When going to "Search the Community" page it would be good to have some tips show up on how to better use the search function. Currently you have to enter a search term before something like this appears, "Didn't find what you were looking for? Try searching for: The phrase "search term" search AND term Newest results first search term in content titles only". You can also search for short words using the star/asterix appended to the end, such as, "UPX*". This does not appear to be explained anywhere... Ted.

I assume that there is no way to select payment methods that should be available for gift cards? I wish it to would be handled the same way as for a product (select payment methods that should be available for gift card) and not "offer all payments we have defined in our community".

Stripe introduced their new chargeback protection which will cover the 20$ fee for every chargeback for just 0.40% per protected charge which is worth it. But only client-side integration is available and server-sided one requires work. Will IPS implement this feature? https://stripe.com/docs/payments/checkout/server https://stripe.com/docs/disputes

How are things looking for compliance on IPB? This is pretty huge... and takes effect on Jan 1, 2020 (3 months). Right up there or worse than GDPR. Under CCPA individuals can sue companies for CCPA violations. So far more unbounded costs. https://www.cnbc.com/2019/10/05/california-consumer-privacy-act-ccpa-could-cost-companies-55-billion.html

Hello, When we have Pages installed, we have the options to set the comments for each article as a topic, which is great. However, these comment topics don't have the "Merge" action enabled. This would be great to have, because from time to time we see users posting comments about articles as new topics, and we need to merge these new topics with the comment topics that already exist. Thanks

Situation: User A has been warned and their posts are temporarily held for review. User A is also in a group that requires moderator review of posts until XX days or XX posts made. User A sees an error message saying their posts are being held for review because of a warning they received even after the original warnings expires. Their posts are no longer being held for review because of the warning, it's just because they haven't made enough posts or been a member long enough to get out of the moderator review stage. However, they still see an error stating it's (incorrectly) because of an expired warning.

Please add Bit/Chute Support, so we can embed videos of that platform. Or add the possibility to add your own custom embed code.

hi, here's one instance where you can't translate accurately from english to my language (or I assume to some other languages too). There is this string user_own_activity_item which sets this string %2$s posted %1$s. In english its all good. you can post an image you can post a forum post, you can post a comment. But in my language you can only: you can post (patalpinti) an image you can post (parašyti) a forum post you can (pakomentuoti) post a comment. each activity has its own word best suited for it. something similar like that was attempted since there is also this string album_user_own_activity_item - %2$s added images to %1$s in …

When I add a calendar event with a location, the country is not set by default (in my case, it should default to United States). The focus is automatically on the street address, and if I don't select the United States before entering the street address, I don't get Google Maps auto-complete for the address. Seems to me that this behavior isn't as friendly as it could be, especially since for other forms, the address field sets the default country from the locale for the current user.

hi, I have had to set up custom stream filter for myself to exclude ONE forum I dont want to see topics from and I end up with a monstrosity every time I go to unread content. Just where the red arrow points imagine 15-20 lines of text listing every available from except for the one I blocked in custom filter. That's bad. Thankfully AllAstronauts made a hook to truncate all that after 3 lines of text and a button read more to reveal everything else. Does IPS really have to display all of that? What if I had even more forum sections? Can a spoiler or show more link be added here to reveal the full list of forums the content is gathered from? It looks ridiculous. …

hi, some time ago I made a suggestion about your website - IPS and its section - Release notes via ticket, but I guess it didn't make it so I go again here 🙂 https://invisioncommunity.com/release-notes/ Its a fine page to track all the changes, I love it. But it misses one vital user experience enriching function. When you for example scroll down some more and you click on for example on 4.1.19.2 Released 04/11/2017 The information loads but you have to manually scroll back up to see it. That is not a good user experience. IMHO whenever a tab with a version is clicked you have to be automatically scrolled back up to the top …

For albums that contain comics or other things where page order is very important, sorting can currently be a bit limiting. One issue I've seen is there's no way to change the sort order when it comes to last upload date (newest to oldest vs. oldest to newest). I'd also really like to see an option that lets you explicitly designate the order of images in an album via a drag and drop mechanism similar to what you get during the initial upload.

Stripe payments have the wrong IP associated for the transaction which is then queried to MaxMind's fraud service resulting in false positives since there is a mismatch in country of origin. Also Stripe uses Amazon's IP ranges which is picked up as a hosting service. The relevant file is applications/nexus/interface/gateways/stripe.php line 86.

Unsplash is a free image platform that gives you permission to use million of images for free - no strings attached and no questions asked. The only limitations deal with entire site scraping, etc., which are far from being an interest to community managers like us. More information about the license: https://unsplash.com/license The also have developer API with free access: https://unsplash.com/developers Possible uses: - All websites that combine community with news portal. You will be able to use unsplash photos automatically in your news articles, without the need to look for image, check its permissions, download it, upload it, etc. If you are famil…

Self-explanatory; there currently appears to be no API endpoint for creating gallery albums. You can only get a list of albums or pull information of an existing album. There's no POST/creation API method in the latest release.

Upgrade from IP. 3.4.x to IPS4.0 So you think you are ready to take the plunge and try a test install / upgrade from your current IP Board to the current IPS4.0 beta and later to the final release. Well we will see. {Comment} The following steps are with the assumption you have already created a test install of your current board and made all the preparations leaving your current live board intact. Step One. 1st, Download and run Get Ready For IPS 4.0 1.0.3 to test your current install to see if it is in fact ready. you can get your copy here. http://community.invisionpower.com/files/file/7046-get-ready-for-ips-40/ OK! all is green and good to go then skip the next st…

is there away where each individual member could flag comments of choice? And that way it would be easier to find and reply to at a later time?

Something that occurred to me recently: From what I can tell, if you utilize guest caching on an IPS community website, pages that are cached will not update the advertisement impression counter. This could be an issue for communities that utilize guest caching and sell impression based advertisements or otherwise rely on impression limited adverts. If there was a way to offer support for registering advertisement impressions on cached pages, I think this would be a useful addition. I'm not sure if this would be as simple as calling \IPS\core\Advertisement::updateImpressions(); on cached pages or if more work would be required (I haven't tested this lo…

When customers add more than 1 item to their cart it don't create billing agreements for the items, it seems like they have to be separate transactions for it to create a billing agreement, would be nice to create them for each item they purchased instead of not creating one at all

Add hidden badge to the stream view of events. Right now we cannot see what event is hidden unless we open it. Add address line below the map in the stream view. The map part alone is not really helpful without the address line. Add a number of views. Right now we cannot see how often an event has been viewed. Remove Calendar menu if there is only one calendar, as it does not make sense to select between the single calendar and All calendars Remove the link "Event details" from stream view or display it on every event in the stream. Right now the link is displayed only if there is not enough text in event description. It not somehow not logical. …

On the venu pages https://example.com/calendar/venue/1-venue/ there is no page title with H1-Tag. H1 should normally include the title of the venue. Right now we have only H2 and it is the same for all venues About the venue. This way the venues do not really have a chance to be ever found by their name in the search engines.
