I am talking about the icons next to the topic titles in the forum view. Are they really necessary? I think it becomes obsolete and repetitive. I think that we should replace them with the topic starter's avatar and just bold the titles if there are new answers (like it is now). I also think we should just put a tiny icon next to the topic title so we know if we have replied to that topic.

I'd like to suggest the option to be able to assign reported items to yourself, or another staff member. I feel everyone with an IP.Board license can really benefit from this function as it will help keep track of reported items.

I wanted to look at four members side-by-side today so I right-clicked the first one and opened it up in a new browser tab. I was required to login, so I did. Hey presto, member's profile - great, just what I want. I go back to the first window and search for the next member - but have to login again. Same process repeated for each member, and thereafter when I switch to any of the members and try to do anything with their profiles, I have to bloody log back in again. Quite frankly, it's a nightmare and needs something doing with it. Why can't you just set a cookie timeout and have done with it - why does it invalidate with every new call? It really makes multi-…

Can you change this data hook so that some more relevant data is exposed? Namely, it would be nice if we had an array of real data about the active users. All we actually get about the active users is an HTML link to their profile, we don't know their member group, and we'd have to do some trickeration on the HTML link to extract the member ID and/or name. Hi there, On my IP Board, I often have to delete members, because they are insulting, multi-accounts, etc. So, when it happens, I have to go to the ACP and then : 1. In the "Actions menu", destroy all member's posts 2. In the "Actions menu", clear watched topics and forums 3. In the "Actions menu", delete sent private messages 4. And finally push the button "Delete member". Could it be possible to have a one button that nukes everything from the member ? Posts, private messages, watched topics, etc... It would save a huge quantity of time. Thanks :)

Maybe there is a reason the devs did this, however, I noticed that there is no way to change the post icons through the admincp. Is there a reason behind why we cannot change post icons in the same way we can with emoticons? Might be something to incorporate. Thanks!

I'm not seeing a "Copy this topic" option in the Topic Moderation drop-down menu. I remember, as a new mod on a vB forum back in 2003 or something, being told that any time we needed to do complicated edits to a thread, the first thing we should do was copy the thread and store the copy in the mod forum so it was available to fall back on if we screwed up the edits of the live thread. I've been quite grateful for that stored copy a few times in my life! I was about to do the same for a thread in my IPB forum and I don't see the option.

while trying to get a fast solution to that [url="topic I had to modify my codes to check if the member has an avatar or not.. I think the buildAvtar function should be like buildProfilePhoto and return a default image / avatar if the user did not select any. could this be included in IPB 3.1.3 ? Thanks

I think there should be a way to sort members by posts/views or other content in the member search. Right now you can only sort by join date.

It would be good if there was a good words filter for topic title and descriptions that overrode the AdminCP 'SHOUT' settings. For example if I had 'DST' in my goodwords filter, if I used 'DST' in the topic title, IPB would not turn it into 'Dst'

I've used mods (hooks) for this in the past, but it's always surprised me that it's not a default feature of every forum. What we currently have by default is a filter to show posts with "0" replies. What happens if the topic starter bumps their topic, or adds replies? What we need to filter are topics where the topic starter has posted, but no one else, regardless of the number of posts in the topic. Unreplied topics.

I must admit the VNC system is still being criticized on my site. It still seems to work either: Perfectly (if set to show all unread content for every user)Inperfectly where posts are shown that you've just readFail to show new posts reliably if you work across different PCsFail to show a new post of you viewed that post when not logged in.I hate the system in it's entirety and if it was not nigh on impossible to do it I'd consider going back to vB on the strength of this alone. I still say it is not a 100% instant responsive database system like that in vB (or PhpBBS IIRC), those worked instantly, well and with no issues. The one in IPB is not reliable or consistent…

IPS only has Board down and general priorities listed for choices when you have an issue and are submitting a ticket. This falls short imo. I have parts of my site that are down that no one can view, and because my whole site is not down it is just a general support issue. I believe the issue I am having is more of a priority than a general one. My suggestion is give customers another choice for level of priorities. My site is dependent on guests being able to view everything because of the nature of who some of them are. Someone who has high public recognition doesn't want to be signed in or even known they are on the site. If media or anyone knew they were there it woul…

In the ACP, you can add forums to categories, but you can't add subforums to those unless you go into the forum itself and add it from there, or manually move it in the drop-down box when making a new forum. Example: I suggest that a new action is placed on said drop-down menu called "Create Subforum" or something similar. This will save many precious seconds and mistakes when making, remaking, or adding new forums.

I miss the feature from the 2x series where it showed how many people viewed your announcements in topic view. For such a small feature it does have a big impact knowing if the members on your forum are reading inportant information that has been posted by the site owner.

I once got a message from cometchat.com about using their product. I don't want to buy theirs because it's not an IP and I don't want to install paid 3rd party applications. I am wondering if this would be possible with IP.Chat?
