I've requested this a blue moon ago, but it'd be extremely nice to have a "force uninstall" option for applications. All this does is simply run the current uninstall procedure but suppress any database errors and continues. Right now, if a field or table is missing due to a bad install, upgrade in IPB, change by admin, etc. then IPB's uninstaller will barf when the uninstaller attempts to drop it, causing an incomplete uninstall and most likely a lot more driver errors than before the uninstall. So long as IPB has an app key then the uninstall should run without errors.

I don't see why this isn't there already. It's an amazing feature in the forumview already. For those of you who don't now what i'm talking about go out to the list of topics and scroll down to the bottom. Click that. I am suggesting that that should be in the topic views aswell.

I'm not too keen on the way the search box in the header changes function according to where you are. I suspect the vast majority of people using that box want to search the forums - that's where the bulk of content is, after all. Eg, if you're reading a topic it switches to 'search this topic' - but what is more likely, that someone will want to search that topic, or they'll want to search the forums to find some other topic to refer to? For my money, we'd be better off with the behaviour defaulting to 'forums' and leaving the user to select the others as and when they want to.

It would be nice if users who participate on a calendar event could be notified on other users confirming their attendance on the same event. (I also suggest Calednar has a separate Forum on this board so that it is easy to find all related topics)

I was thinking, wouldn't it be better to show the number of purchases a file has in somebodies profile view of the file tab instead of downloads if it is a paid for item? Mainly because In my opinion I would rather see how many purchases a file has gotten rather then downloads as in my profile, my Faceboard skin for 3.2 has only 2 purchases but 6 downloads which I doubt was downloaded more then once by both purchasers.

Last 3 days we have had lots of bot registrations. Luckily, so far, none have passed email validation. Our forum is not in English or any other common language, so Q&A protection should be impossible to pass with bots.

First off I will admit that I normally only jump on here when I have a problem I need to resolve so often times it seems like I am complaining when in reality I am just trying to quickly resolve an issue that's bugging me. Anyway.... I just wanted to take a second and make a different kind of post thanking you all for this latest release and for your awesome support that goes along with it. The recent changes to the suite places this product above and beyond anything else available by a MILE! In 3.2.0 we already are going to see some nice improvements. Though I want to suggest a few more. #1 - Reputation Comments System Ideally, this would allow (or require, depending on the admin' choice) comments to be added with reputation points. Optionally, it could be displayed public (or private) who repped you and what their comment is. This would help very much with trading forums and forums that rely on user reputations. #2 - Google custom search beside the regular IPB search #3 - Image attachment re-size Basically entering a max dimension / filesize in the ACP for an image, anything uploaded that is larger than this will be resized before saving to the s…

Maybe I'm overlooking this feature and maybe I'm not. Something I think that would be great in 3.2.0 is for the option of having the permissions of forums inherited. What I mean by this is creating a parent forum category and then any sub-forum within that category can just inherit the permissions from the parent category. Of course it could be optional and you could still set fine grain permissions if you'd like, but I also think having an option to inherit would make it more efficient to create a simple forum and some sub-forums. Usually when I make a category and sub-forums within that category, they all use the same permissions so why not have an option to inherit t…

Really, it's awful that putting the software through the official validator shows about 99 errors with the HTML alone, and even worse that I managed to halve that amount by modifying my own forum a bit. Most of these problems are down to stuff like not using & at all times, which is what, half a second of extra work? I'm not talking about those in the script tags and stuff either, I'm talking about stuff like the forum index and forum links. Now, I know some errors are due to third parties (the Facebook and Google code is awful), but really, most of these problems could be fixed in minutes, and it'd make IPB look so much more professional as a result.

Hi, I posted some of this in the technical support forum, but think it's probably more feedback than technical support. 1. To add tags to an existing topic you have to edit the topic and 'use full editor' rather than the inline editor. It would be great if admins / mods (or whoever you want) could add tags without having to go through that process, ideally not even have to edit, just have the editable tag field within the first post / header of the topic. Otherwise it takes a few too many clicks to be able to add them in. 2. Mass tagging, is there a way to do that, or is that planned at all? Hello, I'd like to know if that idea could be a new option in the next IP.Board release. The thing is that my moderators don't have access to all forums, I give them full control on some parts of the board but not the whole board. The problem is that now, with the 3.2, they can edit posts that are in they area BUT they can't add tags in existing posts. Thanks for reading ;).

I get nothing bu fast courteous replies and help from the sales staff and technicians here at Invision. I just bought another Invision license along with a bunch of other products and within 24 hrs it is up and running! I have never been told no or wait until... I will admit when 3.0 came out I did not like it at all but now I am a huge fan of Invision and no forum software comes close. A lot of my friends who swore by V bulletin are selling or have sold there licenses and making the move over here. Keep up the good work and Invision developers keep trying new things. Now all I have to do is learn IP content and Blog and the 3.2 software. I guess I am not sleeping…

The link to the messenger at the top of the site always links to the first message of a conversation, which is rather inconvenient, especially when you get to having multiple pages. Please change this to link to the first unread message.

Sometimes, it would be very convenient for the Admin to DUPLICATE the string of Categories & Sub-Categories they create so they can just make simple edits vs doing all the work over again with just 1 difference or something. For example, if you were going to have all the same Categories and Sub-Categories for each year/location/genre/etc it would be nice to have a Duplicate Option available so the admin can just change the year/location/genre/etc. Is there a mod for this or is this something that can possibly be included in an update?

Just been browsing the Marketplace and i couldnt see this option, or maybe it does not exist? Is it not possible to filter items on there based on what version they are compatible with? It would make it a lot easier if you could click on 'Board' on the left and then choose from a list of board version such as 3.1 or 3.2 and then be shown mods for that version, rather than finding something you are interested in, and then discovering it's not compatible yet.

I just wanted to give a shout out to mention that my community loves the 3.2 upgrade. I upgraded a few days after 3.2 came out and so far I have not had anyone complain about any missing features.I can't speak for all communities, but my members have not missed any of the features that were taken out. Thank you.
