Morrigan got a reaction from xtech in "Kindness" plugin
I think the concept is moderately interesting but I certainly wouldn't want to "accept a terms of service" every time I submit something, at least not personally.

Morrigan got a reaction from xtech in Don't show me an update if I can't download it....
This would be lovely and satisfying but the issue is it is behaving like a standard update notification. In this case returning regularly across many platforms to poke me about this update I can’t install.
My suggestion is, no matter how important IPS is making it, even if it’s a security patch, if I can’t install it with my lapsed license, the notification shouldn’t come up. The priority in this case should be whether I can download it or not.
At the moment a 105 dollar renewal is impossible for me regardless of how important it is.

People read the room.
The tone of the room is set by the moderators, not a checkbox or plugin.

Morrigan got a reaction from Meddysong in Number of posts without a comma ?
@SecondSight You'll need to edit either:
forums > front > index > forumRow
This is the table view one.
OR
forums > front > index >forumGridItem
This is for grid view.
And change this:
{number="$count" format="short"} to just:
{number="$count" format="long"} Â

Sounds like you're just trying to annoy a handful of people who're not kind by nature, and end up sacrificing the patience of the kind majority.

Morrigan got a reaction from GazzaGarratt in Ability to disable donation goals
When you delete a donation goal it removes all data associated with it. This includes the name of the thing that people donated for. I would like to keep this information instead of deleting it so it would be nice to simply disable or deactivate a donation goal. It also helps if you want to re-enable/reactivate it later.

Morrigan got a reaction from Real Mythotical in Date and Time formatting
So one thing I found that I need is not exactly possible at the moment. Date and Time formatting in templates.
Right now you are forced into the relative time with the date growing as the age grows I need to be able to format a template to have MM/DD/YYYY and no time but currently I can only have things like "Yesterday" or "23 February". It would be nice to be able to format my dates again.
I think that there are possibly 2 ways to go about this. One would be to create separate template classes for it and allow us to format it in a setting (date, datetime, relative, shortdate etc) or give us the option to format it in the template bit itself like this:
{datetime="$record->record_publish_date" format="m/j/Y"} Where it will take the date and format it (in this instance) 4/17/2016. Something like this, I think, would likely be the easiest as then the core date formatting isn't changed but still allows for theme makers and people that want custom date formatting in page templates and blocks the opportunity to change them as needed.
Thanks!

Morrigan got a reaction from Alexandr.P in Create Own Avatar for Profile Photo
This will never be something core in IPS. I would recommend you see about a plugin developer to create it.

Which browser? I've been having some odd issues on my new iPhone 12 with the Chrome browser.

Morrigan got a reaction from Noble~ in Did something change on posting link?
The embeds ALWAYS open in a new tab/window (no matter if its internal or external):
This is an embed. It will open in a new tab!
However. New Windows is normally a behavior of the browser, not the link or if you're hold "shift" when you click on a link.
Beyond that we would need to see the site. The behavior hasn't changed from my side.

Not from the ACP. Log into their account and go to their notifications:

Morrigan got a reaction from SammyS in Support team issue! the support is missing here!
@IceCore
If the RSS has a manual size for the image loaded there is really no reasonable reason that IPS should be stripping this data. Something that could be done is maybe some magic CSS voodoo but I don't know what/where/anything about the feed itself.
Second, if the task IS a third party task (so it was made for a plugin etc) then you also STILL can't expect IPS to fix it. Anything that isn't core to IPS they cannot reasonably field. In this case it sounds like the task in question was installed to facilitate a third party application or plugin which means that the error is with that plugin/application.
Just because IPS offers developers the ability to implement tasks doesn't mean that they are responsible when the code fails from the third party application.

Morrigan got a reaction from TDBF in X hours ago vs. today/yesterday
In your theme template find this template:
Forums > front > topics > post
<a href='{$comment->item()->url()->setQueryString( array( 'do' => 'findComment', 'comment' => $comment->$idField ) )}' class='ipsType_blendLinks'>{$comment->dateLine()|raw}</a> Change this:
{$comment->dateLine()|raw} To this:
{datetime="$comment->post_date" norelative="false"} Unfortunately its not relative at all but it will give a visual absolute date.

Morrigan got a reaction from derpunker in Community support wanted: Firefox users can help
So it only happens when its same page for me. If I click on the one with the anchor it pops down and then its back at the top. If I CTRL+Click it into a new tab it loads at the post directly above this one.
Edit: Visually it looks like lag. The Javascript to close the quote box takes a split second to load so when it does half the page is gone and it shoots you up.

Morrigan got a reaction from Chris89 in Custom Emoticons
Any image can be uploaded as an emoticon.
I would recommend using your google-fu to find free emoticon packs that you can download.
The x2Â is for when you have a larger High quality version of it to be used on specific HD screens. If you don't have it, its fine, it will use the other one.

Morrigan got a reaction from Eric BXL in How to deal with a 500 error with no Admin access???
So as stated. 500 errors are server side. This could be permissions? It’s really difficult to say without knowing what your server is saying is the problem.
