I've run IPS for probably 15 years or more now, and I still have no idea what this widget is trying to tell me. Below, for example, I have 526 users online, and 71.9% of them are using an app that I don't believe I have...it is an app called "System" 😃 After all these years "System" still makes zero sense to me, and it only obfuscates the ability to see what these 526 users are actually doing on my site (I know for a fact that every single one of them is visiting either my Forums, Pages, or Blogs areas, but can't really see how many are visiting my blogs below, and the percentages are totally off due to the "System" slice of this pie. When articles are edited in Pages, they show up as a recent activity in the activity streams, however the date displayed is their original published date, and not the edited date. This looks weird, because we end up have items with really old dates in the middle of a list containing very recent items. A detailed description of this issue is discussed here:

There is a Pages app with the Database connected to the Forum. Every Page has its own topic in forums. The first post in topic repeats the text of the Page. Pages app alters this post every time the pages changes. But it edit the post with the least ID in topic. Not the post in forums_topics.topic_firstpost, not the post earliest in time. In most cases post with the least ID is the first one, but not always in fact. And sometimes Pages app alters not the first post in the topic. I think it would be better if Pages app will get forums_topics.topic_firstpost to alter or at least forums_posts.post_date.

On the sales page we can see that some brands use IPS but concretely I think there must surely be better than that in terms of proof of Quality? Some kind of indicator that the session has timed out would be really nice. Particularly because when you're working in the customize html and css templates, and you let it sit for a while as you look something up and then come back, it's easy to do a bunch of work in there while it's timed out, then click save to save your file and lose everything you just did.

Today adding new plugins to the CKEditor is a lottery: maybe it will work, maybe it will ruin the editor completely. No previews, no tests, no undo. If a plugin brake the editor, the only thing you can do is to reset it. And add all previous plugins manually again and arrange all the buttons again. Managing CKEditor plugins in Invision Community is a very implicit process. I think Plugin manager for CKEditor will help many Invision Community customers who are not limited to standard CKEditor capabilities.

Our community is centered around the Downloads section, where people submit files and we approve or deny them. In IPS 3.x it was a mostly smooth process on our end. Our process involves downloading the submitted file and uploading it to an external CDN, which I understand is probably not a common practice but one we needed to commit to. Ever since 4.0, the file submission/approval process is kind of a nightmare, especially when people submit updates to their files. Before all we had to do was edit the file page and edit the external link field and click save. Hello, It will be beneficial if we can perform management action (delete/ban/approve) on several users at once from the ACP. Just add a checkbox near each user, which will solve this issue. I think it's a key feature that already existed in the older version and somehow vanishes. Thanks.

If there's a way to do it, I've missed it. I would love to have donations include a custom field (or two). We would use it for a "business name" or "donation in memory of ..." or "treat as anonymous" type fields.

Hello, I wish we had an option to disable the "Pages" ("Páginas", in our translation below) option in the search menu. As these fixed pages have no relevant content in our website, this option, being at the top, only creates clutter, taking up unecessary space. Note that I've already suggested the same for Products, and here we ended up using a plugin developed by Adriano Faria based on my suggestion to achieve this. My original suggestion to disable Products from search remains! 🙂 Thanks, Gabe.

So I have have members who advertise I wish to extend ability for them to purchase ad space on system emails. However setting up a new product there is no option to show the add within emails?

The idea would essentially be an additional window titled "notifications" in the account settings area. In the notifications area would be options such as "alert me when a member I follow posts a comment/status" or "alert me when someone replies in an area I follow". Also in this area would be things to include in your activity stream. Namely the same list of options that's in the admin cp of action items you can choose to show in the steam (ie reactions, new members join community, etc), except with radio style options for each one, so for example you could set "show reactions in stream" to "from members I follow only".

Nice touch, Team IPS! I'm not sure when it was added to the Stats section, perhaps I've just never noticed it before, but in Stats > Users Overview it shows us some nicely presented stats on some custom profile fields we have set up, effectively community meta data that would otherwise be hidden. True if you configured it, you can do a search for members with specific custom fields, but it's just a list of members. My custom fields are nothing high value but maybe a year or so ago just for fun I'd added a birth zodiac sign field to members profiles, so not everyone in the last 20 years would have used it, but the report instantly shows the highest and …

I keep checking this site for a blog post that describes first class support for video attachments in 4.5... I hope 4.5 does indeed add much better support for uploading and attaching videos to posts. Video hosting is very easy these days with cheap video streaming services like Cloudflare Stream. In addition to video hosting, I hope 4.5 comes with a better uploader for videos. The current uploader is miserable for uploading large files like videos. Hi, I wish we had a way to specify the order of the databases displayed in the Search and in the +Post features of the community. Currently, there is no way to specify the order we want them to be displayed, so they are listed according to the primary_id_field. I wanted to change the order, so the most used/popular databases are listed at the top and the least used/popular are listed at the bottom of these lists. V11LeMans.com is a worldwide forum running on InvisionBoard for 20 years. It's members are mainly english speaking, but I would like to reach a bigger audience. Therefore I've been searching here for a plugin that can translate member posts with a click (like on Facebook) and integrates nicely. Is there such a thing? I found inconvenient current club member removal rule. By now after remove a member, member lost opportunity to see the Join button to ask for joining again. In case remove accidentally, or by whatever reason demand leader take action to invite, then respond by member. Please consider adding 2 options to remove a member: Option 1, No opportunity to ask for join again. (this is for case of member so bad, and that club don't want more that member) Option 2, Remove members but leave Join button available. (this is case of warning by x reason, hope member wake up and return to club again)

Hi! Achievements system is a great one and it can boost activity. But in it's current state there's just too many of them and their value is decreasing the more achievements users earn. Say, we have achievements for 10, 50, 100 and 500 posts. So when user will reach 500 posts they will have all 4 of them which is not great. And it's only one system. When we add another achievements to it it becomes a mess because achievements page is full of ranks of the same achievements. I propose a simple solution. Instead of changing the system from scratch you can provide two variants - for those who are happy with so many achiements and for people who don't like how they work. …

Hi. For some time (at least for me), Google has started displaying the image on the right in search results on the desktop. I admit that it looks cool except that it does not work with the Invision Community 😞 Google apparently does not want to download the same image as the user's avatar over and over again. Is there any hope that IC will add a feature for fetching an image from a topic? e.g. from the first post it is in. Hi. Don't get me wrong, the typing feature is really cool, only not everyone will pay attention to it. Maybe instead of a Tooltip put the text next to it, or animation with dots like on Facebook? Alternatively, is it possible to show the tooltip without hovering the mouse over? Thanks.
