Like many folks on here judging from related topics, I have been experiencing the rather pesky message when trying to log in and/or change theme... Hopefully this helps someone else... In my case, it was on localhost but ONLY in Chrome and Edge browsers (Windows 10). Normally I use Firefox, which worked fine. I found a clue in Chrome's devtools mentioning the domain attribute being invalid: In my install I have a constants.php with cookie constants, this one was was set to: define( 'COOKIE_DOMAIN', '.localhost' ); I removed the . from before the domain define( 'COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'localhost' ); and it immediately logged me in using …

Greetings! I moved my forum from self-hosted to Invision's cloud-based service this past summer. I had ElasticSearch setup on my forum, and I was running a local instance so it was relatively straightforward. Now that I'm on Invision's servers, I need to set this up again. I can continue to run ES (or OpenSearch) on one of my own dedicated servers, but I want to make sure that only my forum can reach the ElasticSearch server, so I need to setup some sort of authentication. I want to customize postbit and show some custom data from an external database(mysql) by matching IPS Forum ID and user id from custom data(in external db). I tried to edit postContainer template and do this but I couldn't fetch data from the external db and match the ids etc. because there is a lot of PHP code requirement in order to do this. I know that I can use blocks to write multi line PHP code but if I use blocks then I can't pass the post author's forum id as a parameter. Can anyone help me about it?

One of my colleague use Mac. We are trying to create a clone of the website on his localhost so he can work. We had some success but we are stuck at the last step. After everything is ready, for some reason CSS doesn't work (neither in admin or front area). I noticed admin area doesn't load critical CSS like core core, framework, responsive. Frontend area does load it but I noticed some of them are completely empty like "core responsive". I tried deleting datastore, even disabling caching. I cleared cache in admin area multiple times too. But CSS resources won't load.

Hello, I've got some simple plugin on my installation, which has been abandoned by its maintainer. After last "8.x" upgrade, it has to be disabled as it has been using some obsolete things. I want to fix it by my own. Going with developer mode seems not necessary for me, as I can just disable access to community for some time to check what kind of error will come. How I can come with some "force" of plugin enable, or at least check which function is currently obsolete and should be checked by me? Thanks Luke

I think its more of what would be called "Mention" but the setting in the theme setting for "Mention" doesn't seem to alter it, but I'm looking to change this setting. I had a guy here do a mod for me and he did it and it works great but I want to change this, which I think is a function of the board that I should be able to change? In the first box that indicates the user is "found"...so it pretty much just like a mention. Lately I've noticed that when logging in to my adminCP the login process has gotten noticeably slower, and when I check my browser I find that it's trying to contact sites such as gstatic.com, googletagmanager.com (or something like that) and one other. The delay contacting these sites sometimes leads to the adminCP half-loading (e.g. with income and registration graphs broken). If I Ctrl-F5 everything's fine again. I realise these are external sites but was just wondering if there's anything that can be done on the Invision end of things to address this?

Hello, please I need your input. Due to technical issues I am forced to disable friendly urls, otherwise my forum is completely broken and unreadable when inside the forum, untill other things change, I dont see it happening faster than 3 4 days from now, and I already am without them 3 days now. my forum has 1.800.000 posts and visited by 250.000 uniques per month and all of the traffic comes from google , mostly in greek language/greece europe. all those links are friendly urls. they all, now, instead of taking you to each thread, take you to only the home page. Hello! I need a tip on how I can delete large topics (10K posts each) but keep first 2 pages+ url for seo purposes? I have more than 300 such topics that I want to "prune" but keeping for seo and history purposes their first, 2 pages. My target is to get rid of at least 1.000.000 posts that dont provide any serious content that i need to have, in a forum that is not making money out of impressions or traffic to those places , so its just baggage.

I am struggling with CKEditor on AWS environment. CKEditor does not load properly sometimes. When I click on the editor to add text, it does not open the editor. I have tried many different cache settings with no success, even no caching for CKeditor folder. Anyone using AWS Cloudfront + EC2 could tell the optimal cache settings? Thanks!

Hello, I've setup a custom field called "Text", where people can write a description. This Custom Field is shown on purchase of an advertisement. Because i want them to upload an image and the text should be layered above that. Im wondering how i could 'request' the data of the custom field. Is that even possible?

Hello, I started getting this error after updating to 4.7.5. It mostly happen on the registration page and in the admin panel. FastCGI sent in stderr: "PHP message: PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 536870912 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 20480 bytes) in /public/system/Node/Model.php on line 2429" while reading response header from upstream I tried disabling some plugins, same issue. No system or errors logs in the admin panel. I have also tried raising the PHP memory limit from 256MB to 512MB. PHP: 8.1.13 Mysql: 8.0.31 Nginx: 1.18 Thank you.
