Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted February 10Feb 10 Hey,I started my website on the Beginner plan. $49 a month, just a couple weeks ago.I built it on V4, then changed to V5.I wasn't aware that I don't have Pages or Blogs or anything in the plan. I thought it was mostly a smaller plan for beginner-level traffic. Most importantly, these things just worked until now. I wasn't trying to cheat anyone, I just wasn't aware that I'm not supposed to have them in my plan. Then all of a sudden a few minutes ago my site becomes forums only. No warning, no nothing. I just go in and my site is suddenly just the forums page. Take into account that my website is supposed to be a combined blog and forums: the homepage is basically all blog.I'm posting things on social networks right now, people are coming to the site - even if it's a small number. So I get stressed out, I dig a little to figure out what's the problem quickly, and realize I have no applications other than forums, that they've been taken down, and that I have to update my plan and pay more immediately to bring my site back online and not disappoint visitors.I paid for the upgrade, but that experience sucked, to be honest. I think $49 a month is not nothing, but I guess you were upfront about your plans and pricing and it's fine, I just missed it. But just removing basically all site features out of the blue from my working site without telling me anything... That felt bad. Edited February 10Feb 10 by Ilan F
February 10Feb 10 Thank you for your feedback. Keep in mind that, like most companies, we give out a Free Trial of our software when you first purchase so you have access to all our Cloud has to offer. Once that free trial expires, we remove that functionality. There should be warnings that go out to your email letting you know of this. This may be something we can improve on in the future to let people know the functionality is only part of the trial. I will bring this internally to see what alerts and improvements we can make that rendered your experience a bad one.
February 10Feb 10 Author Thanks Jim for your response. I see now what that probably was. Please take notice that:- My 30 days for the trial are not over, I started my trial at January 22nd. So I don't know why it happened now.- I didn't get any emails about this.

You should be getting all features for 30 days from when the community was created (either Free Trial or Paid).
