Loving IPB4, but one criticism I have is the block manager (for placing widgets like sidebars and gallery images in forums). At the moment, if you go into a category/forum, and place a block there, that block is displayed in every single forum throughout the whole forum. The only place this doesn't happen is on the main forum index page. It would be a lot better if you could choose what was displayed where. I have a category (General chat) with forums in it. One forum is for members cars, and I'd like to be able to have in the sidebar certain blocks. But I don't want these blocks in any other forum, only members cars. With the current block manager, you can't do this…

Hi guys, so I’ve been trying to like the new search Streams format; i can’t put my finger on it exactly but... i find it very annoying still, while it’s a nice classic and clean design; i find it very unsettling and confusing to view or track topics; i don't know if it’s that line across the left side connecting all topics that makes is confusing; or the lack of tags used to display quick info about topics, this new search format is just not working out for me; it’s very confusing and lacks basic intuitive queues, Anyone else finds this an issue for them? TIA Chris

Regarding this option: I am selling licenses for digital goods in my shop and this options makes perfect sense in this case. If you are granted to use something, an option to put that x times in the cart would be silly and confusing. So that option is great in principle. But unfortunately it doesn’t look at custom product options. In my case there are additional options available for the licenses and it makes perfect sense to buy one option once and then later you decide to buy also another option. But the setting shown above prevents that unfortunately since it is only checking the product itself, not the individual options bough. So I am asking to allow…

In addition to the tax calculation, the way tax is shown in Nexus is far from ideal and simply not legally correct in certain countries. Problems I saw at first glance … Tax percentages aren’t shown throughout the store, e.g. “including 20% VAT” I am legally required to show this—everywhere! There is a global “price description” field to to add something like “including VAT”, but since the VAT will differ per customer, I can’t put any values in here. The system already uses the tax percentages to calculate the shown prices, so it can and should also show the tax percentages used to the customer. VAT isn’t shown for everything. A subscription for example…

Edit: I see it actually does work correctly if there is more than one person who voted. That doesn't mean it's not worded a little awkwardly. Maybe others disagree. I might suggest to just change it to "1 member found this review helpful". However, I do see why it might be done purposely (to make it consistent). Either way, it really doesn't bother me.

Been long wanting a way to filter the Activity stream to content that has no replies or at least has no replies by more then one person -( two post by the same member = no replies ). This one filter is good for moderators to keep on eye on new content that may be posted by new people - and greet them and take care to move posts as needed - Further shouldn't ownership option also allow for 'groups' so you could (perhaps admin / moderators ) could filter stream by a particular group such as "newbies"

On https://invisionpower.com/services/migrate when you click Migration Tool/Get It Now, it says "Please note: while we work to update our migration tools to IPS4, you'll currently need to migrate to our 3.x series and then upgrade to IPS4 once the migration is complete" and the download link is to the 3.4 converter.

After upgrading an active forum we've received numerous complaints about the lack of a "star" * to indicate / confirm for them that they are actually logged in anonymously when they see their name in the recently browsing box etc. I also think this should be added back, as members now feel constantly unsure whether other see they read the page or not.

Dose anyone how to integrate Prestashop and IP. Board? I found something that could be useful. But how to carry this out on prestashop side? http://www.invisionpower.com/support/guides/_/advanced-and-developers/integration/ips-connect-r27 I have tried the example given in this link, but it keeps showing an error "IPS Connect rejected the details provided. Please check the details you provided have been entered correctly and try again." Anyone knows how to deal with this and how to fulfill the coding on Prestashop side?

The Quick View feature for products with options makes ordering many products from one category at once pretty easy. Thanks for that! But unfortunately it only works well it the options don’t have individual prices. If they do, the customers are supposed to make selections and put them in the cart without having any idea what it costs. So please add the pricing calculation that happen on the product page also to the quick view popup.

You could (should) make an exception for MariaDB versions and not lock in on just MySql versions alone. More needed though is changing the UTF8 response. In this upgrade case, none of the tables had been upgraded to UTF8 but this script *only* displayed a single table as not being UTF8. Naturally I just went to the console and changed that... and running the script again I see another table... and then another after I fixed that one... until I realized the script was only going alphabetically through the tables and then stopping (and displaying) just that one. Please, when the script detects non-UTF8 tables either just say "One or more tables are not UTF8"…

Forum category permissions are not inherited for flexibility, but you could add an option of a check box for sub-forums and future forums (when you add more) to inherit the upper level permissions. This would be better for those that want to click the top level and have all under it be inherited, even newly added forums, instead of having to add one by one. I also see another issue. The "All" checkbox under the forum list. Unfortunately once all are all selected you can't deselect any, you have to uncheck the All box and they are all deselected, then you can select individually. It's all or nothing, and to select individually, you have to start from the empty list. S…

I would like to see actual products being separate from the categories. Currently if you have a product that you want under multiple categories you can't add it easlily without adding it per category.

On IPB3, you were able to literally add straight PHP code to the templates which allow people to 'shell' your forum. Same thing on IPB4, it's not secure. You can also dump the entire database using ACP? Let's take XenForo as an example; - You hack the ACP user, what do you do? You can't shell the site.. You can't dump the database.. All/Most actions can be reverted. Or IPS 3-4: - You hack the ACP user, what do you do? shell the site using the template editor?? Why this? When you make someone admin, or give them access to edit your templates. You expect it's safe right? But they have full server access by doing so.. It's ridiculous, why …

I don't understand why Administrators have additional features when creating records such as 'Featured', 'Locked', 'Hidden', featured image, etc. but other member groups who have writing and editing permissions don't. It would be good to have these added to the permissions section so that we don't have to make these users administrators just so they can access them.

I was told that I should post the above thread here. Basically, I need to have the Record Image field in an IP.Content database set as REQUIRED. Currently, this field is not editable and can't be toggled to be required or not. This is the field where one can upload an image and this image is displayed when showing a list of records. I would really appreciate it and also if possible, the ability to move that field up within the form. It's all the way in the bottom of the form and I would prefer to have it right after the title input box field. Thanks!!

Hi, I have had a spammer send out pm's to my users. I have it limited to 20 messages per day, so this spammer managed to send off 40 messages in total before I was made aware and this member was banned. My question is how do i delete these 40 messages so my members dont have to read this spam rubbish about inheriting a billion dollars. Is there the ability for admins to delete personal messages sent by users?

It is required to add/display information about updated files, not only about added. Without this feature monitoring activity in file archive is almost useless. It is also concerns search results and sorting options (not only by created date, but also by updated).

Is there not a way to automatically hide posts below a certain reputation level? Like if one gets -5 can we not hide it the same way one with +5 is highlighted?
