I need to update some number on the landing. This number is the database counter. On the page open this counter loaded well. Then for the live update, I created a simple controller JS, which get ajax front public url to get a new number. Obviously, it's very stupid way. Smarter and modern way is using special technology like a WebSockets (or long pooling). For WebSockets, we need a special daemonized service (for example, written in Python or PHP Daemon framework). So, our site currently has a huge problem which makes it unusable. After the problem gets fixed I will probably need to completely re-install IPS but I don't want to do all the forums and pages again (that was days worth of work) so I wonder if it's possible to implement the forums, databases and pages into the new version since I still have the old files.

Hi, I have two Pages blocks with identical permissions. I checked database, pages, blocks, fields. No difference when it comes to permissions. However, while I can see both as an admin. Everyone else sees just one of them. Any idea of places where I could check?

How are IPS able to use a unique OG image inside twitter cards, this image is nowhere to be seen in the article they are linking to? Is this only available with pages and not the forum app? If I use the inbuilt twitter promote, it just uploads the image separate and shows the tweet with link rather than display in card format. If I just drop a link into Twitter naturally it uses the default sharer image from the theme.

We just updated the forum and now members don't find the option to log in when going to the forums page. No fields to enter username and password that is. I am pretty sure it's just a setting, but we can't figure it out. Can anyone help? Thanks

Hi, I have searched but can't find an option to set default forum permissions so that when a new forum is created by admin or moderator we get the default permissions ready to go. any ideas how I can achieve that? also, can I reset all forums permission at one time, as some have permissions that are wrong and I don't want to search each one?

Hello, I want to create forums directly from a Laravel page (Laravel 5.6) and I'm getting redirected to forum's 404 page (Sorry, we couldn't find that!). Hello, After migrating to a new server (VPS) I found out that my emails are not being sent out. My default setting as delivery method are PHP. Switching to SMTP and using my gmail email account I was able to fix this and emails now work. However, I would like to ask you a few questions about these email delivery methods so that I can set them up properly and choose the best option for my needs (I am not an expert on this). 1. Recently I added the blog functionality to one of my websites. I prefer to have the blogs inside the clubs for different reasons. I created a blog inside one club (open type) and I thought subscribed users within the club would be able to create entries. It looks like my users can't write entries, they can only read the blog and add comments, but they can not publish. I have been trying different combinations, but the only way to create an entry in a blog inside a Club is being a moderator. Being a member of the club doesn't allow you to create entries. Since I upgraded to 4.3.3 the tax class in invoices by email, show something that looks more like an auto-generated password (it varies in each one too) instead of the name of the tax class, which in my case it should be GST. The problem only happens in the emails, in the actual order on my site, and anywhere I could look at, it's fine. Has anyone experienced a similar problem?

Hello, I've got a single user on our forum that cannot log in from his work computer. I've reset his password and verified it works by using it to log in to his account myself (and then telling him to change it again), but he can't get in. He gets an "incorrect user/password" error. I'm pretty certain this is something on his end, so I asked him for more details. Turns out he's on a work computer that cannot accept cookies at all. I don't know the plumbing of IPS4 that well yet, but I could imagine that this could easily kill the log in authentication system. Is that possibly what's going on? Edit: The second Authorization field for the ACP and re-authorizations seems to be bugged as it won't save anything I put in to it, currently working with support on this issue. I am trying to setup twitch OAuth on my website using the new feature in v4.3.x. However when I put in all my settings and attempt to link my account to my twitch login it gives a client id missing error on "Authorization Code" and if i change it to "Implicit" it appears to work but I get redirected back to my website's OAuth callback and it just sits there and does nothing, if I go to account settings after this it is still unlinked. I actually upgrade my forum on the IPBoard engine from version 3.3.4 to 4.3.4 version. Dear folks, I have at least two members who are unable to see the "Return to quoted post" arrow. They are using the latest Firefox browsers, I am using Firefox too and I see the arrow, they have cleared cache, I even made the arrow non transparent and full white all the time.
