when a file is uploaded to Downloads system by adding a link to a file (as opposed to uploading the file) and when a user clicks download link he is then taken to offsite download page in the same window making him leave my site.

can this be done is it is opened in a new tab instead? and not make a member leave my site?

How is this not a thing? And if it exists why is it so hard to find the setting for it?

there is no such option in the setting to set a downloads link in (target="_blank")

all downloaded files are open in the same window 🤐
