Good morning community, This one has me confused - I have several custom profile fields, some from my import and some I've created in the ACP. However, I can't seem to figure out how to set which fields show up in the forum posts / topics in the mini profile / post bit under the users avatar? None of the four settings I see in v4.1.x in the profile fields address this: - Allow member to see and edit? - Show on registration page? - Can be edited in the user control panel? - Show publicly on member's profile? Is there a way to rebuild URL in IPS 4? For example, I had to remove words out of titles, which I don't want in the URL. Is there a way to have the URLs rebuilt so that these words would be removed from them as well?

Hi all. I am coming to ask the community as my experience with Customer support has been, well rubbish. I need to be able to remotely log in IPS4 forums. There is currently no API documentation for ips4, just some vague guides. I have tried implementing the SSO method via plug-in. And it kind of works. The issue is that it does not log in all the time and u have to refresh the forums repeatedly until it logs in. I updated a 3.4.8 forum to 4.1.3.1 and all the posts with YouTube links do not show the embedded media play. I have already put a support ticket in - no response, which is unusual as IPS is usually fast with their work. But...is anyone else dealing with a blank screen when loading your site/forums? Safari says it is a server issue - I've tried troubleshooting just about everything on my end, I can't even connect through FTP.

Hi I'm new to Invisionpower & just set up my first community under the Community on Cloud package. I thought it was all hosted for me & therefore updates etc would be taken care of ... as I didn't need to install anything to start it. But I'm getting a big red message at saying - Version 4.1.3.2 of the IPS Community Suite is now available. This includes a security patch and we recommend you upgrade as soon as possible. This is also been shown to the members when they log on. When I click the link to update - it then tells me to download, extract then upload to my server! Any help or tips with this please? Thanks

Possibly a quick, easy one for most of you but i can't figure it out... I'm running the latest IPB v4.1 and all the toolbar icons are wrong, for example the Emoticon button opens the Code dialogue and the Hyperlink button aligns text right. I've tried reuploading all the files, resetting the toolbar and installing a fresh theme but I can still not fix this issue. Any suggestions? Nick.

I'm trying to set up my forum and would like it to show "recent discussions," "recent status updates," "popular contributors," "upcoming events," and "today's birthdays" in the side bar as I've seen on other sites using this software. How do I make it do that?

So I installed 3.4.8 today and was able to do my importing from Xenforo today. I got everything setup and everything looks fine. I then moved the forum to the root and everything is ok. Now here is where I am confused. I went and downloaded the latest 4.0 from my Client area. Now it's basically a zip with another folder inside with numbers. Am I suppose to take all the files inside and over write all the old files? Or how do I exactly upgraded from 3.4.8. to the latest? I have ran the upgrade script and I am good to go, but I am just confused on where to put the files and then start the upgrade. Can anyone explain it a little more clear to me? Thank you!

Okay, I just found out the hard way that there is no way to UN-delete a post. I thought I was deleting a REPORT but apparently I deleted the POST. Uggh. If there any way to recover the post? I'm being accused of censorship and it was an honest mistake.
