It would be great if in a future update members could have the option of whether they want to receive comments or not for their blogs - not everyone does so it would be helpful to have the option 🙂

I’ve had experience in the past couple of months of at least 2 Marketplace app/plugin devs not responding to requests for support in their support topics or in PMs sent to them, even if I also tagged them. I don’t mean not replying within a matter of days (which can sometimes already be too long), but I mean weeks and months, even after repeated pleas for a reply. I’m referring here more to paid apps/plugins in particular, rather than to free ones and obviously not to unsupported ones, and to devs/authors who are otherwise recently active on the forum and not to those who haven’t been seen for ages. This lack of response not only makes those devs and those apps/plugi…

Wouldn't it be nice to give our members the option to remove stuff from the stream in an easy way?

Hello. Background task queue 'RecountMemberReputation' must be improved. This background queue can start only from two places: Button to recount ALL reputation in ACP - good When 'somebody' removes given reputation - bad. It's bad from two sides: Logic If you have a big amount of users and their activity it is too heavy to recount reputation for ALL users when just one of them get his reaction back. This call located in \system\Member\Member.php line 3507. Please, make it smarter and stop recount all users. Method This background queue calls with that code: \IPS\Task::queue( 'core', 'RecountMember…

The current product discount system in the shop works like this: The product costs 5.00. If the customer takes more than 10 for example the product equal number 11 would leave for 4.00. So getting 10 products for 5.00 and 1 for 4.00. My proposal is that the discount be the same as several online stores thus: The product costs 5.00. If the customer takes more than 10 products, each of them will cost 4.00. thus giving a discount to all products, not just 1 product as it currently is.

It would be great to have an option in the AdminCP "Download Member List" to filter by club memberships. We anticipate that some of our clubs could end up with 100s, possibly over 1000 members, in the next year or two ... and being able to download just the individuals from a particular club would be extremely useful! Thanks for considering this idea 🙂

I ran into an interesting situation this week, which leads me to this suggestion: An option in "Bulk Mail" to exclude individuals who have registered for the community, but have not been validated as a member. Our community requires registration and login before any content can be accessed. We sent out a bulk email to remind members to complete a part of their user profile, and that email also went out to individuals who had registered to be part of the community, but had not been approved for membership. That created a minor issue with some of those folks believing they had been approved, but then obviously and correctly, could not log in.

I have a list of email providers that I don't want to allow users to register a new account with. At the moment I can to go to AdminCP > Members > Ban Settings, click on Add Ban Filter and enter email adresses one by one. Even when I use wildcards, it takes forever. The same goes for names or IP adresses. The other way round, allowing only certain email domains for registration, which can be found under AdminCP > Members > Registration, works the same way: one domain per entry. Suggestion: It would be much easier, if there was a textarea field for these settings, which allowes me to enter one entry per line. Then I could just copy and paste my t…

Hi guys, It looks like the subscription sign-up block disappears if a user is already a subscriber. I've added this block to my front page at the Classic Zcar Club. However, I noticed that users who have already signed up, do not see this block at all. In this case, it leaves a blank hole with no content. See screenshots below. Is there a way we can get this block changed? I think it would be best to always show the block. If a user is already signed up, simply indicate their current subscription. Other options to upgrade their subscription should also be shown (similar to the subscription page). Here's the page for users who have not chosen a subscr…

You have a feature where changing the terms presents you with an option to have members re-accept them. Two improvements I'd like (And which I personally was surprised was not already a part of it) 1) Add one or more ways to log out. You could present a "Log out and continue browsing as a guest"-option besides the accept-button. There is no way you can log out now (besides deleting cookies) 2) Make the contact us-link at the bottom work for this page. It fails now. People should be able to contact and ask any questions they might have about the change. Maybe that could also be presented as a button besides the Accept-button.

Would be nice if we could hide certain categories or products from the store, but if you have a link to the category/product it would allow you to view it and purchase.

Hi There is a great feature on some large boards, often boards belonging to large companies They allow visitors to post and only at the end require username & email to perform the registration Many visitors would never register first and then post, they directly post with a form, and discover at the end they have to provide username & email to have their post submitted, so they accept to give those informations This is very powerful, and i was hoping to see this on IPS 4, maybe it is available and i didnt see it ? You must have seen this many times on the web, an example here on a french website : http://voyage.linternaute.com/forum/c…

I strongly feel all possible moderator actions (DELETE, EDIT, MOVE, MERGE, STICK, CLOSE etc) should be possible on topics/posts displayed in IPB Search Result. Not sure why its not there already in latest version. We generally use Search feature to find topics/posts with particular keywords and then moderate them accordingly. But now, we have to go to individual topic/post and do the moderation there manually, and it consumes lot of time. Its very inconvenient when we need to moderate hundreds of topics/posts. What do you guys think ?

I believe we want our users to be able to edit and even delete their own content. My concern is this: User "Alpha" starts a topic in one of our forums. Over time, 10s or 100s of replies accumulate from individuals interested and invested in the topic. For whatever reason, one day in the future, user "Alpha" decides to delete the entire thread that they started. I want user "Alpha" to be able to delete/edit singular posts, but not an entire topic - that may have been going on for years - just because they had a bad day, or whatever 😏 Could there be a way to set permissions for members to delete their posts, but not an entire topic? In other words, …

HellO! It would be cool to see the possibility of adding the sidebar block with the most liked messeges or/and other most liked content from the community (gallery, blog...)

An affiliate program has a lot of potential to grow a community and increase the income, since you get your members to advertise your site and your products. The current implementation of the Commerce referrer function is too limited though at the moment. Maybe it can be improved someday. This is how most site-based affiliate system I use work nowadays: 1. They are HTTP-referrer based. The affiliate partner registers his site(s) and confirms his ownership, e.g. by uploading a special file via FTP. After that, all incoming links from those site are automatically tracked through the HTTP referrer. No special URLs necessary. The current Commerce implementati…

My suggestion for version 4.4 is to make it possible to designate a user as a moderator of a topic. That the user had rights only to a specific topic. There used to be a similar plugin, but it is no longer being developed

Sorry for the tinfoil hat post here. One thing many website owners and visitors don't full understand is that just the presence of Facebook et al share buttons, embeds, etc. provide those companies tracking data whether you are actually using those services are not. I've considered removing these buttons but at the same time these services are also kind of vital for outreach, and most people who use those services don't seem to care. My question is whether it's worth it to allow registered users to opt out of these services, meaning that share buttons are either completely removed, or added in such a way that removes the tracking capability of the services? Thinking …

I'm trying to take the gamification concept to heart, and I feel like there are several 'calls to action' that are missed opportunities within the suite. 1. No View Permission When a user doesn't have permission to view, this is the message that he sees. Factually and technically, the message might be correct. But in terms of user interface, it's terribly off-putting and doesn't provide a method of resolution. Yes, there is a problem and the problem is that the default error for all IPS communities is horribly unappealing. Pretty sure the goal is to get users to join, not scare them away. Also, if it's a guest, he should be offered a cha…

Post and Topic feeds do not allow us to choose where to display them. I was not aware of this limitation until I purchased the "Featured Content" add-on which does. Below is a screen shot of the Feature Content config option. It allows me to specify where to display the slider.

Re IPS' Q&A style forums, for unanswered questions, what do you think to a message at the top saying something like this that affects community rep points: I noticed Amazon AWS forums have this although it's rather crude looking, and it links to a help page explaining how it works. https://forums.aws.amazon.com/help.jspa#questions My members never seem to rate up or down questions or mark them as answered so I tend to do it, not sure if it's due to lack of understanding the features so I will probably do a staff blog about it.

I really like the HD emoji's, they look great on retina displays. On suggestion I would make is HD group icons: Having badges that are HD would make user profiles look very smart and sharp 👍
