Ok with a clean slate - just got a brand new server and and dropped everything out of my sandbox site, copied the database from .com to .net sitecopied live directory from .com to .netrenamed that directory to something else - if i have to do it again.then uploaded the new beta4 files to a new folder "forum"copied over directories and files (config uploads public ) needed from my source to the beta site adjusted the config settings to point to the new path and databaseran the upgrade only a few errors nothing show stopping.Upgrade succeeded but can't log in to Admin get a 404 the main index has zero css or stylesany suggestions - http://www.fmforums.net/forum

This is a weird one. In the ACP I decided to search for 'permissions' and I was logged out. The number of characters typed varies before a log-out occurs. For example I've been logged out at these stages: 'per' 'perm' 'permis' it seems to occur at random characters.

I'd like to see the standard tags in tracker like fixed - pending etc... added to the my activity search results under ips4 tracker. I have a few bugs for sure reported and use this feature to see all my bugs in one spot. It would be nice to see what's in what state like fixed or not. This most likely is not handy for the general user but more for the bug reporter that does a lot of reporting Thank you

Blocks should not apply to Categories and Records in pages. You should be able to select the different levels where you want them to apply. Should have an override to change the language at the category level. In one category you may want to add a dog, another to add a cat. While at the main database you may want to add a pet.

If anyone can provide me with a link of where the latest news on IPB4 are being posted, that would be awesome. In general terms, right now I'm just wondering if IPB4 is stable enough to use it live. I know it still have some bugs, but I noticed it's live here. If I were to use it live right now, does anyone have any idea of what would be the worse that could happen? PS: I'm talking about a hypothetical new forum. Not planning to upgrade an existing one at this time.

My forum is focused on motorcycle rides/events where RSVP is very useful. Calendar is somehow OK, but it's not exactly the right tool and missing some advantages of forum posting. I've got a hook that repost calendar events on the forum but couldn't find anything that would do this other way around. At the moment I just add a link to the calendar manually. Is it possible to add date option when creating a topic that will automatically show the event in the calendar? All the best Kris

Gotta say here imo this is kinda questionable IPB. I'm finding the minimal navigation to be very disorienting. One of the functions of navigation, such as breadcrumbs, is orientation, it shows you where you are in the tree. This gives you a sense of place. Also, you can jump quickly to another location. It would have been easy to put a nav tree in a drop-down where the IPS Comm.... link is, to replace explicit breadcrumbs. Or just use breadcrumbs. Also, why this placement of the forum link? In this design, the forum name is spatially divorced from the topic title. Why do that? The two have a hierarchical relationship. This a was a thing missing from the 3 series Content and really should be baked in at this point. When viewing a distinct record, there is no next/previous record buttons. You have to back out to the category view and navigate from there. Marcher I believe threw out some code in the forums to handle this back then which was fantastic. Ditto for an add record button - also not present on record view.

The mark all read button is obviously incredibly dangerous, and shouldn't be clicked by accident. The absolute last place that I would expect to find that button is next to the "new topic" button. After seeing this and being very surprised, I clicked it, assuming that, given that it would give me a warning prompt asking me whether I wanted to perform such a dangerous action. Apparently, no. If you accidentally (or out of curiosity) click the link that is right next to the new topic button, you immediately and irreversibly mark the entire site as read. I notice that liking is so....wishy washy for me. For some people I can like and it shows up fine. Others(more often than not), I get a lovely pop up that says Could this have something to do with my browser(Internet Explorer 11) as usually when I refresh the like usually appears to have gone through despite the error message. I ask about IE 11 simply because it does this already on 3.X series.

I've encountered a situation in which it's much more appropriate to add more than one item to FrontNavigation in the app I'm developing (distinctly different sections relying on the same core functionality) and I noticed that every item added by an app has the same ID attribute, due to the use of strtok(), It seems strange to decidedly make the $id passed by \IPS\Application::allExtensions( 'core', 'FrontNavigation' ) non-unique, though I admit it may be done for a reason currently unbeknownst to me. Hi, I can browse my site withou problem in desktop...but I dont know why has problem when I try browse in smartphones(tried with others too), chrome, samgsung browser, uc browser......only work fine with firefox... is a bug of beta 4?

Was trying to update couple weeks ago from 4.0 beta 3a to latest version of beta4 and downloaded the "update" package through ACP. First thing i noticed was when unpacking it, that there was some errors while unpacking it. Winrar told it had some files that it couldn't unpack. Then i took a look at the package: IPS Community Suite.zip\ips_7c10a\applications\core\extensions\core\EditorLocations\Announcement.php (from \trunk\applications\core\extensions\core\EditorLocations\Admin.php:6725) - ZIP archive, unpacked size 11 569 388 bytes There's some files and folders that ain't in place.
