It seems I can no longer simply type :) and have it convert to a smile. This behavior seems to be universal everywhere, FB, Word, text apps, email...

Also, if I click on the smiley list, it takes a lot longer than before to load.

Will the :) functionality be added back?

Thanks

It's a different issue. Typing :) used to auto-convert it to 🙂 in v4, but it doesn't happen anymore with v5.

Yes, this is correct. You would need to use the short codes assigned to those items such as :smiling_face : for example

Can we edit those, maybe back to :)?

On emoticons, there is a noticeable delay opening them when using the button in the editor toolbar on this site here.

They are rapid opening on my site.

Both sites dropdown loads faster on phone but I get the same delay on yours if on desktop

It's something that came up in alpha testing, and I think at some point we might re-add them, but it's not a simple task and on our backlog.

Thanks, I am currently only using about 50 custom emojis. Do I still have that option, and do those still convert automatically?

Perfect, then it will still function as it does for my site.
