So I'm trying to truncate text for a datatable connected to a database so that entries that are long don't ruin the styling of the table Example of untruncated text: I found this documentation on a div class inside IPS suite for truncating, so I went ahead and edited my pages template to the following: <div class='ipsDataItem_generic ipsDataItem_custom data-ipsTruncate'> {$row['whatever']} </div> And it had no effect (original 160 chars, new div style still 160) Any help would be appreciated, I'm looking to truncate to 20 characters max

My "Members" group is currently group #3. I've created a new group called "Ranger" and I would like to make this the default group. I can do that with the following: $INFO['member_group'] = '3'; to $INFO['member_group'] = '23'; Question is, the ONLY thing I want to change is the default registration group, will there be any other side effects by making the above change?

My host uses Mailchannels and I have been getting LOTS of blocked emails that the forum sends out when the member is following a topic or receives their digest. My host has been contacting Mailchannels but seems to be getting nowhere as they have not slowed down even though Mailchannels says they have resolved the problem, NOT! I do not send out any bulk emails at all. The registration validation emails seem to go out just fine as well as PM emails. Using IPS 4.3 anything I can do to stop this? Thanks

I have a member who is complaining about other members calling him by their first name on the forums and they're citing that this is a breach of their privacy (They used their whole name as the username btw), and I tried to example that by using their name as a username they gave away those rights as it was now public domain. This user now wants me to delete their old account and recreate another one because they don't want people knowing they are, but it will probably be very obvious to who they are when they start posting again. So I finally updated the site on the weekend, seems to have gone well except the notifications are broke. There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to how a notification gets set as read or unread. In particular I seem to get loads of notifications now that pop up already as unread. What's going on? Fix?

Just looking at the pricing page, I have no idea what I am doing. My site is using 55GB of it's 60GB limit. I can move to 100GB, but that's another $20 a month. It's 90% attachments. Is moving to AWS a good alternative? Thanks

I would like to create a feed for visitors that shows Topic feed plus other stuff from Pages, Calendar, etc. instead of All Content which shows Forum posts feed etc. The current All Content feed adds every Forum post, which makes it difficult to read and clogs the feed backwards for my taste. Am I missing something or it's not possible.

Is it possible to define which attachments each user group can use? For example: Member group 1: jpg, png, gif Member group 2: jpg, png, gif. pdf. mp3 And so on - so each group can have permission to upload only those files they have permission to use. With thanks Dave

Hi there, quick question. We recently changed one of our forums from Discussions to Questions. When people Vote +1 for a comment, it should display in the forum view, but for some reason it continues to say 0 for all (despite there being up-voted comments). Don't mind the word "AIR," it's just what we're calling it. But ideally there should be numbers there, but instead it's a bunch of 0s – it's not tallying for some reason. The most tables in my converter applications are empty. E. g. those have 0 records: conv_link conv_link_pms conv_link_posts conv_link_topics I wanted to disable converter app, but it is locked. Looks like disabling is not possible. Is it safe just to uninstall Converter? I do not need to convert anything in the near future and it seems that there is no need to keep the app. Or is there something I have overlooked?

Got a problem, stuck php.ini and php5.ini in my cpanel root with: "[wincache]wincache.ocenabled = 1" Went to turn cache On back end and presented with greyed out bullet points? Does it need to be On on the server to be selectable in Admin Panel? Thanks in advance 4.4.4

All of a sudden, my website has begun throwing this error every time one tries to post a new article and/or topic. The odd thing is that the article/topic still posts without an issue. After a while, the browser will go to the white screen displaying the Gateway Timeout 504 error display but if you go to the website, you will notice the article/post was created without a problem. Good morning, I'm trying to add blocks to the clubs pages but the issue I'm having is that I need these blocks to be unique and not shared across all clubs. For example, I have many communities that use their own discord, but the discord embed widget is shared across all clubs even though I'd like to have a distinct discord embed for each club page. I accidentally Restored Default Configuration on the menu manager, and then published it... Don't ask why, but I am wondering what table controls the menu manager, I'd like to restore it from a backup. I assumed that it was core_menu, but that does not appear to be the case, the site and the menu manager inside the ACP is showing the default configuration. Am I missing something blatently obvious?

Anyone ever have an issue with loading certain forums within your community? It only happens when I'm logged in. It takes FOREVER to load a couple of forums, while everyone else isn't having the problem AND I can load them as a guest. Doesn't make any sense to me. I've cleared cookies, tried different browsers (Chrome and IE on my computer, even Safari on my phone), logged in as someone else, etc. Help!!!
