I'd like to start this topic to get some discussion going on how we'd like to improve IPB 4.0 out of the box performance. Please don't move away from this topic focus (other 4.0 requests should be placed in a separate thread) These aren't necessarily ordered in order of importance, but 1) Better CDN Compatibility with versioned css/js filenames: Current Setup: The current cache url often won't change after you make edits to css/js, which means for us using CDN's that are "pull" cdn's like amazon cloudfront have a bit more difficulty getting fresh files pushed out properly. While I am sure @daniel-son is awesome, I don't necessarily want notifications from him for everything he posts I am following Daniel, but where do I turn off the notifications for him and others I follow and the stuff they post? I don't want to turn off notifications for everything I follow, just turn them off for the content that people I am following post.

Why do i keep getting emails from invision????? Emails like : Eduardo Gop has posted a comment on a file requiring approval, [IF] IPB Shoutbox luis26x has posted a post in a topic requiring approval, Can i buy only license key? Marcher Technologies has posted a bug, [Pages]"This file is now closed to further comments." I dont care and i dont want this messages.I dont want to put invision on spam but this are unwanted emails.

Wow, just came back here to look at what's going on with 4.0. The posting flexibility with content in a post seems to have gone bye bye. There is just BASIC stuff like bolding text. Where do I select the media tag? It seems everything is bare bones now for how you can reply and post? What did I miss? I was even thinking it might be smart enough to embed a youtube window into the post by just posting the link. Nope!

Crazy question about the filter bar that IPS is using, called "ipsFilterbar." Why is it that it's called that if it doesn't actually filter results. I mean, it sorts results based on a certain search criteria, but doesn't actually filter them.

Sorry, I've had a look at can't find if it's possible or not, I'm sure we can do it (if not with URL mapping but some other way) - however, is URL mapping possible? I have a few pages that I'll be creating using the IPB wrapper but I need the backgrounds to be different on a few of the pages (specific to DLC).

In IPB 3.4, what to search follows where the user is in the site. Example. Board Index: Search option defaults to "Forums". In a forum: Search option defaults to "This forum" In a topic: defaults to "This topic". Same is true if you go to ther apps like Downloads or Members. In 4.0 however, no matter where we are, the search always defaults to "Everything". Is this intended behavior ? It is most annoying to have to change it almost everything we search on something.

Hi, Why not implement support for the use of real names in regular accounts in IPB4? The support exists for at least Facebook and LinkedIn even if it needs work ( http://community.invisionpower.com/4bugtrack/facebook-integration-several-bugs-beta-3a-r754/ ). This would be a great feature and IPB would be the only big forum software with the support. The PM and ignore function need to be improved to work more like Facebook and force a selection in the dropdown but this seems like a small mod to the competent developers of IPB. In my view this mod is still needed to solve the bug I linked to above. IPB have great potential for this (I have tried to introduce users with the…

Well. I am not sure if you guys have felt this but Facebook has been kicking the dedicated forum type community in the .... I believe the issues is that 1st no registration is "required" after you have logged in to facebook which almost everyone has, so no log in to go to the different sections inside facebook. Second, the easeness with which people can jump from one section to another, making it seamless and informational whoring. I have seen a couple of communities go down in flames lately. Hey guys! How can I customize the order of the main menu entries? I tried it over AdminCP -> System -> Applications but it didnt fullfill my needs. The menu should look like this: Pages A - Forum - Gallery - Downloads - Pages B I didnt find a way to change the position of single Pages entries - i just find the option to change the order of the apps but with this i get a solution like: Pages A - Pages B - Forum - ... Hello, I always got a problem with the "Mark topics a user have replied", so i turned it off since it was introduced. Since the Preview of IPS4 that i noticed that option is On by default and we cannot turn it off, i turned it on on my board so i could test it if the problem was gone. The result was the Query for that option taking sometime 1 full minute... So i opened a ticket in the support. This problem is solved in IPS4 and they applied the fix to my 3.4 board. But even that way, sometimes the query takes 5 to 10 seconds, which is enough to have some of my members complaing about the speed. Are relational fields coming back? I would love to see a relational field that not only allows you to select records from a defined database, but can also be used to have the user select a gallery image, or a forum topic, and so on.

I haven't installed beta- and am hoping someone who has might be able to answer this question, relating to moderator options on the mobile skin. 1. I would like to see a "Hide" button when editing posts using the mobile version, 2. Can a 'My Content' tab to be added the home page of the mobile version. Are these features already in there?

Explain: If the post (original post) is referred on the same page, just scroll the screen to the quote, and only if the message is mentioned on another page, the redirect happens, it can leave the most dynamic forum for those who want to follow the quotes to accompany posts . Example: The original post is located just above the message that quoted. Clicking on the link "Go to original post" as both are on the same page, should only, scroll up the page and focus on the original post, avoid unnecessary one redirection. After upgrading from 3.4.7 to 4.0 Beta 3a on my test environment I am having a few issues with the AdminCP that I can not figure out. First issue: It has said this all day with nothing changing. How do I restart this or get it to complete? Second Issue: As you can see in the first screen shot the user almaxkiller should have full Admin CP access, but when I log on as that user there is close to no access. Any idea how to resolve that? I have tried deleting the permission set and resetting it with full access and it still does not work.
