got on large tables, like POSTS: It's running for almost one hour and I have no way to know if it stopped or if it's running because the 0 (zero) always remains there and the % doesn't change either. It should update the number of rows already converted and/or the %. Tks. ---------------------------------------

It'll be good if the members have the option to choose the time format they want and not the format we choose for everyone, such as 24 or 12 hours or just am/pm. this options is a basic setting in allot of other forum softwares, including even the discontinued one i used before switched to IPB almost 13 years ago, and i still get requests for this from my members

In the AdminCP, this option naturally makes sense. However, it's a bit off and confusing for the end member to provide them with both of these options, As, why would a member ever want to chose the second option over the first? Cancelling and keeping the subscription active until the end of the renewal period is what almost everyone would want, so even providing the option seems rather silly here and may lead to member frustration should they chose the second option not realizing the difference.

Our site is replete with videos (mostly webinar recordings). We have a few that are over the 511 MB size limit. My workaround is to upload those larger videos to a GoogleDrive account, and then share the link in our community. It's not ideal, but it works. (Of course one downside is that the link to the recording can then be shared outside the community ...) Is there any possibility of raising the file size limit for cloud communities? Please ?

Hello, Pages already providers pretty nice solution of managing fields permissions. However, an extra permission would be very useful, visibility of field for topic creator only and staff of course. Often while designing some app, like e.g. bug tracker there is a need of creating a private reports, visible to report creator and staff only. Such extra permission would allow us to decide whether some fields within a new record can be seen by everybody or to topic creator and staff only. Please consider that feature for nearest pages update.

I've been doing a lot of testing with S3/Cloudfront hosted files of late, trying to improve my GT Metrix Pagespeed scores. Gzipped files in particular uploaded via IPS 4.3 to S3 are flagged by GT Metrix as lacking Specify a Vary: Accept-Encoding header - The following publicly cacheable, compressible resources should have a "Vary: Accept-Encoding" header. This results in a fairly large drop in score especially if both JS and CSS files are missing these headers. Hello, I wanted to upgrade from 4.3.6 to 4.4.1. I'm happy with all speed and SEO improvements you've done. Great job IPS! On the other hand I would not have an option to search in messenger by username and lack of paypal subscription (I'm one of many that has been declined by Braintree). It stops me from update and therefore paying 95$ for service. Are you guys planning on implementing those functions back? Messenger function might be configured by settings in ACP maybe? I know you did a tremendous and awesome job with new version.

Evening! We recently had a situation in which we disallowed a member to use the private message feature for a week. In content restrictions in the ACP, we can't set a timer on that the way we can on posting content in general. We ended up having to manually disable her messenger and then turn it back on when the time came. A couple of us could swear we used to be able to plug in a restriction for PMs with a restore date, but it wouldn't be the first thing either of us misremembered. 😉 If this could be added in a future iteration, we'd appreciate it. A very simple but really needed is toggles support for Pages fields. The system is already built-in IPB4 but seems we have no control over toggles while configuring form fields in Pages, what limits us from designing us forms we like.

It would be helpful if IPS listed which browsers they actively support (and let people now if they intend on deprecating a browser or version of a browser) with their platform and all third-party developers would be required to certify that their products are compatible with them prior to being listed in the marketplace. If a marketplace app doesn't work with a particular IPS supported browser than it should be clearly stated in the product description. This will allow customers to make an informed decision of whether or not the IPS platform and any marketplace apps a person may consider for purchase will meet their overall needs prior to purchase and not learn afterwa…

Hi I really non positively surprised with the development of the personal messages (PM) system in the IPS community First thing - the search in the PM in the 4.4 is buggy (pagination is not working correctly and etc., have couple of tickets submitted). But this understandable as new development probably. BUT Why IPS is cutting the functionality, which was already there??: 1. First you limit the search for 1 year, and hardcode this in the source, with no ability to change in the ACP. 2.
