Currently on my site, if you go to the "Blogs" section, you have to wait 45 seconds to a minute before the entire page loads with all of the YouTube embeds and GIFs. I have identified that it is purely the YouTube, Twitter, etc. embeds (iFrames) and large GIFs that really slow down the page. When those were taken out of the equation, the page loads as expected. My suggestion is to make it to where the embed doesn't show up in the previews. There's really no need for a full YouTube video to load in a preview because you can't really click on it anyways. -> Especially with YouTube videos, the thumbnail link is super easy. Hi, The inline tags editor for staff is great, but it would be great if you could add tags to multiple selected topics in forum view. Example, you select all of your 'Happy Birthday member name' topics using the usual checkboxes at the side of the topic listing that currently let you feature, pin, delete, move etc multiple topics but instead you could add a tags such as 'Happy Birthday'. A great time-saving way to use tags more efficiently especially for adding to older content or where members don't use tags posting.

In the Member Search tab under Advanced Search you are displayed a list of all groups. I don't see a built-in way in ACP to prohibit a group from being listed in this search. Since a lot of our secondary groups are for internal use only, we don't really want those group names to be displayed publicly. For example, on this site you have a group name of "-- Staff ACP Access" displaying in the search list. In my opinion, a lot of sites probably have secondary groups that don't need to be publicly known or searched. It'd be great to allow us to restrict group search access without having to make a template change to restrict the list.

I have had feedback from users, which I am inclined to agree with, that the hovercard that appears when you hover over a topic title takes far too long to dismiss when you move your mouse out. It currently takes 3 seconds [citation needed], but I think 1 second would be more appropriate, and if you click outside the card it should dismiss almost immediately.

Is there any chance that Admins can have the ability to create custom 'Tasks' in the ACP please? I would like to be able to have Records in Pages have their 'Featured' switch removed after x amount of days, and this would seem the best way to approach this.

There is no way to know about new registrations waiting for admin approval without opening the ACP. Currently, you can only set receive notifications about all registrations (including successful), which is not necessary. Please, add this option, because my pending users sometimes have to wait few days until I open ACP and see them. Usually, I don't have a need to open ACP every day and, of course, I forget about the pending list.

Downloads is an awesome app and the best way to monitize a community. However, it's largely unusable for iOS. Potential file types to improve: - Video: needs formatted to mobile friendly small files size format. - Pictures: need resized to something manageable on iOS - software, someway to save the file so it's available later (outside of my wheelhouse, ideas?) Point is, iOS is a BIG part of the market now and downloads should make an effort to work with these users.

If you use tags in forums and click a tag, instead of showing all content tagged in that forum, it shows all content with that tag across all apps using the search by tag function. Since it uses search, it also shows an expanded version as well, with truncated post text. Can it use sort instead so it only shows what is in the forum or category, and is a list of titles? This is not useful if the person is trying to find what's in that forum or category. If they want to do a tag search they can go to search, but if they click the tag in a forum it should show tagged content from that forum (content category). Hi there, I'm new to IPB and in the process of switching my community over from SMF. We have a variety of subgroups some of our members may be assigned to (up to 5-7 in some cases), and the default process of Select+Click in the very small box is a little cumbersome, given that we have ~50 groups. Is there an alternative method to doing this? SMF uses a checkbox system and it's perfect for this type of situation, but a cursory search doesn't show any way of changing this. Any help is appreciated.

Is there any way to mass select unwanted members for their deletion? I am facing excessive registration of spammers and I would like to have them deleted from my members list. Ideally, I would select them by ticking boxes (or the whole column) and delete them in two clicks. I am unsure how to achieve it at the moment.

Hi guys, Would you consider an option to the tagging system where users can add tags when they tag something and then those tags are automatically added to the globally defined tag list so the same tags show up for other users as well? It could be a switch that can be turned on in the Tags settings in the ACP, or maybe a setting per Member Group where only certain members are allowed to have their tags added. Thanks Adam

It seems to me that if a Member comes to the site and finds it unexpectedly down for maintenance, software upgrade etc., there should nevertheless be a Contact link on that page in case the Member needs to get in touch with the site adminsitrator or owner. For those of us who conduct business strictly through the website and don't rely primarily on email this is important for maintaining contact while the site is down.

We've been on IPB since the 1.0 in 2002. For many years our Admins and Moderators have had only the Group Image instead of the Post rank. As we are a military forum, we reserved the higher ranks for admins *, **, *** and **** Generals. For users we use post ranks with military rank images from recruits to Colonel. Recently we upgraded from 3.4.8 to 4.1 and Admins and Moderators now have both Post Rank and Group Image. I believe it was a setting in previous versions, not some custom code. But it was so long ago and I don't have access to my old 3.4.8 settings to confirm it. Invision Support says there is no such setting in 4.x to disable Post Rank on sp…

Dear Developers, Can you please implement a proper File caching system instead of this store() pish! I would like to be able to store static content, which I know will not be wiped out every-time that the cache is cleared. Store() is NO USE for the job of storing static cache for the long term and to be quite frank... it's a PITA! One big problem with old forum communities is 404 errors with pasted images from other websites that eventually are ended. This problem was fixed by the proxy caching with the never expires option. But the embed feature of many services like Instagram, Facebook and others does not take the advantage of the proxy caching. Please, add this feature to protect the communities of loosing content if the original posts from this websites are deleted. Thanks!

At the bottom of the forum where it says "Contact Us", it would be really nice if there was a way to change that text in the admin cp. So many people on our forum read that and think it's a way to get in touch with the threads author. Then staff winds up getting a ton of these random emails, and keep having to issue the same response. If I could change that text to "Contact Staff" or "Contact Administration" or something, it would help quite a bit.

It would be very useful for my site to have an icon of a BB code inserting GPS coordinates into a post which would convert it into a map (iframe). If seen this plugin some time ago but I couldn't fine any for the most recent version. Would anyone know if it exists? If not this would be my Feedback/proposal for new feature.

When viewing activity streams in condensed view, I think it'd be good to have the ability to expand individual entries to get more information on them. That way you get the best of both worlds. The stream itself is condensed, but you can still quickly and easily get a summary of the individual entries that do interest you. e.g., clicking the activity icon could expand/retract entries like so: Then the "Condensed"/"Expanded" buttons could just be changed to "Condense/Collapse All" and "Expand All".

I hate to post this on a forum but I'm running out of time and need to get this resolved. When I attempt to access my client area for the past week/ten daysvI get the "your account has been locked, please try later" but no matter how long I wait or clear browser cache still no success. I have sent support emails starting a few days ago but no reply. Can anyone one help, I own four uninstalled paid licenses that dead in the water. - Scott
