Hi, We recently upgraded from V3.1.2 to V4.3.5 . We had members divided in Member Groups. Although the upgrade seem to go through OK with no known errors, only the registered user and moderator user groups remained intact. All the other user groups were missing and their members set to to permanently banned. As there is no date code on the ban or a way t distinguish between banned in error and banned because they were originally a spammer I'm stuck. Also, there is no way to bulk unban users, and the group that is missing was over 1,500 strong - too much to do manually even if I did have a list. Can anyone advise of what went wrong?

The reason I ask is that I want to limit guests to seeing forums and topic titles but not the posts within a topic. Firstly is this possible? Secondly would this stop Google indexing the posts and topics?

I guess I can test it, but I figured others can also benefit from the discussion. Can someone clarify how exactly the different types of clubs behave in activity streams? My assumptions are as follows, feel free to correct me: Public and Open - New content (posts, topics, images, events, etc) is visible for all in activity streams, both members and non members. Closed and Private - New content (posts, topics, images, events, etc) is visible in activity streams only for members of the club. So, I just completed a successful migration from vB4 to IPB and I'm dealing with member expectations. Most love the new environment but a few have voiced concern about the fact that guests can view member profile pages. On our previous platform, that didn't happen. I can't see any setting in the ACP to control group access to member profile pages. Is this even a thing in Invision Community? If this level of control is not available out-of-the -box, I'd like to suggest that it is included as a standard feature in a future version. Having checked Marketplace, I see there is a Profile Privacy plugin that will do what my users are asking for but really, this ought to be …

Hi, so I've moved all of my old thread posts in all of my categories to an archive section. While it worked, the numbers are all incorrect. Example; It says 24 posts but there's only one single thread with zero replies - so the correct number would be "1" - it's like this but for ALL of them. how do i fix this?

Hi, All the YouTube videos that have been added in posts are showing as full-width across posts. As we're using the fluid layout this means the video takes up the entire screen while scrolling through posts. Is there a way to keep the videos a more reasonable width and proportional height? Thanks

https://invisioncommunity.com/clientarea/support/1016300/ No updates in almost 2 weeks... on a 3 week old ticket. I've tried to ask several times in the ticket for status but I never hear back. Here is the issue in a nutshell... sitemap goes to virtually zero after upgrading to 4.3. Can any staff help? It's in tier 3 support which I figured meant a resolution was coming soon. This may effect other folks too.

When I paste a link to a video on Ted.com it gets embedded in the preview and I get the " Your link has been automatically embedded." message, but when I post it, all I get is a big blank space where the video should have been. Videos from youtube work correctly. Is it a setting somewhere? Or does it not work with ted talks videos? EDIT: I see that it's the same issue here. So maybe it just doesn't work with ted talk videos, or am I doing it wrong? Test:

I'm currently planning the migration of a large-ish forum from vB4 to IPS. Inevitably there is going to be a hit on SEO and a drop in organic traffic. Could anyone give me some advice on how to mitigate the hit as much as possible. For example, is there a redirect script/htaccess that will redirect requests from the old vB4 topic URLs to the new IPS URLs? Obviously, I'll be requesting that Google re-crawl the site via Webmaster Tools but, beyond that is there anything else I should be doing?

Hello, after a night long conversion from 3.4.2 to 4.2.7 and solving a dozen of problems I'm stuck with translations. Problem #1: I have no idea how to enter a translated text. I see the original text in the column English and empty space in my destination language column. And that's all, clicking the emtpy space does nothing, right click doesn't work as well. How it's supposed to work??? Downloading the language data doesn't work, I get just a funny xml file with 5 lines at all. Problem #2: It's not possible to change language or displaying user dropdown menu on Firefox 59.0b5, as none of the #el anchored links works. Strange is that MS Edge work…

I think I may have asked this before and was recommended to something that wasn't exactly what I wanted. Does anyone know how to use the subscription system to allow multiple subscriptions to different secondary groups where it won't revert all the secondary groups (just the one that they subscribed to) at the end of the time?

I have a busy site with lots of static content that currently includes a vB forum in a sub-folder. My long-term aim is to convert the entire site over to Invision Community, using Pages for the homepage and much of the non-forum content. However, this is a massive job and needs to be phased. There is an imperative to migrate the forum first and the only sensible option seems to be to install Invision Community at mydomain/forum. My question is, how easy will it be to subsequently move Invision Community to site root when the time comes to port content to Pages and make that the primary application?
