Since Upgrade to 4.x , i am facing a huge issue with the default language option having the default language detected only from the browser is for sure not an optimum choice for a lot of the non-English , and specially the RTL sites i personally use the English interface of the browser , and also a lot of my users , but we need the forum to be set to RTL. I purchased one of the Add ins available to control the default language , but the site crashed after the installation so i removed it , and i was advised by Support to remove all Add-ins. Hello, In my opinion, IPS framework is missing one important feature: seo-friendly language urls. In my case, this is even a major setback, so I have to figure out a custom hook by myself. Take a look here: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/182192?hl=en&ref_topic=2370587 I think IPB should have at least an option to treat multilang url-based, not cookie-based. For example, http://ips.com/topic/1-sample-topic/ for default language, and http://ips.com/it/topic/1-sample-topic/ for, say, italian.

I would like ways to detect multiple accounts! this would help a great deal for my site. And im sure for others. We are in the age of proxy and vpn users so the simple ip match just is not enough anymore and i think invision power should lead in this and see if they can add other ways. As some people (troublemakers) can have up to 4 accounts on any one forum. They will rep themselves. Talk to themselves. Cause arguments with people they dont like on alternate accounts so they dont lose their main. Its a sad truth and its hard to act against. Currently Its like pulling off a flower instead of pulling up the root. So maybe we could get a new multiple accounts detector …

Could you make the no-javascript link for the search include the context? And make it possible to choose to search in the relevant context based on the referer on the search page. For example, when javascript is enabled, when you're in a topic you have the ability to choose to search within the topic you're visiting. However, this is not possible if you open the search in a new tab, javascript isn't active or similar (on mobile/tablet devices).

Could you make it easier to change a menu item to utilize the submenu-approach to change it to be a dropdown-menu? Currently if I wish to do this, I have to: Change to dropdown for the menu item Delete all previous menu items under the secondary menu Manually create the very same menu items I just deleted by clicking the dropdown-button for the item There should be an easy way to move these / do this in all one swoop.

Hi everyone, I can't see any way to achieve anything like this using the existing software or a marketplace extension — although please let me know if I've missed something! It'd be nice if members could save/pin/feature topics in their profile, so that when other people visit those profiles they can see a nice selection of topics that person has saved. On my forum in particular this would be used by members to save their most popular topics, as it's a forum where people post creative work and they could use these profiles as a portfolio of sorts.

I was playing around with the support settings on my community. I don't know if this exists but it should. Let us pass a variable like.. mysite.tld/support/create/department/2 and it will send someone directly to whatever is stored as department 2's input form. I just feel it would be a nice touch instead of telling someone to go to support and look for a specific department in the dropdown. If this does exist already, please let me know!

Please give us a ckeditor alternative. Skinning the ck editor has now become to the point we can't even reference common ck editor css rules like .cke_panel_frame { background: #000 !important; } Besides this you need to edit 8 minimized ckeditor files in the editor to change a single rule and you need to divide up your custom.css for some rules on top of that.. It can't get any more sloppy and hard to follow imo. A beginners nightmare to dig into the editor on top of time consuming beyond for the experienced developer. and of course there is no documentation on this to complicate matters. One constant struggle with owning a forum is keeping activity up. It takes CONSTANT nurturing which is what we get paid to do so I'm not complaining but it would be nice if we had tools to make this easier. One thing we depend on from time to time is asking for volunteers to post a few questions at our forum in exchange for an $xx valued membership. The problem is that often times takes alot of oversight or else they don't post as agreed etc. We've also offered some of our most regular posters free memberships in exchange for their activity efforts but then you're often stuck with them disappearing. They come back a year or two later wanting their free membership back…

Are image attachments in the forum supposed to open in some kind of highslide or lightbox? It's not happening for me. They just go to their own new page with only the attachment and my users have to click back using their back buttons. If this is working as designed I don't think this is a very user friendly thing for Forums with posted images.

EDIT2: I see it's on by default for new images loaded to my site but old one's aren't using lightbox. No option to turn on or off lightbox? no option to rebuild images?

I have 40+ bloggers feeding into a forum. Once in a while a blogger close his site - and then RSS feed gets an error and stops working. Errorpage look like this., The only way to find out what blog has stopped - is to check each and every one of them. Would it be possible to get some more information into this logs - or have I missed something?

I'm having some problems with your policies and ideology. I really believe this community is censored like Nazi propaganda methods, rather than an open community for customers to come together. I completely agree with customer only areas. I really don't like how censored the pre-sales forum is, but I can live with it - as a customer, I'll simply just avoid answering anyone's questions. It seems you've activated a title length limit at this community. This really bothers me, as it seems very easy to hit if I want my titles for topics and bug reports to be as precise as I wish. Could you please increase this limit again?

Really @Charles? So, if I've purchased add-ons in the market that have no renewal license, I have no need to get any updates for the add-ons because I'm running "outdated" software? Even if there is not a new version released from IPS after my license expiry and the add-on author fixes a bug in their add on? So, will I get a refund from IPS on those add-ons since I can no longer obtain the latest versions that may fix bugs in them since I purchased them (and updates to them) and you are now restricting me from obtaining them? Hi, Can i please request IPS to create a widget to more easily place advertisements. So in the front end Block Manager, we can have the choice of Advertisements that we can just drag to the position we want it to show! Currently the system is not user friendly at all, as it is far too difficult to work out what file you need to open and edit to create a custom location when adding that in the advertisements. I haven't managed to get it to work

1. When I finally upgrade to 4.1, I intend to encourage members to use status updates more, similar to FB, where most of the activity occurs. With the full editor now they can post what doesn't fit in blogs or forums (status type posts that once took up forum space because they had the full editor there). However, they are not going to use it if they can't edit the status. Is there a reason IPS won't allow status update editing? I plan to use this mod but really hope it can be added as a core function. 2. Also when a status update receives a reply can the status please be bumped in the stream? When will this functionality be added. It seems to be just about the most obvious ommision from the whole suite and completely mystifying why it hasn't yet been implimented as part of nexus/commerce. Here's hoping...fingers crossed...it is nearly christmas after all and it would be 'just' to be rewarded after all the agonising upgrades we have stood-by without complaint through out the year

I can't seem to find anywhere from the front of the site the statistics for any ads placed as a paid advertiser they no longer have the ability to see the clicks & impressions. The Manage purchases needs some work. - Especially for Advertisements. Also ability for the paid member to EDIT these assets - images and links - any time while their ads are active. Once a post published edit is made the existing ad and link must REMAIN ACTIVE until admin can approve the replacement ads, to ensure the artwork and links abide by sites terms of service. Add assets should NOT be deleted from the system at least for some time ( 1 year ) so that you have historical history of WHAT was displayed, and where links were directed.
