I read earlier that IPB4 doesn't require a robots.txt since everything is handled correctly. But in my Google Webmaster I have about 250 403's of the forms /applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=xxx ?do=email ?do=email&comment=xxx What would be causing this and how can I fix it?

Hello, After watching this thread and seeing there was no plugin being available to do it, I guess I need to put my hands on it. However, as Recent Posts is a system widget, what should be the best approach to modify it? Or should I rather create a new plugin and mimic what the system widget does? Thanks!

I can upload images fine to the theme, and they work. However, after a while, overnight the first time, a few hours the second time, they are dropped. When I try to re-upload them I get an EX0 error The file names are there, but the thumbnails are gone. Any thoughts? The background processes fro the upgrade from 3 -> 4 are running. Could they be causing some problems? Thanks JM

Does this happned with any one else too? With 50 k users, there was never a issue .. but after upgrading to IPS 4... I keep getting such mails Your bounce rate for today is currently 68.29%, compared to your 90-day average bounce rate of 1.73%. Want to check - if this happens with others too?

Hello, In the past day I have been trying to achieve an optimal configuration for my forums in a dedicated server with the following specs: Atom™ N2800 / 2 cores / 1.86 GHz+ / 2Gb Ram I am using Nginx and PHP-FPM. I've tried switching from filesystem storage and database storage, along APC, XCache or Memcached. Every other options apart of the standard configuration that currently gives me an aprox. 1.7sec response time, every other option seems to be giving 2.4sec+ response time. I know of course it does add an extra overhead to the server, but shouldn't it be optimized to be fast instead of slower? Thanks

My site is for language-learning so I'm perfectly happy for people to upload files in their forum posts to help others with their pronunciation. If someone says "How do you say X?", then it makes sense to use sound rather than try to explain it with a description. But I'd like people to be able to play the files within the post, just as they would if it were embedded from something hosted elsewhere, such as YouTube or Soundcloud. This is a feature that we'd use a lot, so going to the trouble of uploading elsewhere when it's just a five-second clip really isn't much of an option. That doesn't seem possible to me. I have upgraded it successfully to 4.0.13.1 and everything looks good. And after 4 days I realized today that one of the IP Content database is not showing any fields while displaying the records. I had a classifieds database having about 12-15 fields and only one is showing for image. Total disaster and my community members are getting furious with this now. Look's like a serious database conflict issue, as I reported this to support and they have been absolutely silent since few hours. Anyone thinking of upgrading from 4.0.13 to 4.0.13.1 please wait.

Hello, I'm useing Pages and when posting new Articles I've noticed there's only a Standard Text Editor no button to Embed Codes.. Is there a setting I'm missing or is this not possible with pages? I'm trying to embed an online poll but when posting the article it just basically shows the text of the code.

Community -> RSS/Atom Feed Imports. When Enabled for a particular feed, the RSS Pub Date is posted instead of the date that feed was posted on the forum, which does not render them chronologically. In the feed I have, there are two pub dates and unfortunately it grabs the second "pubdate" (The author's date - 2002). The first pub date is the current RSS date but neither are correct. The "Posted" date should be the date the RSS feed was posted. Small, issue I know and I contacted support which kindly sent a reply back that due to the nature of that issue it will take awhile - I am fine with that and fine with their response. Just want to let others be aware.

What is the easiest way in 4.0 to get a list of all the members with birthdays for a given month? In 3.x I can simply look at the month and can see all the members for each particular day in the month. In 4.0 it just lists "# Birthdays Today"

Hi I just upgraded from 3.4 to 4 and pretty well everything seems to work, with one exception... bbcode is not rendering. Instead I just see the raw tags. It is a test install on a clone of the live server. When I search for bbcode in admin I just get pointed at the customization toolbar. Additionally, I can't find a place to customize bbcode. What am I missing? How can I get the bbcode rendering? How do I add custom bbcode? Cheers John

I have a test install that I'd like to make live. Here's the process I'm doing to rename the folder. rename the current /ipb folder to /ipbX rename the test install folder to /ipb edit /ipb/conf_global.php changing the board_url to reflect the change edit .htaccess to reflect the change ... when I load the page it's missing styling elements. /admin is also missing styles. What am I missing? What else is referencing the old directory?

I've upgraded my IPB forum to IPB 4 today and i'm pretty happy with it. The only downside is that when a user creates a support request (IPB commerce) it's asking them to fill in their billing information like address, name and even more. We do not need this data of our users and our users don't like to give this kind of data. Is there any way to disable this? Thanks in advance.

Is it possible to display more than 1 advertisement in a custom advert location? For example: {advertisement="sidebarblock"} If I set 3 adverts to this location, it only displays 1 of them, can I get them to loop so it shows all 3 in a list? Rather than having to create a unique custom location for each one. Thanks in advance.

Hi, i try to install the IPB but become in the install-check: Is it possible to continue the install in a way or is the 128M neccesary?? Your PHP memory limit is set to 100 MB but should be set to 128M or more. You should contact your hosting provider or system administrator to ask for this to be changed.

Hello, I have some flat images for my forum icons and I would like for them to show up in full color when viewing them as a guest. Right now it seems all icons when I am logged out are marked as read. In ipb3.x guests always saw the full color. http://www.plusevgaming.com/forums/ Any help with this is greatly appreciated!

How do I make the view content available to guests? Can anyone explain how I can do this? For me, I don't think guests should be restricted from seeing content - especially in the easiest formats possible because they encourage activity. Also, it's weird. The activity stream is available but this isn't? I don't get that.

How would I link to logout in IPB 4? I see the URL now has csrfKey... logout/?csrfKey=84cdb6ae2e156b212c1ae94cf921e555 Without this... "The CSRF protection key did not match." How do I get that csrf variable? I don't see it in IPS\Member Object. I just want to make a simple link that can be placed outside of IPB to log members out.

As these days it's good to have SSL encryption, I tried to set IPB4 to https-only. However, I ran into some issues... 1. Some stuff doesn't work anymore. Liking posts doesn't work, the popup when hovering over a profile pic isn't showing, etc. 2. IPB4 seems to load some internal ressources (pictures, etc.) from http://. That seems to be fixed somewhere. Has anyone solved these issues already? Can IPB4 fully run with SSL or does only the login dialogue load properly?
