I know this is probably something that is fixed in IPB 4, but we have been trying to get everything running on SSL on our board. It is currently running 3.4.8 but is due to be upgraded to the current version of 4.x as soon as we have a backup in place. So for now we are trying to get SSL to work fully, which it kind of does. We setup everything in cPanel and enabled everything. We then modified conf_global.php. At this point the forum loads as https and all links clicked on too. The problem comes when the private messaging system is used. The following error comes up regardless of length of message. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix the problem it would be…

Hoping someone here can help me as I'm still learning the ropes of IPS. I've purchased a theme and have done a handful of edits to it so far, pretty easy so far. But when it comes to editing the animated scroller background in the header, I didn't see any where in the Theme settings to edit this. Also, I'm trying to edit the forum category background, where it says "News & Announcements". Hey guys, in my AdminCP the content breakdown is not visible for me (using Chrome). As far as I can tell this only happens when there needs to be more than 1 bar (e.g. forum post and blog comment). For users which only posted in one section it shows the colored bar. If there needs to be more than 1 bar the entire bar ist just gray. After examining the page I could see that the code is actually there, it is just not displayed with a hint that it may be blocked by a parser-block, cross site script? It does the same for the single colored bars, but as mentioned I can see them. Any hints on how to solve this problem? Might this be a problem on my end or do I ha…

Hi everyone, I might be doing something wrong here. I'm trying to use the upsell option with a couple of my products available in my store. The upsell part works fine however, I can only upsell when associated with the other product I wish to upsell with. I get this, it makes sense however I get an "Associate With" drop down on my product page when the first product has been added to the shopping cart. I don't want my members to see this, the only association I require is to upsell. Here's a screenshot of what I'm talking about. Can products be associated without showing the "Associate With" drop down on the product page? Thanks :)

I am having serious site speed issues and am trying to find settings in my ACP that will speed things up. I use memcached and in that area I see this setting: Check IP address when validating session? (If your site is likely to be used by many users in an intranet situation (such as an office or university), you may need to disable this setting to prevent users being logged out. However, when disabled, there is a greater risk of session hijacking. In most environments, this setting should be left on.) Hi there, One of the things we miss from XenForo is the ability to quickly access "Warn user" and "Flag as spammer" directly at a post level. I understand you can access it by hovering over the member's username/avatar and clicking via the Member Card. This works quite well for Desktop: But on mobile responsive view, it is not possible to hover. In XenForo the links were inside the Comment Controls (in IPS, the Reactions/Quote/Edit link area) example: And this worked well because you can access them even on mobile responsive view. Hello, I am running invision community v4.3.6 and I have been tasked with re-incorporating some of my company's custom code back into the software after it was upgraded from v4.1.19.4. I'm getting frustrated because when I try to debug the software, or even if I am running the software and have an IDE open viewing the code, then the software will freeze up until I close the IDE. I have the software running in xampp using php 5.6.32. I installed xdebug & am attempting to debug the software with either visual studio code or eclipse. Both IDEs give me the same problems. Could someone please tell me where the files for messenger are located. I just recently moved my site to a new server. It seems like something might be missing. I have had so much trouble getting my site to even work so I hate to mess with any files that might take it back down. Any help would be much appreciated. Edit: I found the messenger file under applications/core/sources/messenger coping those did not help. It is not only messerger that does not allow text input it is also the Forums.

In our 'topic' template, we've added a custom ad location like this: {advertisement="footerad"} This shows an add below the quick reply box. We're new to IPB and I've done some searching, but everything I've found so far is too complex for what we need. All we want to do is wrap that tag in a conditional, so that it only appears if the topic has at least X replies. This stops us showing too many ads on topics with not many replies. We also have one ad after first post, so we don't really want to show the footer ad when there is only one post for example. Hello, I seem to keep getting this error with using the default theme. My website even went offline after trying to disable all 3 party plugins only showing that error any ideas? Here's a strange one that I just noticed today. My visitor count most online for Wednesday (21st November) is 1,140 according to the block (see below): Yet according to the ACP stats it's not (see below) I cannot image so many people visiting especially as I've not pushed the site out there in any way as it's still a WIP. No signs of spammers or new registrations, nothing in the moderators panel. Puzzling?? Anyone else experienced this?

We have upgraded large board a week ago. We have a lot of rebuilding content tasks running and we estimate they will run for some weeks. We have nothing in the search so far (Elastic), activity streams are empty. Can we start rebuilding search index along with rebuilding content? Did somebody try to do it?

I've taken over management of a site that was running ips 3.4 until very recently, we are now on 4.3 and one of the changes that is frustrating is the change from likes to reactions. On 3.4 we could see who liked a post, but in 4.3 the reactions are private and I cant find a setting to make visible who reacted, am I missing something?

Hi, We haven't made any changes or updated any apps or plugins but suddenly out of the blue the front of the site whitescreens in firefox. In chrome we get this error: This page isn’t working www.walkingfootball.com is currently unable to handle this request. HTTP ERROR 500 Does anyone have any ideas why this could have happened?
