Access permissions in this structure: Category (allowed) Forum (denied) Sub-forum (allowed) In other forum software I have used, access denied is not transferred from parent to child categories/forums. There are occasions where the content of a container should not be accessible, but access to the child container is allowed. Hi, I want to send automated welcome emails which are to a specific user group, e.g. paid users who have purchased a subscription, with their user ID. I can't find any nice way to do this. Bulk email - would be a good option but can't schedule to run daily, and is not reliable due to running as a background task Alerts - this could work, but you can't use tags in content so I can't add the user ID Auto Welcome plugin - this is great but can't specify a specific group Language strings - can't change “email_reg_complete" as can't specify specific group and is very rudimentary Is there any other way or plugin you know of I can use?…

Hi , I am trying to install the beta 5 on my new forum (i deleted the ipb4 off as was just starting it and realised that the beta was coming out soon. Its showing up this error... An installation has already been activated for this license key. Your license key entitles you to one installation only. If you need to change the URL associated with your license, contact IPS technical support. I dont have any other installation. Any ideas? Matt

Just designing a new forum and with the release of V5 not a long way away, is it better to have a Pages page as the homepage so that forums will be www.sitename/forums for when i upgrade to v5 or wont it matter?

The upgrade of our site from 3.3.4 to 4.7.18 is basically done except for some individual application tweaks and one registration/profile completion issue. By our choice, we have taken the site offline while this issues are resolved. So why is it that I keep getting 404 error reports with Daniel's 404 management application ? This isn't an issue with Daniel's application. It's just weird how, if the site is offline, something is crawling through the files or clicking on the links. How can that be?

I read that I wouldn't be able to edit templates. Are they still viewable? Currently for adverts, I have to alter the body class line in globaltemplate, how would I achieve this? There are also certain scripts I have to add to this template. I've also made various other minor changes but for display reasons, like changing the padding to padding-half that kind of thing. Can I no longer do this? 🤔

We have a paid membership forum area where an expert answers questions. These are usually long and open-ended so there's usually a long list of topics open and unsolved at one time. Is there a way to filter the topics on a forum for authors who are in a certain group (one that still has access)? This would be quite helpful for the experts in the forum to filter down to a list of unsolved topics only from people who are still current paying members.

Hi, Is there a way I can force changes to CSS on members? I am aware that changing the location of the CSS file will generally achieve this, but I presume this is not a practical option with Cloud. Many of our members will struggle clearing their cache. Would creating an additional CSS file with new CSS achieve this? (I could then remove it sometime down the line.) Does anyone have any idea of how long CSS is cached on android another OSs/browsers?
