Hi, my board has been upgraded to 4.1.1, my question is I have enabled .htaccess verification but if i modify that file to also limit by Admin IP can my board automatically update through the new updater? Thank you.

Hi, I've migrated my forum to a new server and took the opportunity to move the forum from a subdomain and place it at the top level. I have introduced the ".htaccess mod_rewrite" provided by IPS (as below) which is working a treat, however search engine results are returning an error, and from what I can see in the URL, I need to remote /index.php from the result. Finding after having upgrading to 4.1.1 that I'm unable to create any new categories or discussions. Keep receiving the EX4096 Something went wrong. Please try again. but now when viewing the forum listing within the ACP, I have multiple sections as if they were created anyway. I tried to go through support and it went to step 2 no problem, got to the section where it had disable apps and plugins, now I'm receiving this error 2S162/1 You cannot delete your default theme I'm unable to get past this to even send in a ticket and now the site is throwing up a 500 error.

I tried adding a few plug-ins from the CKEditor site and they appeared to install just fine as there were no errors and then after one of them there were no more buttons on the toolbar. No biggie just restore to default configuration right? Well I tried that and it said it completed but there are no buttons and the editor won't open on any posts. Going through the steps of the ACP > Support didn't solve anything. At this point the community is completely useless so if anyone has any ideas on how I can successfully restore the default toolbar configuration I would appreciate it.

OK, got a strange issue with my forum, namely in the Storage Settings area of the ACP. I switched back from using an external CDN for storing IP.Downloads data to storing the data locally on the server again due to login issues with the CDN server. Now, the process completed successfully as all the data has been transfered over, and both of the FTP configuration settings no longer display the in use warning when you try to edit them. But, the IP.Downloads Screenshots entry still lists the warning that a transfer is underway and the drop down menu is still greyed out, as shown in the image below. When I attempt to request support via the ACP, after it disables plugins and apps, etc. I'm given this error, and It's disallowing me from opening any tickets. Any idea what's causing it and how I can go about fixing it? EDIT: Support said it's a known issue. Ignore this thread.

Hallo I'm running a 4.0.x board and try to support HTTPS / SSL in the future. I want to allow both types of connections for a while. So I enabled SSL in Apache but I know noticed that the resources (images, css, js files etc) are still loaded via HTTP. I think this is caused by the board_url setting in conf_global.php What is the best approach to allow both http and https connections while serving all files via the initial protocol the user visits? In 3.4.x there where quite some URL options, it seems most of them are no longer required in 4.0.x or detected automatically. Does changing http to https affect the SEO cache somehow? Th…

Just upgraded our forum to 4. We use different membership management software so we don't allow signups via the IP signup form. Is there a way to redirect registrations and password resets other then a skin hack? I thought it IP 3 we had an admin setting for that rather then skin hacks? Thanks!

For some unknown reason my sideblocks moved to the bottom of my board and they're set to be on the right? I touched nothing to do with the sidebar blocks, just refreshed the page once and it happened.. To answer some questions you may have: No, it is not just on my end, i've asked other members and they're seeing the same. No, it is not letting me drag anything onto the side now. Has this happened to anybody else before? If so, do you know how I can go about fixing it? Thanks. Picture should show what I mean. Could someone explain how I reduce the amount of text shown with the sidebar widget 'recent posts'? I'd like to limit the amount of the posts content, as at the moment - it includes the majority of the body of a reply and that can really push the sidebar down, creating white space.

Very strange. On my test forum the menu feature works. On my live forum I try to create a menu item and I get a blank item and then the menu does not work until I delete the blank menu item.

I'm planning to upgrade from 4.0 to 4.1 soon and I was wondering what files can be removed before the upgrade? I remember that for a 3.x to 4.x upgrade it was adviced to remove everything except for a couple of folders like /uploads.
