I think we've always enabled guest posts, but almost nobody took advantage of them. Did something change with 4.1.16 or 4.1.16.1 re: guest posts, because suddenly we're getting a LOT of them. I don't know how I feel about them, either: are these people who would not have posted otherwise (good) that are posting, or are they people who would register to post but aren't doing that (bad) since they can just post as a guest? Is anyone else seeing a sudden increase in guest posts? Do other people allow guest posts?

Facebook requires something called Instant Articles format for their RSS widget, which IPB does not supply. I was happy with what Twitterfeed was doing -- straightforward posting from RSS (it may have been Atom), with topic title, 200 words, and a link, but Twitterfeed is closing down today. Anybody got tips about how to get IPB RSS onto a Facebook group page? Thanks.

So recently I've noticed that my ads (I use Google Adsense) are taking WAY too long to appear on the site The site loads as quickly as usual, but the advert that is located at Site Header can take up to 5 or 6 seconds to appear, by which time the user has moved on and missed it It's affected my Adsense income by about 40% this month since it started happening Any ideas?

Hi Guys Probably a setting somewhere as it doesn't happen here... If I add an image inline from an attachment that I've uploaded. It appears where I've had the cursor as you'd expect but it also shows at the foot of the post? So you see the image twice? Anyone got a clue? Thanks.

How can we restore the file storage default settings? Our forum admin and frontend area are not showing their original layout. I attached a screenshot of admin and forum area. This happened after we added our MaxCDN domain to the custom url field under file storage. We're unable to see the correct layout of the forum. Help!!

I have noticed my core search index in the database is 58mb for a 220 member 90,000 post community. Is that normal, and is there a way to reduce that to lessen the load/size of the database? Thanks,

Hello, I'm attempting to create a custom profile field that displays a person's username as the link. I've added the field, but adding the following does seem to be working: <a href="https://www.twitch.tv/{content}">{content}</a> Where {content} being their Twitch username in this case. I'm using IPS Connect, connecting between my existing php website and lPS Platform, and while implementing the Cross Login to accept the cross login call, I think I found a little security problem. So, if what I know is right(please tell me if I'm wrong), you will set login session values when you receive a cross login request. But there's a chance that the user might catch the URL for cross logins while they redirect, which can be abused very easily. Like, if you change the 'id' parameter, the user will be able to login with other ids right away. I think there's a big chance I might have understood the whole concept of IPS Connect wrongl…

After upgrading to latest version i have problems with authorising on my portal. Before upgrading all working fine! This code does not work: require_once SITE_PATH.'forum/init.php'; \IPS\Dispatcher\Build::i()->init(); if( \IPS\Member::loggedIn()->member_id ) { If i do logoff, login on forum - it's work. But in next day i see guest again. All cookies exists. Oh, sorry. Did not see cookie path. After upgrading path is changed.

In my old forum software (I've been on IPS for > 1 year now) we had the ability to display all topics that had no replies. It was a great way to engage with new members who might post a topic members are tired of replying to, or just to say "hello," or who we would otherwise want to reply to to show that we're an engaging, busy forum. Is it possible to display a list of topics (or blog posts, etc.) with "no replies" in IPS 4.1.x? If so, how? I looked at the Activity Streams and couldn't find a setting for "no replies" or "number of replies."

Hi there. I want that all users can edit their posts in certain category, but others category are not allowing to edit own posts. For example, the category "Sales", where users can create topics, such as "Selling 5 books", and after the sale of each book, the user can edit their own post: "Left 4 books", "Left only 3 books" etc. But in the others categories in the forum the user can't change their own posts. I tried to find this option in Forum Settings, but nothing has been found.

Does anyone know why when you change a username, that it seems to change it everywhere but the tag itself? Here is a example. Let's say I tag @Member in multiple post in multiple forums. Later on @Member wants his username changed to something else. This will change his username etc. but the @Member never gets updated to point to the new user name. It still shows the old user name and when you hover it says "there was a problem loading this content". Now if you click on it, it will take you to their profile. Is this by default? Shouldn't it do a find and replace then change the @Member to the new tag?
