Hi all, We are a large image-sharing community and are looking into cheaper options for Storage. I've started to float the idea with the other administrators of storing images off-server and onto Amazon S3. Is this a good idea? And if so, what storage settings should be on the S3, and which should be server-side? Thanks, Nowe

I can address most problems with our board but there seems to be some glitches that I can't seem to resolve. Could you please recommend an honest independent IPS helper. Years ago I met and used a wonderful former IPS employee but I cant get him any more. Many thanks in advance

Hello there, I'm using nginx fastcgi caching with php-fpm with great success (in terms of performance), the only problem is that the cache is not purged automatically after a member create or update content. For example: someone creates a new topic and no one can see it because nginx is serving a old cached version of the home. If you try to enter in new topic directly, by the url, no problem. But anyone else can't see it until you purge everything. Any ideas? Hello, i'm developing an app which has some IPS sources extension that are not listed in Developer Center. I'm creating an extension in sources directory which has ActiveRecord. Everything works fine but there is a problem while i'm telling IPS about database table name. IPS needs making database name as appname_tablename formula. My problem is i can't use appname_tablename but tablename instead. Hi everyone, I've had excessive resource usage warnings coming in a lot and have gotten used to it. Mainly with spamd. After updating to PHP 7.4 the warnings are now constant, one or two every minute with lsphp now taking first prize in resources. Does the resource usage in my screenshot look normal? If it is perhaps I can reduce the warning emails, if it is high, does anyone have any suggestions on how to lower the resource usage? Thanks

Hello everyone, We have tons of historical content we want to publish. The content: won't be posted in order could be hundreds of articles\pages, etc But we want to: display it on front-end in chronological order at a later date. I am told that articles use a database and can be sorted any way one wants. Haven't yet done that, because Im a noob and my understanding of the connection between articles and databases is a little vague at the moment. We have been running our current server on Cent OS 6 from last few years and now we are in a process to migrate to a bigger server and possibly Cent OS 7 as support for Cent OS 6 is finishing soon. Hello everyone, Today when a user registers to my community via GMAIL/FACEBOOK, his photo automatically sync and appears on the user forum profile. Can I disable the photo automatic sync? I think it's a little too much Invasion of privacy.

We crashed the other day. There was a burst of traffic that caused out of memory errors which forced the server into 'read only' mode and then nothing worked, and when I tried rebooting the server it simply died. I'm back up and running now, but the site seems very slooooooooow much of the time. I involved my web host, and he tweaked a bunch of things, and said under normal circumstances I should be fine with our current VPS plan, but that he recommends I add CloudFlare to my site. Hello, there. My ibf_core_search_index table has 4gb. Since I already rebuilt the index (without affecting it's size), can I simply clean the table to start from scratch? "Why" you ask... Imagine my surprise after discoverying my daily backups folder occupying a copious amount of space. Another pain was doing a simply database migration to another server (4gb for one table, there's the rest). Any help would be appreaciated. Thank you for your time in advance.

In this topic, @ASTRAPI made a detailed description of what is and what the first byte contains, for which I thank him. For a few months now, I've been doing a lot of first byte analysis and testing in my installation. Hello, there. I'm about to migrate my forum to a new server and this is always a pain. To minimize downtime, what do you guys do during the migrate? My only plan was to close the board until the DNS pointing to the new server propagates. This always generate complaints. Is there a better way?

I am completely dumb when it comes to server admin however I could do what I needed when I had cPanel/WHM installed on a standard dedicated server running CentOS. Back then I was running Xenforo which is also easy to manage...very much set and forget. I went to IPS and with IPS being more resource hungry I got a new dedicated server and got a Server Admin guy to set it all up for me and he setup CloudFlare, nginx and CentminMod however I now have to completely rely on him as I know nothing about any of this and it costs me dollars every time I need something done. SendGrid allows to send 100 e-mails per day if on the free plan. I am not sure how SendGrid handles this limit, if a Bulk Mail is sent/scheduled to reach several hundred subscribers. Will SendGrid send 100 mails/day until all Bulk Mails are sent? I fear this is not really possible and SendGrid would attempt to send all mails at once. I could also try to limit the number of mails to be sent via the task cycle...but this would make it somewhat complicated. Any suggestions on this? Or would it be best to upgrade so the daily mail limit is lifted?

Hey fam! So, I just switched to 4.5.3 this week and it appears most of the kinks / bugs are worked out now. I also upgraded to PHP 7.3 and changed the caching method to Redis. I've noticed my forum loads slower than before the upgrade (when I was on 4.4 and using memcache). I've also had member complaints about it. I checked out a few other IPS forums and noticed they load lightning fast. Mine... not so much. I love the Forums software. I have used it for decades. The price is a bargain. But please let me be so bold as to say that the number of bugs introduced with each new version is almost unacceptable.
