When I close topics without reading them (using the "with selected" option) the topics aren't marked as read, even though I actually closed them. They can be still unread for everyone else, but when I change their state, then I think they should be marked read.

Couple of features that are offered on other BBS CMS's for their calendars that are missing in IP.Board: 1. Post calendar event as a new thread in a defined forum for each calendar 2. Custom fields, such as a map link or even to add addresses or contact numbers for events. Those additions will make the calendar much more attractive to customers.

Hey all Just a suggestion, which could be easily added with IPB 3.2.3 is a quick way to change between a HTML editor and the normal editor as seen in Joomla. It would make writing articles etc so much easier and more customisable (which is what IP.Content is all about right?) if we could just quickly, and easily add in html code. Just my 2c

As IPS continues to rocket towards the moon, and we see other suborbital craft falling back and burning on reentry, it seems to me that IPS should put more time and support towards developers trying to create converters for, say vbulletin. robert syvarth has had multiple requests for converters so that vbulletin users can convert their groups to his social groups app. Sure, Robert is getting paid when he sells his app but I would imagine that IPS stands to make some big bucks when it sells its core license for the board and other add ons. If these vbulletin board admins are chomping at the bit to make the switch but are holding off because of a lack of converter for a…

I've lost the "Today's Top Posters" hook/feature when I upgraded to 31.1. It was a cool feature, and my members loved it. I've been in contact with other board owners who have been searching for this feature. I think IPS should bring back the "Today's Top Posters" on their latest version of IPS. Or, IPS should add the feature on their Marketplace. I'm sure people will want it for their boards.

Instead of running different topic of showcase forum, why not add special section for it so that admins can post topic for there forums and get suggestion/feedback from other admins? One topic per website for feedback/suggestion/showcase will be nice.

Hello, Why don't you make an option to add new members also with a facebook? In a private community it's required and it would be nice if it could be added to the next version. Twitter, Facebook, etc registrations.

Alright so I plan on this being a rather lengthy topic, however, if you are a developer who is planning on purchasing IPB I suggest you read all of it. So anyway I began developing on Invision powered boards at the beginning of the summer. It began with just simple template edits and tiny tweaks that were easily able to be done. Everything seemed to be working fine. Well naturally I began wanting to use hooks. So where would one go other then the documentation? Now anybody who has ever even glanced at IPS's documentation will know and agree that it is absolute trash. I mean lets just take a look real quick. Ok so there are ~ 70 sections and about 420 articles So …

Is IP.SEO SMART enough to not include threads in the sitemaps that can't be viewed by guests?

It's simple posted, reply and ask many times over from any type of reply from IPS staff and even the CEO of IPS stays post in the feedback form and it will be handled like all feedback (Refer to ticket for more information) .It was stated that there will be new and improve documentation coming (June 2011 from the person whom write them.) Currently that has not been much of any thing updated to the documentation area officially supporting any of the new features or understanding of the software. Xenforo, vBulletin, phpBB have updated information manuals on their own software making them more competitive and strengths their products. So far the most of the focus has been on…

Using the validator at w3.org it finds several errors/improvements. Should consider using it to make sure it works 100% with all browsers. http://validator.w3.org/

I am really impressed with what IP.Board has accomplished in the pas 5 or 6 years (don't really remember when the company started lol). I remember back when I started my web development I started off small and was happy with some of the software that I was using back then A friend of mine that use to work for IkonBoard told me about what Matt was doing here with Invisionboard. I was surprised to see how welll that IP.Board worked back that day support back then was a community of users and even had some official support agents to help out members that have been having some issues. Back then IP.Board didn't have the gallery, blogs, downloads, or even chat or nexus. I reme…

I'm posting this here because there's no "General" forum in the feedback section but it's not only about the board. My licenses will be due for renewal in a week and I just spend (wasted ??) almost 10 minutes on the main web page checking out every single product to find out what's the renew price ? It's a bit frustrating having to search for that information on top of paying ;) I remember having the same frustration when I bought because I had to search every single product to get the prices before decided what I was gonna buy. Why don't you have a simple and easy to consult price list with purchase and renewal prices for all your products ?

After my en masse bug reports, I still have some non-glitch suggestions I would like to add. NEW FEATURES Allow multiple categories within a forum/category, not just on the board index. In the Admin CP where editing a Redirect Forum, add an ability to redirect directly to another forum via a drop-down menu (thereby redirecting regardless of the other forum's URL). In the Admin CP, have the option to create a new forum using a "Base new forum on..." feature, like the "Base new group on..." feature in Manage Member Groups. Have the option to have a category/forum be collapsed by default. Have a "thread preview" pop-up when hovering over a thread by default (not…

I have no idea why this was removed. Sneaky IPB developers....LOL The menu is still there. Just hidden  Solution: http://www.smartestcomputing.us.com/topic/48460-32x-how-to-bring-back-jump-to-page-menu/ I hope it'll be back in next IPB version

As of now in "Forum view" you can see this: All you can do is to click "Next". You can't click on a page number you really want to go to. You can do it in "Forum view": Any particular reason behind it? I wrote a fix for it: http://www.smartestcomputing.us.com/topic/48459-32x-how-to-make-pagination-more-uniform/

Can you guys please add a "Nuke Account" feature? I'm getting really, really sick of constantly switching between two ACP screens and selecting various checkboxes to get rid of posts related to spam accounts and banning those accounts. We are inundated with spammers even after implementing the latest IP.Board anti-spam features. Nuke Account would do the following: Delete EVERY post from the account Ban this member permanently Move from group 'Members' to 'Banned' Ban email address Ban username Ban IP Address Please add this feature as soon as possible. These spammers are incredibly aggravating and seem attracted to IP.Board like flies to light. Thanks!

I'm talking about all those elements with "opacity" set to "zero", which pop-up upon mouse hovering. IPB board looks like a hide-and-seek game board. I'm sure some members are not even aware that some of those items even exist. "Topic preview", "Mod tools", "close-open" button, etc., etc. How anyone can know, for instance how to close/open a sidebar unless one knows, that a button is SOMEWHERE there and after sliding mouse cursor all over, finally: Eureka! On a top of it some buttons opacity is set to something like "0.1" and I almost need a flashlight to see them. All post buttons for instance... Personally, I set all those invisible items opacity to "0.5" and I…

it would be great if we could have the following two options... 1) An admin selectable switch to reset the unread PM notification to nothing - i.e. to allow the admin to decide if (s)he would like to show to users at all times the number of unread PM's. (I keep forgetting to reply to PM's) 2) Allow the admin to set the PM pop-up box as default - currently most other options are selectable as default, but not this. Regarding the second, I would then add instructions/link on the foot of the box as to how to disable the pop-up box if people did not want this, which would also direct people to select other options for themselves.

There's already a mod for this. But . . . Using that mod has convinced me that Google Site Search needs to be made a part of the IP package somehow - either in core, or an official mod. The existing search is probably as good as it can be expected to be (and obviously essential where board permissions are an issue) but nowadays everyone expects search to work like Google. Telling someone they can't find what they're looking for as they're looking in the wrong content type - they'll just look at you blankly. Like it or not, Google is much more likely to turn up the results people are looking for - which is no surprise, they've got more resources and experience in search.…

It would be great if you could adjust which groups could use which emoticons. And whether or not to display emoticons that users cannot use, on the their list. Sort of like a teaser.

For Google+ : - The photo gallery. It's absolutely gorgeous, by all means. Don't know what I mean? Take a look at these screenshots: http://imageshack.us...2011113248.png/ http://imageshack.us...0111132482.png/ http://imageshack.us...1111324822.png/ http://imageshack.us...1113248223.png/ YouTube videos neatly joining into a collage of pictures, the comment button being inside the picture itself to improve the general look and feel, advanced information about the pictures and neat effects, the comment system... Generally, all I can say about it is that it is gorgeous. Including a few of these features in IP.Gallery is not going to hurt anyone. Because frankly, with …

I just converted an application to 3.2, and holy cow. I love the new CSS and skinning. It was incredibly easy to create a 3 column layout and built upon more stuff. The tooltips and badges are beyond fun to play around with. Kudos to all involved in that new system. It saved me tons of time.
