1) I'd like to see a setting to disable birthdays globally please. Maybe I missed a setting but if I didn't, I'm surprised there isn't a setting for it already. 2) Make it so that users have to type their birthdays/years themselves. No dropdown boxes.

I notice that the permission settings only allow you to choose whether the group can see all records or none at all. There really should be an option for "View other's records" as sometimes users might have to share information that others shouldn't see. Am I missing something here?

Hi guys, There is a quirk when using the mobile breakpoints on at the very least iOS devices, possibly others too. When you touch the editor to begin writing, the web browser will zoom in to more closely surround the editor. When the user has finished or abandons their post, the view doesn't go back to normal when they exit the editing area — the web browser is still zoomed in. The user then has to zoom back out manually, which is a bit of a pain. This is actually a very easy fix via CSS in most cases. There has obviously been a lot of feedback / criticism / assorted angst directed towards IPS over the development of IPS 4.0 over the last few months - quite a bit of it from me But it seems to me that IPB are now generally postively responding to that feedback with lots of forum interaction, and new resources such as the Feature Plan and Release Notes. That really fills me with confidence for the future. There is nothing more frustrating than a problem with the software being pointed out again and again and the issue being (seemingly) ignored by IPB, but that appears to be less and less of a problem. I wanted to know if this was my experience or not...and if there will be some improvements? 1. When you have main chat and a few private chats open if you switch between chat tabs, the chat will move back up to the top everytime, making you have to scroll back down to the most recent post. 2. When you kick someone from chat, it doesn't show the user was kicked or by who. 3. It doesn't always show when someone comes or goes.

If you set forums viewable without being readable (view the content of a post) forums seems enpty (no preview are showed) whereas there are content in. Therefore, if all your community is readable only for guest, visitor will understand that there is nobody on the community. This is wasn't the case in 3.4 (we had "forum protected" option also). Something need to be done about it because it change totally the appearance of a forum and we can't really use this feature to protect some content as it let the forum/sub forum blank (bad appearence) and users can't really understand what it means.

This seems to be missing from IPS4 (4.0.8.1). I found this useful in IP.Board 3.4 when finding posts by member from date as the search was much more quicker. I used the advanced search and I think I just needed to write the name of the member in the author field and choose the date.

I'm hoping multiple aspects of uploading errors in IP.Gallery can be fixed. If there is an error on ONE file (eg. Image #51) , then every other subsequent file gets an error. (I've verified that the remaining images #52 to #200 get uploaded to my server, which uses up my server bandwidth and storage. YET the remaining images doesn't actually get uploaded to the front-end website. Those original images are never removed, so when I reupload, I essentially have duplicates of the same image.) I get errors on EVERY other file after the upload (eg. #52, 54, 56, 58 ... 200). And I need to manually click on every single one of those error messages to remove them. One e…

Need better administrator tools for file management: Custom View - When I search for a file, I should be able to keep the custom view even after deleting / editing the file. Currently, file list is refreshed and you start all over again. Mass Edit - Need ability to batch add or select multiple files to mass edit / rename / delete View Locations - Searching for "View Locations" should automatically take me to the content on the front-end. The modal popup is an unnecessary step.

Hi, There could be a good reason it goes from the oldest to the newest post, but if it isn't, then please consider this. It seems to me the rebuild goes from the first post until the last. I would want the rebuild to start with the newest post (after the upgrade) and then finish with the oldest one. There are two core advantages to this approach: The feeling of a slow rebuild process will be less prevalent since you'll be more likely to have 90% of the visited content within the timeframe already be rebuilt. Suggestion for tools for IP.Gallery: Regenerate all variations of thumbnails / resizings in specific album or category. (Current tool applies to ALL attachments. I like the new feature of 4.0.9. that has ability to limit file types. In Downloads - when you submit a file you have a set of terms that the user must agree to - the same when downloading the file they are presented terms each time files are downloaded. I would like to see these things added to the rest of the suite with regards to Upload and Download Terms... with two other settings - days & downloads. ON or Off - and Group Override0 | 0 would require every file download or upload to require user to agree to terms.# | # would be the less of the two Example every 5 downloads or if i haven't downloaded anything in 3 days.

We have just upgraded our live forum from IP3 and it's gone extremely well. Here is a quick summary of the positives and negatives based on the 'real-time' feedback since deployment. Positives IP4 is a huge improvement over IP3. We have transitioned over completely bug free (except for a few issues of our own making!) and it's gone down very well both internally and for our community. I would recommend anyone to make the upgrade if it ticks all the right boxes for you. One of my Pages databases is used for keeping track of our workload and contains fields which declare whether a record is open or closed. I've customised it slightly so that if a field is set to closed, then the formatting changes, allowing my colleagues to distinguish much more easily what the current state of play is. However, I've received a request to change things slightly so that the open and closed tasks are separated.
