Image optimization for SEO and Page speed

Hello,

I run this test (gtmetrix.com ) on my website and as a result I found:

Serve scaled images

The following images are resized in HTML or CSS. Serving scaled images could save 62.9KiB (87% reduction).

AND

Optimize images

Optimize the following images to reduce their size by 23.9KiB (42% reduction).

(mostly avatar images)

How can I optimize these two values?

Take your images and use a image processing tool or editor to rescale all of your images to only the size you need to display on your site (having multiple versions if you have different sizes. Honestly, since you cannot control member uploads, there's not much you're going to be able to do here, really.

Also, don't freak out about GTMetrix. Tools like that will list everything they can think of that might help page load times, but that doesn't mean you can or should follow every suggestion. Truthfully, a beefier hosting platform will probably do more for page load time than anything else. The stuff GTMetrix suggests is just sort of low-hanging fruit.

This information is only valid for 1024 pixel display resolution. Online Speed Test Tools use this resolution.
This parameter affects too little on the speed loading site.
For your site improvement, pay attention to all other test parameters.

Doesn't IPB automatically compress the new images that are uploaded?

It depends on your image settings in the ACP

And you can also define image size settings.

Choose whatever feels right for your community. As small as possible is not always the right choice.
