If you try to display a attach file that not have anymore a setted content is not possible to download/see it... same on 3.x ipboard :( find a attach without no content setted

Just a good example of what has just happened. A topic was hidden. A user tried to access it, and got a "You don't have permission to do that" error message. The user immediately thought that there was something wrong with his account, and contacted us. It would save us a lot of back-and-forth with users and improve the user's experience if the message was "This topic was hidden".

Different content types have different edit needs. I'd like to preserve discussions (short edit times) but allow editing of blogs and articles. Can the edit restrictions please be extended to apps? Broken down into content item and reply/comment would be great as well. As I only want authors to be able to edit their blogs/articles, but comments be preserved. Same as the delete permissions, which has been discussed and is being addressed. Edit/Delete are both needed per app and per content item/comment. Thanks

In 3.4.8 it was easy to see how many members who has joined in a given period of time. When you set a timeframe - the number who has joined the board came up on the statisticspage. Is it possible to have a functionality like that also in 4.1 ?

Basically if you have a board with the correct permissions for a usergroup to see it, but then place it into a category that is hidden; they can't view the board or anything in it. This is completely how it should be and working fine. The issue however is that the posts still show up to the users via the users profile activity. User profile -> see activity -> posts. You can see the post content there and the button to like it; however if you click the like button or click the post link, it'll send you to a page with an error. I often wish to quote a portion of a blog or article. There is no quote button, and highlighting does not work either. Can this please be added? All apps should have it. At least "highlight to quote" should work everywhere (including status). Lots of people have questions or want to comment on a particular line of a blog or article and then the replies are filled with nameless quote tags. Thanks

IPB 3.4 used to have the "onCompleteAccount" function in the members sync class that ran only after the account was validated and on the proper full completion of a new account. I utilized this in my Auto Welcome app to only send alerts to a member once they were fully registered and validated. Do IPS have any plans to re-add that support in the IPB4 Member Sync extension? Right now the onCreateAccount and onValidate functions can be used but you still have cases where it's not an actual new completed account. Such as the complete display name page after a Facebook signup and the onValidate function covering both email and password resets as well.

I have a stream (http://thesandtrap.com/discover/6/) which shows unread content. It's been working fine since 4.1, but recently this one thread is "stuck" in the stream for me. It never goes away. It's read, and the stream is supposed to show only unread content. Has anyone else seen something like this? How do you get the thread to go away? I'm not opposed to looking in the MySQL database. I've cleared the cache (IPS's and my browser's). It's not a theme issue as my theme is just modified via custom.css and nothing else. Disabling all plugins doesn't do anything. Any thoughts?

Would it be possible to have a better interface for editing block templates please. If you select the 'use as base for custom template' option then the editing window is far too small. Having to save, then reopen, then select content, then accept a warning dialogue every time you want to change something is a pain. The Page and database template editor is way better. Thanks

Hi! Ipsuite, atm, can work - thanks to Pages - Like a blog manager (wordpress style). cause of it, can be useful to permit comment also For guest (Like many blog). but ipb, for guest, don't ask mail address (just name and spam check. so, guest cannot have a gravatar, and cannot subscribe (if glad to do). this can be done from default with WordPress and, imho, is a good way to work for every community suite whit article system like a blog. I hope ipb can add this in next release. edit: mail for guest can be useful also for spam checker!!! regards

Just a few suggestions! I would like to see! the ability to disable rsvp and location in calendar (I would like my users to not show locations etc for physical events, since most of it it online! and alternatively as a way to protect my users locations if they deem to post an event where they live) An extra tab in profiles - That displays status updates for those you follow! so it has more of a social aspect! If one creates a custom stream for status updates. I would like a way to add the ability to create status's on that same stream.

The private message notifications (ie the red numbers on the header envelope icon) work in the same way as other notifications - ie, once you've seen the notification it is no longer 'new'. This, to me, is counter-intuitive -message notifications should be linked directly to whether or not I've opened the message. Gmail's new message tally on my inbox doesn't reset once I've opened my inbox, it goes down as and when I read the emails. I can see why you might make a case this is how it should work - but it's not the way every other messaging system I've ever used works. I've just realized I've missed a few messages due to this, and I can't believe I'm the only one.

When using the "Post a topic when a file is submitted?" feature, is it possible that the actual direct download link can be added to the forum post? At present, a user sees the forum post, wants to download it but has make another click to then get to the page where they can then click to download, if that makes sense? Also, when a forum post is made, can there be an option to add the forum link to the Downloads page for that item? For example, to stop discussion regarding the download becoming fragmented, I have disabled commenting on downloads and try to push comments through the forum. This is either a request for support or a bit of feedback (for version 4, appreciate it's a bit late in the day for 3.4.X), but I'm not sure which yet. It depends whether I am being stupid or not... :lol: When I am using the View New Content link on the main skin I don't find it very convenient when clicking on the topic to view. It either takes me to the first post in the topic or the last one (if I click the "time posted" link). It doesn't take me to the first unread post which is what I would have expected and found far more convenient. I would like the ability to allow members to submit more than one review per item. The reason is that for some items, such as hotels and restaurants, people often visit more than once and conditions can change over time, warranting a new review by the same member. See Tripadvisor... They allow more than one review of the same hotel. Is there a simple way to override this limitation?

Could you make us able to expand and collapse each template bit report on the theme differences page? And also have them all collapsed to begin with. And we would click on the header for each one (where it says which template bit it is) to expand it or collapse it again.

This was just brought up in contributor chat again and I jumped on through to a linked topic which linked back to a long dead bug report/feature request: This never went anywhere, or at least we never heard back on why you have locked down the locations to header, footer, sidebar. Of course we can move those around somewhat but adding in new locations altogether seems to be out of the picture without some hard coding around it. One of my clients has requested that attachments (to editor content) be displayed slightly differently. He wants me to set up a separate box with the text "Related Files:" and then thumbnails for each file. It seems that the attachment display is hard-coded into \IPS\Helpers\Form\Editor and that it is actually stored in the DB with the content. The storage part is fine... except that there is no way for me to specify a custom template for my attachments. I also don't see an easy way for me to hook into this without overwriting most of the getValue() method. It would be great if we could specify a template in our EditorLocations extension, or even better, to form…

I'm working with \IPS\Helpers\Chart for the first time. First of all, let me start by saying that this. Is. Awesome. Seriously, I love this piece. I just have one teeny tiny problem. We have regular charts, which are nice. We have dynamic charts, which are incredibly amazingly cool. I want to use the dynamic charts because this is exactly what my client is looking for. However, the dynamic charts appear to be heavily reliant on dates.... and the data that I'm working with doesn't have a date at all. Can we either: 1. Make the date parts optional or 2. Seriously, can we get the old style View New Content button back? I utterly hate the "Activity" button and so do my members. One of them almost quit the forum because of this system. Everyone on my forum likes the way ti worked on the old system. Like clicking "View New Content" and it taking you to the last unread post instead of post #1 of an old thread. Clicking that little blue star, that I keep forgetting to click, is driving me NUTS!!! At least give us a setting so we can make it default to new posts and last unread post like the old button! When someone posts an external link (i.e. youtube) it will embed directly into the post and you can specify the size within the ACP as you can images. Can we also have this for soundcloud please? The embed for soundcloud is huge.

When receiving a new update of a file via email notification, it's pretty useless as it only shows a copy of the original file/download description, not the actual updated change log. This forces you to visit the actual download/file (and perhaps need to log-in) just to see what's changed. If it's a security or stability update to the file/download, you could miss it if you don't take the time to visit and find out what's new. Perhaps the notification could include the change log when available?

IP4 is a huge improvement on IP3 and the move to a responsive grid has a big part to do with that and I am a huge fan of this decision. It's been a massive rebuild and a lot of time and effort has clearly gone into it - thank you for all your hard work as you have done a fantastic job. At the moment, I believe that IP4 it is the best software for desktop but not mobile. It's a real challenge to successfully execute a responsive solution for a platform that by it's very nature is complicated and houses a lot of content.
