Hey everybody-- I am a long-time user of old Invision software through the InvisionFree system, and I have recently opened up a new IPB forum, which I am quite close to making public. I am trying to teach myself HTML and CSS now as well, so that I can well customize and improve the board. I am running into some issues, however, on which I would like some guidance. I found only archive topics function, which is useless for me, because I don't need old topics in some forums at all. I want to delete them and their attachments. How can I do that? For example, delete all topics in a specific forum which has the latest reply posted one year ago or earlier? Ideally, I want to make that every day automatically.

Is there a way to set the search length? A member is trying to search for a 3 letter word I know has been used a lot and it's not coming up. I suspect there might be excluded words like "the", but this shouldn't be one of them, it's SBB.

Hello, I have a home page in my community which uses the 'Announcements' block (which I removed from every other page). The announcement widget has a display character limit which if you exceed requires you to click on the title and go to the announcement page to see the rest of the entry. I would like the announcement widget to display the full length of the message. Any tips on how to do this? Or how to create a simple block where I can write text without any character limit? Currently when viewing a user's profile, it looks bleak with just a dark gray background. Would there be a way to edit this to be some type of image by default as opposed to the standard gray? Thanks in advance for the help.

We have been struggling with this for a while now and I'm hoping someone may have done something similar at this point. I am looking to create a sidebar block, which pulls through fields from the record database (in this case contact information). However, using record tags such as {$record->customFieldDisplayByKey('content')} Doesn't return the value. I assume this is because there is no Dispatcher being run on the blocks? And while we're able to use the dispatcher in this sense on other areas of the site, as soon as we try put the dispatcher into a block - it doesn't work. Is there a way to pull through a record's data to a sidebar block? Surely this …

For some reason I can't view uploaded MP4 and basic videos taken on devices on my iPad or iPhone. (YouTube and other videos linked via URL's are fine, just videos uploaded to the Board) When I click on the video link in a post I get a black screen with a start triangle/arrow in the middle but nothing happens when I click it. I can open uploaded videos in QuickTime Player on my iMac and view it. Any idea what's going on? I am on the most recent updated version of IPS Board.

Heres the problem, I was on my phone wanting to merge 2 topics, one was on page 1 and the other on page 2 so I was unable to use the checkbox system as you can only use if on the same page (feature request?), so I clicked merge under moderation actions on the new topic and entered the URL in for the old topic. Now usually I'm given a screen with what topic title I would like to keep but it just threw up an error saying topic title not valid. Weird, I went back to the forum and the topic had been merged however it kept the new topic title, topic starter and date. Obviously I changed the topic title easy enough and edited the topic starter user id and name in phpm…

Quite often I only need to press enter once, and some posters have a unique posting style compared to others. After an upgrade to 4.0, all posts look the same with every enter becoming a new paragraph. Then if I go into editor and change one line when pressing enter, it destroys quotes and makes them look like it has no padding (except when there are large gaps at the top of a quote when someone pressed enter twice now which looks equally as bad) As an example, someone is posting a starting 11 for a match today. Hi, I have a web application written in PHP where I would like to reuse the logins from our forum, running IPB 4.1. I'm trying to wrap my head around the usage of ipsconnect.php, but I'm unable to get a proper starting point. Does anyone have a barebones script that will connect to ipsconnect.php and send the passkey? Any proper resources to get me started would also be greatly appreciated.

Man it's been a pretty big hassle with all the requirements I'd had to ensure I met... anyhow now it's telling me this: Yet I've already performed the UTF-8 conversion a couple days ago to ensure I was ready for the upgrade. but I go ahead and click the button like a good boy for it to convert it again anyways and it just spits out: Error: mysqli::mysqli(): Headers and client library minor version mismatch. Headers:50544 Library:50623 File: /system/Db/Db.php Line: 112 So I can't complete the upgrade... and my community is currently inaccessible until then.
