Hi, i have a pages database, and i would like RSS feeds to only export a bit of the content. Yet they are exporting the whole content, which makes it easier to loose visitors. Does anyone knows how to limit/truncate the RSS output? Thank you in advance.

I was asked to add a bunch of checkboxes to a commerce package and it looked easy. However the invoices and notifications when purchased just list a numerical value, presumably corresponding to the list order, instead of the name of the checkbox item. Is there any way to get a human-readable value out of a store custom field checkbox set?

I want my users to be able to create their own albums so they can add to them later. I don't want all photo's dumped in one album. I know I can create more categories, but that doesn't help a user create their own album.

From support: There is no way in which to set a different start page for guests and members. I want to be able to show different groups different front pages. For example if the visitor is a guest I'd like to show them how to join and why the should. If its a member in 'group a' i'd like to show them 'group a' assets and so on. I don't think I can do this w/the pages module. Or is it possible if I use the right code within that page? I used to be able to customize menu views per group in the global template, but IPS has changed alot since then. Any help would be greatly appreciated

So I'm attempting to make a custom layout and can't get very far here in pages so apparently I'm missing a step somewhere. 1. I go in templates, select new -> add page template -> Name it -> put it in folder for layout 2. I go to pages -> Add page -> Use Page Builder (only 2,3, and single column) templates are available. (Not what I want, starting over) 2a. I go to pages -> Add page -> Manual HTML -> Can enter some custom HTML here, but can't apply the custom template from step 1. So what am I missing in trying to get this page template created in step one, applied to a page? Thanks for the help.

Is it possible to set the perPage value? It seem to default to 25. I need it to be something like 10 in one case and 50 in another. I'm attempting to make an online highscore feature for my game projects. I finally figured out how to create/display a database record via REST, now just trying to get all these little nagging issues resolved so I can come up with a working solution. I guess I would need to make a custom template to display the data. That is the next step to figure out, sigh. How to make custom templates. Any way, if anyone has any advice on how best to do what I'm trying to do, would be most appreciated. Thanks.

How do I turn off "associate with products" within Downloads? Members share their files for free or sell their uploaded files in Downloads but the "associate with products" don't make any sense to me. Can I turn this off in the admin control panel? Or do I have to modify I template? The attached screen capture is from when a member is uploading a file. Notice how there is free, paid, and associate with products. I want to remove associate with products. I have not set up any products so I am not sure why it is showing up. Any help will be appreciated.

Hi everyone, I have a question about using the forum's WYSIWYG system. I'm new to this because my old forum was using bbcodes. How do I draw a line in the forum post? If I don't have access to 'Source' (html) and doing <hr> ? I don't see any buttons with line drawing? (Sorry for the stupid question)

Hello, attachments are part of the postings and can't be hided individually. OK, got it. But what does the permission setting "download attachments" exactly mean, especially for guests who do not have an attachment center? What is different if I uncheck the box for guests? I found a couple of topics about this issue here at ipb but none of them contained a helpful answer. Thanks in advance for any answer. rgds

I am using the 5 member (free) version of IPS chat on my site and I have noticed a bug with it that I cannot figure out or fix. Namely, I can only see my text when I type in the chatroom, but not anyone else's that is typing. This happens in both main and private chat tabs/windows, and ONLY when the application is set to open inside the forum community. When I set it to open in a new window, this problem no longer exists and I am able to view everyone's posts just fine. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

Hi all, I have two forums of a decent size with many members and many validating members So I set up the setting in ACP to prune validating members who haven't responded to the email validation thing after 7 days This has never worked I've changed it to 1 day, to 3 weeks and still nothing Any idea how I can get this working and how I can run a task or something to prune these members off my validating list?

I was wondering if there is any way you can easily assign points to large groups of members. My (gaming) community has a training once a week and I would like to assign points to each member that attends, lets say I have 60 members total and 50 of them attend, I would like to assign those 50 an attendance point and maybe the other 10 a missing practice point. Is there some way to easily do this? Perhaps a list of members where I can +1 or -1 a point? Or is there something available on the marketplace that can be used for this?

Hi! This is probably obvious, sorry about that, but where can I get the default smilies for IPS4? I don't have them since I converted from vBulletin5 and it took the smilies from there instead.. I guess they are in the IPS4 download folder as well, but couldn't find them in there. (Didn't know where to look, theres a lot of stuff in there! :P). Cheers.

Hi, Is there a way to send email notifications to only one of the administrators (I have 8 members of such group) and none of the moderators when a content needs approval? Or where is the option to choose who can approve content on the forum? Thanks!

I'm having a hard time figuring out how to get this plugin installed, I just downloaded the file. According to this read me:http://www.devfuse.com/forums/tutorials/article/162-install-application-guide/ It says I need to install a tar file through the AdminCP? I just downloaded this zip file, unzipped it and the only thing inside is an Install Read Me, Upgrade from 3.x and another video zip file - but no tar file. When I unzip the 2nd video zip file, I get a bunch of files, but still no tar. So how do I install this plugin?
