Currently, if you setup an event to happen monthly, it falls on the same numerical day each month. Example: June 1st, 2024, every month means it'll recur on July 1st, August 1st, etc. It would be better for events that happen on say, every 1st Sunday of the month, to be able to setup recurrence for that.. so for June, July, August, it would be the 2nd, 7th, and 4th of the respective months.

Ability to Set Language in the URL For optimal SEO and multilingual support, it's important to allow setting the language in the URL. Instead of having multiple languages in a single URL like invisioncommunity.com/forums/, we should have separate URLs for each language, such as: invisioncommunity.com/en/forums/, invisioncommunity.com/es/forums/, etc. This approach helps search engines accurately identify content in specific languages, leading to improved rankings for those languages. Link Tags for Specific Languages When different languages are presented on separate URLs, we can also inform search engines and browsers where other…

Some things are not intended to be posted publicly because they may have consequences if seen by an unscrupulous person before the IPS team can fix them. However, I do not see any way to report such things directly to IPS. Am I missing something?

Because they function significantly differently in each format, combining them into one slider does not make sense at all.

Continuing from this topic: The board index (and I assume any forum listing) grabs every row from forums_forums, this could be 20k sub-forums. The board index should only grab nodes/categories with a parent ID of -1 and then any forums with those results as a parent, and sub-forums of that parent. The only reason I can think of that it's not done this way is to provide the correct "last post" info for the user's permissions. It would be nice to have an option to just limit the "last post" depth to 1 sub-forum deep and have a more performant forum.

Developer confirmed that there are no occurrences of "noindex" in his app. However, I found this meta tag for movie pages' source which are homepages to individual movies - <meta name="robots" content="noindex, follow"> The above tag is apparently rendered from IC source code. If you surf to the following URLs, you would see the above noindex meta tag rendered in the page's source. Excluded by ‘noindex’ tag as per Google Analytics /movies/movie/46-divergent/ /movies/movie/47-insurgent/ /movies/movie/48-allegiant/ Google is not crawling movie pages due to the above noindex meta tag which please resolve. Not sure if it is something appearing in V5, but having embeds from other platforms like the current Youtube auto embeds would be great! With TikTok and Insta reels hugely taken off the last few years, to have these embedded directly from the link would be a big step forward and increase engagement on posts! It's very hit or miss using these currently on 4 and I appreciate it is probably down to the platform themselves rather than a problem embedding into the board!

The default robots.txt on IC cloud is disallowing these - # Block faceted pages and 301 redirect pages Disallow: /*?sortby= Disallow: /*?filter= Disallow: /*?tab= Disallow: /*?do= Disallow: /*ref= Disallow: /*?forumId* Disallow: /*?&controller=embed After installing 2 below plugins, Google Analytics started reporting errors and 9K pages on our fairly new site got unindexed and traffic dwindled drastically: Pages Comments/Reviews Tab Order By @Adriano Faria (TB) Sort Questions Forums by Date By @teraßyte We also used the Movies app too that resulted in 5K similar errors ("Duplicate without user-selected canonical", etc) for the already a…

Is it possible for IPS to support embeds and sharelinks for Mastodon as it does with Twitter? I've seen people using sharelinks to Masterdon on their non-IPS sites.

Hello ! In future releases, will it be possible to display .avif images directly in messages ? At the moment, the .avif file is displayed as an attachment, even though the system saves it perfectly and my browser (obviously) supports this format. I think that allowing this format in the Gallery application (as well as in the others, I haven't checked) would be a good thing. That'll be all! 😜

Every forum topic url gets a 301 redirect when clicked on regardless of how many posts are in the topic, due to this {$row->url( "getPrefComment" )} in the topicrow template As this redirect is not needed on topics with just the one post, a simple if/else {{if $row->posts >= 2}} could be added either to the template topicrow or into the getPrefComment function This could then avoid many unneeded 301 redirects and so help with seo etc

It's currently impossible to toggle the top option off (to periodically send you my usage data) and toggle the bottom option on. As it stands both options are forced to be either on or off. If you toggle one, the other will automatically be toggled upon saving. Also you're missing the word "about" in the explanation for Usage data. It should be the second word.

When you set up a rule to give a member a badge, the rule has a field where you can optionally enter a small blurb of text to act as a public explanation for why that badge was granted. Manually awardable badges should have a similar field where an explanation of that badge can be entered (cp > members > achievements > badges). Currently if you visit a members profile and click on their badges to see them all, there the explanation for a manually awarded badge looks something like "for a post in a topic", and it will link to said post, if clicked. That is the text that should be replaced with the explanation entered (if one is entered).

After you upload a cover photo, you're asked to position it. Apparently everything above the top line of wherever you choose, gets cropped. After you've chosen the position, if you click on it to expand it, it only expands downward, showing everything below whatever position you chose. Instead, it should expand both upward and downward revealing the entire original image.

It would be 🤯 to be able to have an internal AI connected to the different databases that we can create with Pages as well as that of the forum. This would make it possible, for example, to ask the AI for specific things about previously published content. When you have been in existence for 20 years and you cover the daily news of a football club, you have a quantity of data full of history. AI would make it possible to offer an alternative to traditional research.

You guys may already have this in motion for IC5, but I thought I would throw it out in case not. With the new tagging system allowing you to have a central portal of sorts for specific tags, I would like the ability to choose a tag for imported events from iCalendar feeds. I can think of many use cases for this, and do not think it would be difficult to implement. Thank you for your time.

In the language translation interface, we need a filter for language strings used in the frontend. This would be super useful for frontend translations on multilingual websites where we don't need localized ACP but have readers from different countries. It would also be great to have this information in exported XML so that it is available for external translation tools.

I'd like to suggest an expansion on the @mentions function in V5 Whilst single user mentions are very usefull would it be possible to consider adding @everymember and @usergroup ?

Please provide an option to I turn off irrelevant emojis by category like country flags, food, activity, travel, symbols, etc. It would be nice to filter out everything except Smileys and Emoticons (first and last categories) to eliminate all other clutter.

PHP mails have been a good default with acceptable delivery for many years. But now the major email services all check for SPF/DKIM/DMARC and reject mails without proper DKIM headers, which I can set up for my domain and mailboxes, but not for PHP mails sent from Invision Community. Any chance this could be added?

Several years ago, there was a discussion suggesting the enforcement of uploading images rather than embedding them from third-party URLs. It's a very important feature because images hosted on third-party URLs often become unavailable, making many topics immediately less useful. With this feature, every time a user pastes a URL to an image hosted on an external website, it should be uploaded and embedded as an attachment, rather than relying on unreliable third-party URLs. However, it appears this feature has not yet been implemented. So, I hope this will be implemented in the future.

Right now, reactions have a fairly limited impact on reputation: Positive (+1) Neutral Negative (-1) What I'd love to be able to do is introduce more customisation here. For example: React with 👍 “Like” = positive +1 React with 🏆 “Thanks” = positive +2 React with ❤️ “Love” = positive +5 Because sometimes you're really happy with what someone did, and you'd like to give them an even bigger reputation increase. (Obviously, this also works negatively, but I've yet to come across such detrimental behaviour in my community.)

Very poor ratings on the phone version mostly because of render-blocking resources in the css and unused javascript. PC version is good but the phone version lacks on all Invision Community sites that I have checked.
