I'm trying to understand how to correctly use the Database Relationship Field in an IPS pages database and greatly appreciate any help. Basically, I've created two databases: stories and chapters. The story database contains the story genre/summary/etc. The chapters database contains the story's chapters. When a user visits a story record, I'd like the chapters of the related story to appear as a list of clickable links (so the user can click on and read each chapter). Is this possible with the pages app, or am I misunderstanding how the database relationship field works? If it is possible, could someone please walk me through how this is done? Or if t…

Hi there! For my site's anniversary, we usually have special birthday forums for members to post in. For some reason, when trying to add images to the forum desciptions (we just update them from previous years), my images are resizing automatically. Any ideas why? I attached a screenshot - the images are all actually the size of the heart image, which for some reason didn't resize. The balloons and the cake shrunk, and even when I specified a height of 150 and width of 150, the size didn't change/update. Is there a means or method (or plugin) of automatically moving topics from one forum to another after a certain cut off date? For example I have a breaking news forum which I use to put the latest news in, but I don't want those topics staying in that forum for longer than, say, 30 days, and after that time they are moved automatically to another forum called, say, Older News. Is this doable? WIth thanks

Hi, I want to use Secondary group promotion to offer a product discount. User buys an event ticket so is promoted to a group (ATTENDEES) ATTEDNDEES get a discount on the next event if they buy the next ticket inside x days of the last event finishing. All of the above I have working just fine. How do I demote users from ATTENDEES group after x days? I looked in the Group Promotion Rules and i'm not sure if its possible? Can anyone help with this? Hello. I can't figure out how to view database records. There's a Database with different Categories and each Category has various Records. Shouldn't the link to view a Record be domain.com/database/category/record? When I type this in the site automatically redirects me back to domain.com/database/category/ The text preceding the Custom URL field for each record is domain.com/page/{page}/{category}/ Why is /page/{page}/ there and how do I get rid of it? Can someone more knowledgeable help me out? Thank you.

Scenario: Moving an IPBoard, as an example, from: invisioncommunitysite.com (older IPBoard version) to site.com/invision (newer recently upgraded IPBoard version) I would like any old URL on the former to be taken to the index of the new latter location (many URLs/pages have changed, so like for like is not practical). I am getting lost in all the different 301 permanent codes there are! Could someone perhaps advise what would be the best bit of 301 redirect code to use here, to order mimimise any lost google juice etc and point to the new location. Thank you very much

For some reason when I upload a rank image it's size is being reduced by 30% is this by design or is there somewhere this can be changed? Original image size that I upload is 201 x41 pixels but when uploaded it is reduced in size to 140 x 29 pixels - equivalent to a 30% reduction. When looking at the CSS there appears to be a margin/padding either side of the image, but there is no corresponding CSS and even if there were there is no explanation for the size change. Anyone any idea what's happening here and why - and importantly for me where it's happening and can it be changed? With thanks.

Hello I have an odd one here. I have made changes in Menu Manager. Saved them. And then Published them. ....but, the changes that I made are not showing on the front end. Still showing the previous menu I had up there. No matter how many times I refresh or try to do it. (Interestingly the Preview at the bottom within Admin is showing the changes. Just not uploaded to the site). Any idea what might be stopping it from updating.... and how I could fix this? Thank you!

Hi all, I'm hoping I can get some help wit this, and maybe i'm missing something obvious, but how to I best manage a store? I'm currently struggling with: 1. displaying list of who has bought a product. If I could have this as an automatically updated page that would be great! 2. Having an easy way to check inventory? These are the main two, but overall compared to something like WooCommerce on wordpress its a difficult system to use.

I have just updated to Firefox v65 and are seeing some weird display issues...for example when a slider is off (see attachment) however this issue is not on Chrome or Edge...it is also displayed this way on the official IPS site so it isn't just with my site

We just found out that it appears that our users all have the "View Signatures" button turned OFF in their Signatures settings. From what I have read - this is supposed to be ON by default. So, my 2 questions I'd love some help on are: 1) How do we turn everyone's "View Signatures" field on across the entire site? (we thought it might be a field in the members table which we could run a SQL command on, but it doesn't look like that's the case. 2) How do we set a default so that all new users get created with "View Signatures" turned on? For SEO purposes, is it possible to define a custom/friendly URL for a given Activity Stream URL? Example: /index.php?app=core&module=discover&controller=streams&id=6 has a FURL of /discovery/6 How can I redefine a given /discover/6 to something like /xyz I see where there are custom FURL entries in AdminCP but the actual URL has to be something that ends in /index.php?... I guess I could add a redirect in .htaccess but was looking for a way to customize this via IPS
