I just noticed that I have a bunch of posts where emojis where replaced with a question mark. I already double checked the database setup, and the correct encoding seems to be used everywhere. Moreover, in a few test posts I created, emojis were created fine. Has anybody else experienced the same issue? Any idea of what is the cause?

I've been running MySQL for years and there are various topics on here regarding those who are using MariaDB. I just upgraded all my sites to 4.5 and moved to PHP 7.4 while still on MySQL 5.6, now EOL. I'm inclined to just move to MySQL 5.7 and call it a day, but was wondering what everyone's thoughts were about moving to MariaDB 10.3 instead. Any real benefits? I've added a poll, just wondering what everyone uses. What does IPS use for their hosted customers?

I've done it in the past and it worked but now with all the new changes I can't find the information for rebuilding a custom email. In the past I started to sell a product from my vendor. So every time a customer bought this item it sent a email to the my vendor and had shipping info and the list of the invoice for the supplier. Currently I've got the old stock email but need to add in the invoice info like product bought, and mailing address to the customer. As fro the variables you can use I know there is more but what is valid and where to find a current list?

Another weird problem today. Updated to 4.5.5 about a week ago, everything has been working fine. Initially had an issue with 3rd party updates not loading and this was fixed by my ISP switching my server from mod_php to FCGI. Tonight the Admin center won't load it's CSS files. I can log in no problem, just no formatting. The main site is running fine. No software changes have been made to the site since the upgrade. Stable for over a week. I use a whitelist in htaccess (in the admin dir) for the access control to /admin. Only change made on the server was yesterday in the /admin htaccess file. Is there anyone else who has their live development build on a sub-domain of their original site, and also their file structure in a folder in their sites root (not their server root.) My dev build constantly experiences problems, and I'm wondering if it's this particular folder / sub-domain structure that's causing it...? Like is the software getting confused because some series of backslashes is finding the folders it's looking for at too high a level in the folder tree or something? Should I move it outside of the sites root to the servers root so it's parallel to the main sites folder structure and not inside it? Here are just some of the issues: • Theme file…

This error was on my site: [[Template gallery/front/view/comments is throwing an error. This theme may be out of date. Run the support tool in the AdminCP to restore the default theme.]] I could fix it by duplicating of my custom style and setting this as a new default style. When giving it into the google search it throws out some other sites having this or similar template errors. And by the way, often my style fu*** up by itself without any reason. Hi, so I have an instance of IP board running in one container. MySQL in the second one and the third one is Redis. Eveyrthing is up and running, but in ACP I'm unable to select any database cache. All options are disabled.

I am in the process of moving to a newer server, but I am getting a 500 page error due to redis being enabled. My host is handling the migration but I have no idea how to resolve this issue, I had a old contraints.php file saved with Redis turned off but switching file names around has no effect. I'm a little fish in a massive pool and I have no clue.

I am looking at moving my site from my current great hosting platform (liquidweb) to using something like Google Cloud to help me start getting my foot in the door with Cloud Computing. Yea, I know AWS is the leader in this space but they did get over 6 years head start when the cloud boom was happening. Had anyone deployed Invision Community in Google Cloud? I see a ton of Wordpress sites for around $18/month in the Google Marketplace but who wants that crap where they nickel, dime you to death with every little thing you want to do? Greetings! I was reviewing a group in my IPS System. The the right of each group name is a column titled "Members". When I click on the number indicating the number of members in the group, it takes me to to a list of each member in that group. It also gives me the option to delete the user. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of thinking I was removing the member from the group when, in fact, it deletes the member for IPS! Is there a way to restore the member? Thank you!

Hi, Normally my server load is around 1 or a bit lower but time to time it just peaks to 10s. During that time I trace to processes ( using WHM / cPanel ) and find out that several requests like follows are logged. Seems there is a program looking for a poor php that it can attack. Actually I dont worry about them cause that is internet but the some pages get an error page from IPS script as ; The page you requested does not exist Error Code 1S160/2 which I believe causes the load to server where others just get a white blank page. I've installed wordpress on my site (not with Wordpress.com but the version you can install on your own site). I quickly noticed that there was a notification that I should upgrade my PHP to version 7.4. Someone told me to be careful about upgrading PHP because it could interfere with other installed software. I have an Invision forum installed at my site too, so my question is: Can I safely ask my hosting company to upgrade my PHP to 7.4 without affecting Invision Board? Thanks in advance for any help, KL

Hi all, I am at the early stages of migrating/converting a big old forum. To give an idea of numbers, if I can get our archives back in nicely, it currently sits at around 15k forums, 150k topics, 8 mill posts. We currently use many of our forums a lot like clubs are used here, so I'm planning to shift a bunch of those forums to clubs (I'm guessing 2-3k clubs, with avg 4-6 forums inside each one.) During the conversion process, I've already run into a couple of snags that make it clear that most IPS sites are not dealing with this volume (for example, assigning group permissions to forums appears to be designed for a couple of dozen forums.... Hi Everyone, We are a new user of Invision, and have setup a private (no guest access) community that will serve a few thousand people. I have been doing Apache Bench testing while trying to optimise our configuration. What I have noticed is that when I setup Redis (locally on the server) that our benchmark tests actually were consistently slower. Now I did expect there to be overhead of adding another component and caching calls into the mix, but my assumption was that the benefit of caching would surely outweigh this overhead. I've got a 10 year old site that's got about 65,000 users. Over the years a lot of the member email addresses have gone bad. The problem is I can't find a way to stop emails going to bad email addresses. Yes, there are horribly complicated ways to do it, but they're not practical when there are many hundreds of bad emails. I'm aware of Mail Bouncer, but when I tried it I found that none of it's supported mail services allow adult content. So it's not an option for me. Recently I tried the "Force User to Change Email Address" plugin, which unvalidates the email. But IP.Board keeps sending emails even though the email addresses are no longer validated. IMHO, the o…

Hello, I use the commerce application to have users of my platform to purchase membership (subscription). My platform offers 2 packages: 1) Membership, lifetime 10EUR 2) Membership, monthly 5EUR Currently, when people buy the 1st membership they can't buy the 2nd one aswell. We wanted it to work like they could buy the 1st one and also the 2nd one. But it seems that you can only have 1 active subscription and not 2? Also users can't upgrade from 1 to 2? Hello, When I log into the CP-Admin the firewall notifies me every time there is abnormal activity to finally allow me to block what it considers to be abnormal activity. The result is that the connection time is considerably longer. Why does Invision need to log on to www.gstatic.com when I log on to my administrator interface?

Hello, any ideas what could cause 500 error when i am changing php version to 7.3 or higher? Forum runs on CentOS 8, Webmin/Virtualmin. By default highest php version was 7.2.24 and i installed 7.3, 7.4 and 8.0 dnf -y install http://rpms.remirepo.net/enterprise/remi-release-8.rpm && dnf clean all dnf -y install php73-php-{cli,pdo,fpm,zip,gd,xml,mysqlnd} dnf -y install php74-php-{cli,pdo,fpm,zip,gd,xml,mysqlnd} dnf -y install php80-php-{cli,pdo,fpm,zip,gd,xml,mysqlnd} But forum runs only on default 7.2.24.
