Hi, I asked the question on the Dev board but seeing as that's closed now I thought I'd ask here. Adding a profile field in IPS4, you still specify how it will view, but I can't see a way to get it into the topic view? Any help? Thanks in advance!

I cannot insert ANY existing media anywhere within the suite without generating this error. This happens in posts, blogs and even in the admin when attempting to create anything within there (custom blocks, etc). I've got the latest beta installed and the latest PR of Pages. We are currently doing some skin designing on V4, Beta 3a (early I know) but non the less we are doing some. Everythings being saved under custom.css. Anyway, we wanted to add some images to the forum description but we don't want them showing up on the main forum index. (see below). We ideally want to show the image just here Is this possible? If not, I'll post in the feedback suggestion, to maybe have a toggle switch whether to show images on the main index category description (like an on or off switch).

1. Is there any documentation available on adding blocks / widgets? I see that it has to be within an app. 2. Is it possible to create 'widgetized' area within a theme? I'd like add new sections other than the three existing on the forum home page. Worked it out.

Just upgraded my test site to Beta 3 and the text editor is just greyed out with no tool bar showing and not letting me enter any text. Have I overlooked something simple?

Can I place the datastore-folder anywhere I would want? For example on a shared file system? So I would point it to /nfs/forum/datastore/ for example. It seems I can configure this in constants.php, but the installer seems to require the datastore folder to be writable in the community root, so I'm wondering if that's just the setup script being stubborn or whether there are other areas that doesn't use the value from init.php / constants.php and expects this to be a writable folder in the forum root either way.

I just had one of my tester raise an issue about people showing in the little block on the bottom left of the profiles you are visiting. She mentioned that she seriously would not want people to know that she looked at their profiles or who was looking at hers. I don t see what is the issue really but would there be a way to be able to decide if you want to have people know you visited their profile? Like if I look at Matt's profile it is not because I want to stalk him but if I was looking at some female member I would not want them to think I was a perv or something so I would rather they not know that I was looking at their page. Is this an issue for some of you or you…

I'm trying to customise the default theme and can't work out how to use raw PHP within the theme files. I recall there being <php> </php> tags before, but can't seem to use them in IP.Board 4.0. Any advice would be hugely appreciated.

Hi all, I'm looking for a few people to work with me over the next few days on the Pages upgrade system. The Pages upgrade is a little tricky because the entire JS/CSS and PHP frameworks have changed completely, so custom blocks and custom templates are not upgradeable. However, basic Pages and Databases are fully upgradable and that's where I need some help testing the system. Ideally, you'll have a fairly smallish database that uses Content. You don't have to be a heavy Content user, just a few custom databases with some custom fields is good enough. ACP and FTP access to your sites is appreciated too, just in case I need to dig in on your site to figure something out. …

Why don't u guys start accepting other payment options.. all the other communities and the remaining world has started to accept various payment platform except IPS. we still live with this stupid paypal ! This can be one of the reasons why we are not growing as fast as the other communities..and too many nulled versions arround the internet !

I was wondering if there will be any external tools for advanced users, similar to how we have the tools directory in the .zip for 3x (I note its now moved to the MP though) I was thinking of something to externally rebuild caches and templates if required, as if the ACP is inaccessible this is rather tricky.

I am pleased to see all the little improvements in Pages. Since the app is still in development I would like to repeat a suggestion, that could maybe still make it into the 4.0 release: more filter options. The current versions of IP.Content and Pages only allow filtering for fields where specific options are set within the field itself (through radio-buttons for example). But users expect filtering for other fields as well … Numeric Filters: Fields for dates and numbers could easily be used for filtering and users expect this option. Hi, I need to change the style of displaying the secondary groups for members in AdminCP. Because we are using a bunch of groups for our forum, the list-box is not very usefull for us and also not fail-safe when setting/changing groups for members (which often occurs). For this I want to change the style to check-boxes (as for example vBulletin does). I did some test with hooks, and I managed to write a code- and template hook for showing simple messages. But I cant find the entry for changing the style of the list-box of the secondary groups. I would be very happy to get a little hint how to achieve this... Does anyone has an idea? Looking to move some search elements around. Inside core - front - search - resultStream is... {$result->searchResultHtml()|raw}That function is buried somewhere outside the templating system I suspect. At least I'm not finding it. Each search result is pushed out and structured by that function. If anyone can save me some manual searching of the non-template IPS files I'd appreciate it.

Eventually I decided to do a test upgrade on the smallest board I'll need to upgrade, with 170 000 members and 3 500 000 posts. I'm not sure if it's just that my localhost environment isn't providing enough "computer power" to the upgrade, compared to a real life server enviroment. So far I'm at least seeing quite slow progress. I'm currently on the part where the upgrader upgrades members: «Upgrading members (Upgraded so far: 21000 out of 170705)» It takes approximately 22 seconds for each 350 members, which means that this part will take 3 hours in itself. Is this the normal speed for this part or should I expect faster speed on a live server environment? I guess it'…

Probably not fair to stick this here, and this might have been discussed on the preview site, but this behavior is un-intuitive enough to possible flag as a "bug". Maybe this is a bug? When viewing images in a gallery if one wants to see a larger version they have to slide over to the upper right hover menu and click the diagonal double arrow to bring up the light box. Could we also get the image wrapped in an href to that light box? When I want a larger picture I click the picture; here that does nothing. When looking at the community enhancements section it strikes me as being harder than I think it should be in order to visually know which enhancements are already active. The only separation is the text that says "Enable" if it's disabled and "Disable" if it's enabled. But I feel there should be some additional visual guide on what is enabled here. I feel a different color on the buttons might do it, but it may be hard to decide whether "Enable" or "Disable" should get the green color... Or maybe the buttons should instead say "Enabled" and "Disabled" (with green / red button color) and then a clearly distinguishable toggle icon you could use for toggling.

Has anyone successfully upgraded a Invision 3.4.7 board to 4.0 beta 3? It failed badly with beta 2 and I read a remark that my issues would be fixed in beta 3. That was not the case. Once the upgrade begin I start getting missing columns from various tables. First one: I confirmed that this column is indeed not there. If I hit continue it will fall for similar reasons on dozens of tables.

In English you can use "on", "by" and "in" etc in various places but example in Estonian, those words mean nothing. We don't have prefixes, we have 14 different cace forms instead. Example "on tuesday" is "teisipäeval" (nominative = teisipäev) and it can have 13 different case forms more. In Finnish, there should be even 15 case forms. So, my request is that when formulating sentences, could you guys keep in mind theres linguistic peculiarities and won't use words like "on" individually. Right now I cant translate word "on" because it means different things when formulating sentences. If there's key like x_created_topic_in it can done without any problems. But key on …

I know Beta 3 has just come out and I know the answer will be "when it's ready" but in all seriousness. Is it likely we will receive Beta 4 with the fixes to the bugs that are being reported from Beta 3, this week? We are getting so close to a release candidate, that I know or suspect the 3rd party app devs will be desperate to get to a RC so they can start work on getting their apps upgraded (if they haven't already).
