Hi, after a poll, members of my community would prefer the Q&A replies sorted by date by default I found on this forum a "mod" with one template edit and one php file edit But I think that an option in the admin Panel would be great Regards This topic was very interesting

I can't help but be frustrated by the fact that when one sorts articles by title, the only available option for alphabetical sorting is ascending order, i.e. articles starting with A at the bottom of the list. This is extremely counterintuitive for those of us writing wikipedia/dictionary style database articles, where by default the majority of (if not all) people would appreciate the option to sort in descending order so that the list begins with A and ends with Z at the bottom. I'm no coder, but it doesn't seem like much to add given that one sort order is already in place...? So pleeeeeease could the option be added to articles for the user to choose an alphabe…

Hi there, For the custom profile fields in IPB 3.x, we were able to define a couple of key - value. For instance for a drop down box: flag_afghanistan=Afghanistan flag_albania=Albania flag_algeria=Algeria … flag_germany=Germany … flag_south_africa=South Africa … Then it was easy to retrieve the field key, and then process the data depending on that key. But now, under IPS 4.x, I can't see how it's possible to use these fields keys. In the admin, we can only fill in the values. Do you know how we can manage them? Help! Thanks

If a users content is moderated, the "reason for edit" cannot be seen by the user. If the " Show that the message has been edited" box is ticked, it is shown to everyone. So we currently have two options: Show to admins only Show to everyone Can there not be a third option to only allow the users whose content is being moderated to the see the reason for the edit? Along the same line, if that third option is selected, having that sent as a notification or PM to the user automatically would be easier than sending a manual message.

Many sites are moving away from security questions because they're found to be unreliable or unsafe. It's curious that IPS is adopting this instead of 2-factor authentication. Perhaps 2-factor is coming later, but the implementation of security questions should be raising eyebrows. There is no way to distinguish which language strings are public and which are only visible in admin CP. It's bad enough everything has to be translated from scratch for IPS 4 but it would be much less work to only translate the public strings which are visible to users. Adding a filter to only show public string would greatly speed up translations.

Hello! I'm about 'Require customer's real name and Billing Address when' setting. Allow us to disable only real name, or only billing address. 'Purchasing physical products will always require a name, billing address and shipping address.' Why? There is no such thing as 'billing address' in Russia. We have only 'shipping address' even for physical products. Thanks in advance!

Whenever the pages app posts a forum thread for new articles it currently posts the entire article with a read more link at the end. I propose that instead of the full article being posted, only an except be posted. Say the first 150 words or 300 characters etc. with the read more link at the end.

When you create a poll and make the results not visible to the voter until they vote in the poll, there is a 'cheat' workaround where the member can log out of the site and return as a visitor. If 'visitors' have access to see the forum section where the poll is located, they can see the poll results. I asked tech support about this and was told that this is by design. I believe the design is faulty in this case if you want poll results to be hidden until the member casts a vote.

After hiding more than one or deleting one post the system takes me to the first post in the thread. This is bad as I have to search for the position I came from, especially in threads with a lot of posts on several pages I would be much better to be put to the post before the deleted/hidden one Regards

If you set a calendar event as featured it appears in a slider block below the main calendar screen. However this appears to show all featured events whereas I should have thought that it would only show upcoming events - am I missing something? Also if you have multiple calendars then the block shows events from all calendars irrespective of which calendar you are viewing. Surely it ought to only show featured events for the calendar that you are viewing or all calendars if viewing all calendars.

@Charles for security reasons on certain forum sections that you choose. Can you make it so where when the user tries to go into a forum section, they must type in the security questions that they set. That way if a hacker logs into one of my members accounts they won't be able to access any forum sections to steal information without knowing the security questions. *Also make it work as a cache so they don't have to keep retyping their security information in everytime. that would get annoying* This would be a huge step into account security for my clan forum. When sharing a topic by email with ipb 4.x, it create a page that is visible by search engines, It is damageable because: It doesn't bring added value to user and should not be present in SE indexes SE loose precious crawl time, crawling useless page. So we have two things to correct: The page ( /?do=email ) should have cannonical and nofollow meta header The link should have rel=nofollow I don't think it's something big

If I want to manipulate user's topics/posts on profile page (Activity tab), I have to check all checkboxes one by one. That's very annoying when there are many items: Why there is no a traditional checkbox "Check all"? Please, make it.

When browsing the board on a mobile device, attachments open as a new page instead of a lightbox which has been the standard for probably last 10 years. You have to go back and click a different image to get to the next image. It's 2016! A similar problem is present in Gallery where some sort of lightbox actually opens over the page but you can't advance to the next image. Instead you have to close the lightbox, move to the next image and open the lightbox again. Big fail! It's been a year and a half since IPS 4 has been released and these issues are still present. You allow sso for a google domain but you also allow registration for all other gmail accounts. Please enable a way that you can lock down registration only for a certain Google Domain that has been enabled for SSO from the admin side.

If you're searching by IP, or getting all IP addresses used by a member, it should be possible to see that the IP address has been used in PMs. I think it should also give the date range that it was used, but no more information - the title, recipients and contents should probably remain confidential, and it shouldn't be possible to join the PM from the IP lookup. There are some members who join and just send PMs, and it would be really useful to be able to see that they have used the same IP address as another banned member, etc.

Hello, I would really appreciate if the team could add a "save only" button to some areas like editiing a block. Especially when creating a custom block I need the possibility to do several changes during tests. At the moment the save button leaves the editor completely and jumps back to block overview. This is very annoying during development. A "save only" button would be great.

If every other ticket in the list was change to a color so that it not a list of grey(ish). Like the first one being grey, than the next one will be white, etc. Also, the last part is if the hover area of the mouse where it on a ticket was highlighted to allow the user to see where they are clicking at. Quick easy code to add to this patch.

My members are driving me crazy with topic and blog titles/entries in ALL CAPS. I suggest a switch for all IPS apps to stop the shouting. Ideally, this would include a list of allowed words (SQL, USA, etc.) that would be left alone. The rest would be converted to title case. I realize there is an add-on for this, but it only handles topic titles, not blogs or other apps. Also, defining this as custom CSS doesn't solve the issue of the caps remaining in the feeds. I'd really love this as a core feature.

If you press escape after clicking and holding to ajax edit the title of a content item, it should edit the edit mode without committing the changes. Ideally, IMO, editing should not be reliant on focus, because that prevents copying and pasting things while you edit (you have to copy it before hand), and is generally annoying - instead, pressing enter should save, escape should cancel, and there should be buttons next to the title to save or cancel.
