As the title suggests, would love for the cacheExpiration value (defaulted to 24 hours) on the forum statistics widget to be configurable by an administrator in a future release, just like it was prior to 4.6.0. The current 24 hour default setting rather renders the Forum Statistics widget a bit pointless if it's not percieved to update in "real time". I can just imagine the PM's from my users... "Why don't my posts count towards the site total?"

In some cases it could be useful to have rights per group for personal data access. For the moment the only way of doing something that may look near to that is to add groups as moderators but don't give them any moderation right, so as "team members" they'll see that level of personal data fields... 😕 So, having a per-field or at least per group of fields access level could be very useful.

It would be nice to be able to upload icons for forum sections in SVG format. 🧒

I would be using the Q&A Forum type more often however, it's greatly flawed because it lacks the ability to have a conversation around the Question and each answer. Comments are needed. More detail: Currently you can only post Answers to a Q&A topic. This is a problem when people want to get more information about the question. Do do this, they will need to post a comment or two and have a mini conversation before posting an Answer. This is normally done on other sites (Stackoverflow etc..). For example: The issue if not being able to comment on a topic is the full discussion is lost with a bunch of "answers" and it makes …

There used to be a third party addon for this feature I'm about to ask for but I think that IPS should add the option for administrators to restrict PM messages for usergroups until they reach a certain number of posted messages or responses on the forums. Sometimes you run into the problem where someone new to your community will register for an account and instead of posting on the forums, they send a barrage of personal messages to forum staff or the general members in some weird advertising campaign. I actually had this happen before where someone signed up for an account and sent unsolicited PMs to members on my site without posting a single message. It's a prob…

One user can create one topic in different sections (cross-posting). I used to make a module for 3. x, which compares the new user's message with the previous ones (the algorithm of fuzzy duplicates) and this 100% protected against cross-posting. Why hasn't IPB made this option yet?

In the settings, you can limit the length of the topic title (for example, 100 characters). When creating a topic, everything works. But when trying to edit a header with a length of 100 characters in multi-byte encoding (I have in Russian), an error is returned - "The length cannot be more than 100". I think the length of a multi-byte string is incorrectly considered when editing the header.

I have figured out that there is no meta description for the links with /page/XXX at the end topics http://www.example.com/forums/topic/17589-whatever/page/XXX article comments http://www.example.com/articles/category/article/page/XXX blog entry http://www.example.com/blogs/entry/17589-whatever/page/XXX and so on I have lot of pages where Sign in... and menu structure is taken into description by Google instead of the content of the page. It looks messy in search results and does not attract users to click.

Hi, When deleting individual users, we are able to select if we also want to delete the contents they created. However, when we use the member search feature to mass prune members, we don't have such option. For example, I wanted to delete all spammers, however, if I do that using the mass prune option, all the spam is still left in the database, assigned to "Guest: <user_name>", and I want to delete everything, including all posts and topics. I think when select to mass prune members, there should be an option for us to select if we want the users' contents to be deleted as well. Thanks.

Hello everyone, I have a question about possibly updating the search we use on our forum. We currently use the default MySQL as search engine and we noticed that whenever we use for something the results are not like we want, our forum members even resorted to searching what they want in google plus the name of our forum, which have gotten them a lot better results. Now I was wondering if there were maybe plugins, settings or other things I can do to improve the search? Thanks,

If I may, I would love to see a few updates to the Pages UI when working with templates and databases: Group Templates / Template sets - I tend to make quite a lot of templates for the different databases I have and while I can search for templates to locate the right group, it would be great if we could group sets of templates like we can with components and pages for example. This way I can add the 4 template groups into one set, or group all form templates into one group, to make it easier to find the set I am looking for. Template naming improvements - Right now all pages template names must be in lower caps when creating them. You can change this after cr…

Now with badges and rules being awesome in 4.6 I really hope devs expand on this. Some things that I am missing in the rules which I hope can be implemented are specific dates. For example valentines day or Christmas eve, well custom dates is what I'm looking for. It would be nice if we could reward people with badges for login in on specific dates. So that would be expanding the "Member logs in for the first time that day" rule except we would be able to choose specific dates instead, and/or a span of dates (e.g. Login in between the 24th to 26th earns you the Christmas Eve badge), instead of as it is now. It's very limited with so much power, but it's also new so hopin…

Authorize.net is one of the most popular and powerful gateways on earth. Anyone looking to have direct underwriting from a bank will find they need to work with authorize.net. Not having access to this out of the box is a severe limitation on business owners who use their software to operate. They have a great API https://developer.authorize.net/api/reference/index.html Please bring back support for this Thank you

Hello, Currently, there is no way of using any variable in the custom error messages displayed in forums. Things like... %username% Your %membership% or %usergroup% cannot read the content of this %forum%. Please, consider upgrading your membership. My community has a subscription based model and like many other communities using this model, would require customization of error messages using variables like username, first name, membership, subscription, product name, date_subscription, forum name, user group, etc. Custom errors are vague and general right now, without any variable customization. That would be a great addition. …

Hi. I don't know about you, but I didn't like the "look" of the badge in the topic. In my opinion, the badge is too big. What do you think about this look? Example 1 Example 2

If lazy load is enable, why not lazy load profile pictures on IPS 4.5? On some pages there are many profile pictures with big sized images.

I would love to see a graphically clean way of looking up all the applications and their compatibility with a version of IPS, especially the latest version to help me decide whether to upgrade. Currently, deciding to upgrade, to for example 4.6, is difficult. I have to either go app by app in my install or go to the Marketplace, go category by category with the version filter and scroll through all the apps until I find, or don't find mine. Developers should have some kind of back-end field where the check off the version(s) of compatibility, and then on the front end, like with all compatibility matrices, you would have an app with checkmarks to the right under each vali…

Hi, Maybe it could be useful for "short forums" like ours to have a specific sidebar widget that can contain 2 to 4 tabbed widgets instead of spreading all the data along the sidebar.... I was particularly thinking about putting Top Reputation users, Top Solved users and recent badges in that kind of widget, but can be also useful with distinct flow widgets (or any widget)... Thankyou for your attention, D

Hi, Sometimes you need to send an e-mail to your users that is not a newsletter : some important informations regarding your community life or setup. It could be useful to have a "ignore newsletter registration" option in the bulk e-mail filters. Maybe there is already a plug-in allowing that (?). Thankyou for your attention, D

I'm getting alot of spam through this and support haven't got a solution. I'm getting around 10 bounced emails a day on average which is harming my reputation on Amazon SES, all the email addresses are gmail and similar each time just with dots scattered around meaning the email address is different each time, but all not genuine. It seems anyone can enter any old email address into here and emails are being sent out regardless. My spam logs are noticing the emails as a '4' so I would suggest the emails not be sent out in this case or at least use some form of capacha on it if not that.

I like the addition of achievements but I don't like the placement of the badges in the topics on the avatars. They are designed well but I'm not sure they are needed in some cases (on a busy site for instance, it would get annoying). For many years I requested the online status to show next to username or on the photos as I have it as have always had to use a mod to achieve that, yet now it's deemed fine to have these big bulky icons which I'd say takes eyes away from the content a fair bit more than an online status ever did. Currently you've got these icons in topics, hovercard, profile and dropdown menu. I think it would be better all round if they didn't appear …

When exporting member list it would be helpful to have information about the registration origin country based on the IP address. I have been having to correlate the output with an api service https://ipstack.com to get the needed information. In addition for on export it would be most helpful to see the emoji flag or country/region in the member list next to the IP address. ( Or on hover over the flag disclose country / region )

Apart of Support forum style (can not see by others members), would be super if ips can add New forum style, with option by default ban all members, then only selected groups, and members can see and use that forum. Need more flexibility to manage variety of privacy needs. It will give us an Enhanced combination of, group, members, categories and privacy management.
