I wanted to fix the recommended database setting to change all of them the InnoDB-Databases. I contaced the support of my hosting company and they gave me the feedback that most tables are already on InnoDB and only 6 are set on MyISAM. I didn't have any problems running my board with those settings. Is is still recommended to change all tables to InnoDB ? Thanks for the help in forward.

Due to the server change of the IPS platforms I manage, it is no longer possible for me to embed content (Youtube but also internal to the forum) in posts, pages and anywhere on the Forum. I was told that it could be a problem related to security and in particular to a rule in modsec (mod security). Is there anyone who could give me clues about this so that I can contact the hoster with accurate information?

Just upgraded to PHP 8.0 and IPB 4.7. Shaky start involving recovery mode to disable 3rd party applications, etc. but we're up and running now. Unfortunately, when I try to use the marketplace to upgrade an application I know to support 4.7, I get the following error message in the system log: Extraction from phar "/tmp/IPSMP5Hvui6.tar" failed: Cannot extract "Application.php" to "/usr/share/nginx/html/applications/ignoretopics/Application.php", setting file permissions failed Has anyone encountered this before? Pretty sure we installed this application originally using the marketplace section of the ACP, without issue. It doesn't sound like the issue pertains …

Earlier today, I updated our server from PHP7.x to 8.0. I then upgraded the forum itself from 4.6 to 4.7. Unfortunately I neglected to disable 3rd party hooks before doing so, although the Invision installer did not indicate there was an update for either. The forum update went just fine, requiring me to perform some manual SQL etc. At the end, I got this message: When not logged in, the site www.rllmukforum.com renders just fine. I currently use revive for serving ads on my site but am considering using the built in ad feature at IPS. I would like to run around 12 ads in the side column but would want them to display in a random order each time the page is refreshed. Is it possible to add 12 banners to one location in this manner?

My forum was recently upgraded from 4.4 to 4.7, and one of the new features is that long, quoted posts are not shown in their entirety. Very welcome improvement! However, I have no idea where this setting is in the ACP, but I could have sworn I saw it at some point (and it is enabled on my forum). After searching and then looking through various settings pages in the ACP, I cannot find it for the life of me. Can someone please point it out to me? Thanks!

Hello, our website is cloud hosted with Invision. It appears the website ip changes and this creates multiple A records with Ezoic. At the moment I have 5 A records. 1. How can I fix this so I don't end up with multiple or wrong A records? 2. How can I set up X-Forwarded-For? I don't know where to add the necessary php code Thank you.

Hi. I have a problem with the cache error notification. I connected Redis and in my opinion it works fine, but for some reason it gives an error. What could be the reason? And I also have two setup questions. Do I need to set a password on the Redis server or not? There is no password now. And second, if Redis is enabled, is it possible to configure additional compression and caching at the server level?

When I go tot he support page in my control panel, I get this recommendation. InnoDB database tables typically perform more efficiently and reliably than other database engines such as MyISAM on most modern hosts when configured correctly. It is strongly encouraged to ensure all of your database tables are using the InnoDB storage engine, and that your hosting provider has configured MySQL for InnoDB use. Right now, I have a mix of MySam and InnoDB tables. I know how to swap them all to InnoDB but when I asked my host about it, this was their response. Hi, everyone. This morning I thought that over the years the forum had a ton of posts which include various links to other websites. Fact is that many of those links now lead to nowhere, to defunct sites, etc. I suppose google isn't taking kindly to such links. Is there a bulk way to scan forum for such broken links and list them? An option would be to automatically modify the link in bulk to remove the <a> tag from such links. What do you think?

I was trying to leverage badges and group promotion rules. It seems as though the trigger for badge assignment doesnt fire in IP Downloads. This is the flow.... I upload a file to IP Downloads (I am the author) From the front end of IP Downloads, I change the author to User2 (now they are the author) User 2 now has a IP Files count of 1, but the badge for "First File Uploaded" doesnt fire Since the badge of First File Uploaded doesnt fire, the Group Promotion rule to promote them from Member to Contributor doesnt fire I am not sure if there is a task that catches them up at a later date, but I feel like I shouldnt have to manually run all the b…

I have potentially taken on the task of migrating a 4.4.10 version to a new server and obviously upgrading to the latest and greatest version. I have a sync job that backs up my website, every time it runs, there are always 1-2 files that will not come down....which makes my backup job have a warning rather than a good icon. What are these doing? Why is it just these two files out of 10's of thousands of files? I get that I can probably ignore, but I want to resolve!

So basically, i'm trying to get an invision license and i want to implement the license on our community domain. Lets say "ourcommunity.org" , and i want to have 2 invision forum with same license on "en.ourcommunity.org" and "id.ourcommunity.org" is it even allowed by technical for the license or its not possible to do so ?

Is it possible to have that post scroller on the right hand side of the post? Where you can scroll through the posts in a timeline setting? That is a feature the community likes as we look to migrate to other platforms. Another Example to the right of the post from Unreal Engine:
