"Click here to show filter options" is rather out of sight out of mind at the bottom of the page and I'm pretty sure some of my less tech savvy members will wonder why they can only see certain posts because of restriction, particularly in my classifieds categories where I have 90 day limits on topics shown...for example. Any way to have the options show all of the time?

For being able to make new settings, someone may want to be able to list the different available applications as a menu selection. Much like #show_groups# and #show_forums#.

I have thought about a new thing for IPB 3.0.x version. Adding a new License Key area to an installation or an upgrade process. To make a long story short, the member should put his "license key" on a field (like in Windows XP / VISTA / Windows 7 / Other OS).

Hi! This is the most devestated change Invision Power have made since the beginning of IPB3. First time I looked on the "Hosted Communities" I was speechless. All those limitations! I've used the hosted feauture by IPS for a long time and I like it alot. Before the release of IPB3 I was planning to upgrade my existing site and had some more projects that I was going to launch. I was going to use the IP Hosted Communities for those but now it won't be possible. I contacted the staff asking if my existing board was going to be affected by any change in their hosting plans. They told me that my board was going to remain the same, and I thank you for that! I want to e…

When at the main homepage for invisionpower.com, it says "My Account" at the top, which I think is great. However, once I am in "My Account", I am looking at "Your Tickets", "Your Invoices" etc. Any way to change that to "My Tickets," "My Invoices," "My Downloads" etc? Just a small nitpicky thing, kinda makes it feel more personal in my opinion.

Can we add a option to match exact phrase? Its a pain when searching for something to see a bunch of stuff that has one or two words of the phrase even though its not what we were searching for.

Positive Feedback… I have been with IPB long time and I am holding three IPB board licenses… When I first started with IPB all my friends were laughing at me they did not understand why I am going with IPB and all those years they were using Vbulletin and I always feel that IPB is the right company for me and they did not understand why I am doing this… Yesterday I met with those friends for a cup of coffee and the first subject was about IPB and they want to convert their boards to IPB… Yes I felt proud… I would like to thank to IPB team for bringing software (Script) that uses latest technology, styles and features…. Thank you IPB TEAM…

If you have a forum with many subforumus, it's a pain to set for every subcategory the same forum rules of the main category. There is a possibility to make a setting to multiply the same forum rules to all the subforums within or other solution would be welcomed for this.

Since IE and Opera do not support use-moz and webkit, why did IPB incorporate them so extensively in 3.0? Surely you don't think it will influence MS ;)

Also would be nice if the popup with the differences needs to be closed clicking on the close button because if you click by mistake outside it you need to click again compare differences. (probably you can make this change also in 3.0.1 instead of 3.1 :P )[*]A nice addition in ACP would be to make the same modular thing made for the groups also for the forums, I know a lot of mods out there adds settings to each forum and a system like the one used for the group permissions would help a lot modders.[*]Can you please add 2 more parameters ($lang_file and $app) in the getTemplate function of the hanEmail class? If we use an email template from another file we ned to load …

In 2.3.6, it was possible to view a user's profile through a link in the Manage Members section of the ACP. It would open in a new window so you could look at the member's most recent posts and topics. This was useful for helping determine if new users were spammers or not. This functionality has been removed in 3.0.0. Now in order to view a member's posts and topics one has to open another browser window in the regular forum and do a second search. It would be nice to either have a tab added that shows the recent posts/topics, or a link which allows such a search from the ACP.

As reported recently, the fastest growing demographic in social networking is women age 55+. The age group 35-54 is also growing at a significant pace. My suggestion is to take those groups more into consideration when creating or implementing future designs/features. Perhaps use focus groups for their feedback. http://www.istrategylabs.com/2009/07/ While a lot of new things on IP3 are nice I find that most people in the 35-54 age group don't pay much attention to them. The reputation system is not at all on their radar. At least not in the group I have. Priority number one in my view is ease of use and easy on the eyes. Warmer colors. Present front page text is too …

When you edit a post it generates the last edited message. It would be usefull if administrators and moderators could click on this message and be able to compare the different versions of the post as it was edited, this would prevent a user from posting an offencive post and then editing it before a moderator could review the post thus leaving the staff with no convicting evidence. This also prevents members from falsly accusing members of posting offencive content and claiming that they edited out the content just before.

[*]Allow member groups (and maybe other things too) to be changed along with changing the topic. This was a feature that I used extensively when I was using ZetaBoards and going without it has made things a bit more complicated. [*]To make sure that the above didn't get abused, allow admins to specify specific users or groups who can use the multi-moderation, instead of making it globally available to moderators. These would be really helpful to me. I don't know how many other admins would make use of these improvements, but it might be worth looking at.

[suggestion] invisible visible by poster

I hope IPB developers consider this in a future release: Its useful for a poster to be able to view their posts which were set invisible. It saves admin and mods lots of PMs and inquiries about where their masterpieces had gone. It also allows mods to show the poster why it was set invisible, by adding a line to the invisible post. Currently I have to use a mod for that with every update. I do hope they add it at least as an option from ACP. Many thanks.

Place to enter text at top now? I thought it was better at the bottom. Will this be configurable in the ACP (top/bottom)?

With IPB 3 still a lot of peoples translate the php files instead of using the language manager in the ACP, can you please add a small notice at the top of each cached file telling the person to use the ACP to translate the language?

Are there any plans to incorporate some of the editor search features we had in the 2.3 series into 3.0? This is one feature that would really make life easier, imho.

This isn't directed at the software but at an individual, maybe consider a feeback spot for staff or devs or whatever. I have to say that out of everyone (everyone being staff/devs in this case) who is here, terabyte has helped me (with code error) more than all other staff/devs combined. He's a credit to the dev team and knows his stuff. Not long winded today so to sum it up: Thanks tb for your assistance buddy and thanks to whomever put him as a dev. peace

Had a few random suggestions from my members, who - after the upgrade - have taken a great liking to the statuses feature of 3.0... it's awesome, and having the latest ten displayed in the sidebar is also fantastic. The ability to comment on statuses (a la Facebook) would also be pretty awesome, if it could be done. But perhaps even more so - being able to see all of the latest status updates through 'Active Content'. Seeing the latest ten is great, but if you've been away for a while, and perhaps want to browse through the current statuses, there isn't really a way to do that. Even the ability to add it into topic view would be great. Just some thoughts, anyway - fo…

TSIA. Be able to do <#MEMBER_EMAIL#> and <#MEMBER_IP#> in the email sent to the admin, because sometimes it helps to determine right away if the person is legit or not before getting into the ACP. While going to log in, the admin could be doing a spam search for the email (or even modify the admin_newuser to make the email into a link) so it's easier to take action.
