I'd like to create a block where I can display the image that is uploaded into a custom profile field. Currently I have this content in the database within field_30 so I need to be able to pull that image path to display. Basically I have a custom profile field where members can upload a logo. I'd like to create a block to show all the logos horizontally. Is it something like {$record->field_30} which doesn't work and then in the database the file path is after the /uploads/.....so not sure if there is a good way to pull and build the url to show within an img src tag.

Our community requires user registration and log in in order to access any content (aside from the guideline/privacy pages). However, when looking at the online users list - there are often lots of "guests." Looking at the IP addresses, these are folks who have landed on the login or registration page. As these guests often have the same IP address as identified/registered users (after the login), it clutters the overall display of online users. Is there any way to prevent guests from showing up on the online users tab? Thanks! Be well, Howie (Digital Community Manager, USCJ)

We have a forum which holds release updates for our software. We would like to automate subscribing all our customers to this forum for email notifications based of our "newsletter" option on our actual website. Eg I will export a list of all the customers subscribed to our news letter and I'd like to add them to the notification list for our news forum. There is about 40 major clients so this is feasible to do by hand. How can I manually add users to the subscription list of a subforum? My forum has a lot of YouTube videos embedded in many topics. The problem I have is that the YouTube thumbnails does not show when I share a video topic to social media (see screenshot attached). Hey guys, I hope you can help me out. When changing my server I copied the entire community (tar of all folders and files) and the database to the new server. I am not sure if this didn't break some stuff, as e.g. I do not get any more update notifications on the community (the black or red bar above the content or the hint in the ACP) only an e-mail notification. I alway have to go to the support section and select "something isn't working correctly" to be able to upgrade in the ACP. So my question now is: Is it a save way to just delete all the files and folders (except uploads for images etc, backing up and re-uploading afterwards). Upload a fresh installatio…

I'm changing the subdomain on my website, and I've ran into a problem where none of the Font Awesome stuff that IPS uses will load due to the domain change: It's remembering the old domain and not allowing access due to the difference. I've changed the domain in all of the usual places, and cleared the datastore - what am I missing, where is Font Awesome referenced?

There's a bit of a strange phenomenon on my site. If I click a drop-down menu, quite often the revealed series of items disappears before I can click it. It's particularly obvious if I move the mouse slowly but it's fairly regular even if I move the mouse immediately to the first item. Here's an example where I move the mouse slowly on a default theme, followed by similar slow movement on IPS's site for comparison's sake: It's not just with slow movement though. We're having an issue where some members mistake the field in a user's profile for posting a public message, for a shortcut to sending a PM. As you can imagine, this has the potential to be quite embarrassing for the parties concerned (and has proven so at least once already), so I'd like to be able to disable this feature somehow. I'm assuming that the simplest way would be to remove the field that allows the message to be posted in the first place, but I can't see any way to do it. I'd appreciate some advice on this issue, either in the form of instructions to remove the field in question, or a better way to achieve the desired outcome. Kev

How do I embed i.e. Facebook messages on the site. According the following setting it sounds possible but so far I have no such luck doing it. Certain content can be automatically embedded. For example, if a user posts a link to a video on YouTube or Vimeo the video can be embedded into the post. Changing this setting won't apply to existing content.Links from the following sites are supported: College Humor, Facebook, Flickr, Gfycat, Google+, Hulu, Instagram, SoundCloud, Spotify, Ted, Twitter, Vimeo, Vine, YouTube, and internal links to content within the community.
