I like the new forum display "compact view" that this site also now uses. I would like it more, if I had the freedom to have it activated for specific forums or forum category and have the classic view activated for other forums or forum category. I checked but it doesn't seem like it's possible to have it activated for specific forums. At the moment it's activated for all forums site wide.

Is it possible, and if not, can a third-party dev invent a solution?

Yeah being able to assign different designs on a per-forum basis would be a nice inclusion.

I'd also like to see that for the Forum Index layout options too; it'd be good to have forums under one category displayed as Grid and another category displayed as List, for example :)

Thats something I also asked and at the moment is not possible said @Marc . I'm interesed if anyone can do something like that.

Would also like a compact form for forum index, in particular for mobile view.
