I thought i would hold off on updating but since i've been scratching my netherlords for the past month that really was not going to happen. YAY I LOVE 4.1! BUT! and yes i have to insert a BUT. Several hours in and i experienced lots and lots of issues (which i put down to the fact i customized heavily, so i had to start with fresh templates), some of which i have no idea how to fix, one or two i submitted tickets for. If I install 4.1 on my website when the full version of 4.1 releases reinstall the entire stuff all over again? I'm hindering on leaving it at 4.0 or just going to 4.1.. I know they add a disclaimer on there site when downloading beta to discourage it.. I just looking for a solid answer I've heard you can by certain people and some people say no... sorry..

Hi there. I'm going to have a board with a lot of individual forums. This is necessary because there's probably going to be one forum each for a list of cities that is rather long. I like the pinned topics here in this forum, and I want to put a similar "read me" with suggestions at the top of all my forums. But the text would be the same for each. Is there some more handy way to place the same pinned topic at the top of all of them, in such a manner that they could all be edited at the same time, in one swell foop? Hi, We took over the forum hundesonen dot no in june, and upgraded to IPBoard 4 i september. After the upgrade we've have serious performance issues. To gain extra performance we moved the forum to a new VPS when we upgraded to IPB4, which means we have two possible sources for the lack of performance. I'm a web developer, but have zero experience with IPBoard. I've tried everything I can think of. I've optimized MySQL, tweaked Nginx, using cache, talked to the VPS vendor, with only minor performance gains as a result. Is there somebody out there who can help us? Our VPS has 250 GB SSD, 8GB ram, 4 core CPU. The MySQL DB is 8.6 GB and consist of bot MyISA…

Hello guys, It's kinda confusing if we can upgrade or not, can we now upgrade from 4.0.13.1 to 4.1.0 Beta according to this topic? Hi all, I'm trying to convert data from my phpbb forum to my new ipb forum. I'm using the converter provided by IPS. But I have no clue how I can convert it. In the documentation I read that I have to upload the content of the 'upload' map. But where do I need to upload it to? To which folder? Because when I upload the files and folders, I don't see 'Applications Not Installed' in 'Manage Applications & Modules.'. So I can't install it. Currently I'm running the IP.Board 3.4.8 version. Hey, I've setup the twitter handler with everything needed (api keys, secret...etc), authentication works, and i am being redirected back to my forum where i have to insert an email account to use for registration. After inserting the email, I am getting this error message: "You are not permitted to register a user account with this site." Error code: 2S272/1 now what???

The new Activity Feed feature doesn't appeal to my users, how can I put a Files tab back in the profile like the Albums tab, so my users can easily find their files? I know it likely involves writing a new extension like the Gallery one, I even toyed with the idea of making a copy of the gallery extension and tweaking it but that's a level of coding that's outside my skill set, some assistance on this would be awesome

So far i tried to optimize my forum to look good and faster through testing at https://gtmetrix.com but one thing i dont understand is for example here https://gtmetrix.com/reports/hellshammers.net/zXewQkME it says "Specify image dimensions, The following image(s) are missing width and/or height attributes." the images are only emotions and profile pictures could it be because i have changed profile pictures from 90x90 to 150x150? what about emoticons? and is there some how i can fix it?

Hello fresh install of new IPB 4 and I have some problems. I tried (curiosity killed the cat) to enable designer mode and now all my forums seems to be quite messed up. I'm attempting to upgrade my test forum to beta 10 from beta 8. It hangs on the preparing to upgrade database screen. The script eventually times out with a 504 error and never completes. Site is running using PHP 5.6 and while upgrading, I've made sure to disable CloudFlare. Also, I now notice that the stylesheets on my site are broken as well. I confirmed that the file storage settings are pointing to the correct location. I've also already made sure that wait_timeout and max_allowed_packet are at a sufficiently high number. I have been having issues with EasyPost not working at all on my live installation. I have tested all variables I could think of and have narrowed it down to an issue with data in my SQL database. How can I figure out what is causing the issue? There is no error message and the only log entry generated is apache saying it ran out of memory. In an identical environment this issue does not happen. Only when I use the same SQL data does it show up. Using the same SQL data is actually the only way I have been able to reproduce this issue at all. Hey guys, I deleted a post that I made. Then I was posting and clicked submit and I got this error. Forbidden You don't have permission to access /community/index.php on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. Any help please? Best regards UKF

At the moment I have an 3.4.8 install but with the 4.x version available I tried to install it on my test server. But with the 4.0 and the latest 4.1 beta I get always the same message when I try to update: the log filesshow me this error I tried different things, like @Matt suggestion to use FLUSH TABLES but that didn't worked. I hope somebody here knows a solutions because I can't get any further.
