It would of been nice to have a facebook style forum feed section on the forum, showing latest topics and images, accessible from a forum header link.. This would be great.. An ios/android app for easy image uploads would be great also..

Sorry but IPS 4 Is not what I was expecting it to be. You can't even search images in gallery anymore like you used to. The older versions were way better than IPS 4. The search in this version also is horrible. I'm sorry but it seems like IPS didn't improve at but is a real let down. I think a lot of people would agree. I was going to recommend you but no way. Sorry for the image below its an old image I couldn't delete.

It's currently not possible to change the title of the "Customizable Topics Feed" and it just says "Topics." It doesn't make much sense because if I customize the feed, I should be able to add a title which would explain what kind of feed it is. On top of that, if I have multiple topic feeds, they will still all be titled "Topics" which is even more confusing. I remember @Matt saying that he was going to do this (that was last year, even before the betas probably) but he never did.

Warning points used to display for each user under their name, and mods and admins could see them under the username for each user. Has that been removed? If yes, can it be returned?

Is this a bug? It can be seen on IPS home/index page subforums have a space then the comma. Example: Subforum1 , Subforum2 , Instead of Subforum1, Subforum2, Anyhow it bugs me, if it is not an official bug. The last Subforum appears to have a comma floating out in the middle of nowhere, and looks bad on my index page. Of course maybe some like it that way, only thing is it is not the way it should be written.

Currently the board index displays the title and last poster of 1 topic. I want to increase it to 3 topics. Any ideas on how to achieve this? I don't need the styling for it, I just need the code that would display 3 topics instead of 1. Thanks in advance!

I understand that the topic title length appears to be hard code limited to 250 characters? I want the ability to limit this. Even though responsive design does its best to fix this, it still doesn't look great and I would like the ability back to limit it.

Only the Forum entry right sidebar is not working properly for us on V4.0 RC1, Default Theme. The sidebar drops to the bottom. Does anyone have a fix to get it to two column? http://fishingminnesota.com/community/ When you go into a forum it works correctly and when you go into a topic it works correctly, it just doesn't work for the forum entry. As the title may point out there is a bit of hell to pay if you attempt these. Example: Try to duplicate a directory in Wamp D:\wamp\www\test-1 to D:\wamp\www\test-2. Now go into D:\wamp\bin\mysql\mysql5.6.17\data and duplicate the mysql directory test-1 to test-2. Now go back to the new root directory D;wamp\www\test-2 and change the conf_global.php with the new information. Hi, I have a live ip board 4.0 forum that I want to copy to a local host for testing. How do I do this? I have followed this guide: https://www.invisionpower.com/support/guides/_/maintenance-and-server-configurations/transferring-community-to-a-new-server-r20 Without success, I can reach the front but when trying to log in I am redirected to the live forum. I have changed the config file but I cannot get to ACP without ending up at the live site. Base URL has been changed. Please help! Regards, Nils

Posts that were previously deleted in older versions (they used to be in a seaparate moderation section where you had the option to permanently delete them) are now back in topics and coloured pink. Even though they're not visible to guests, I need these removing as a matter of urgency, it could potentially cause friction with moderators. How can I execute something in the database to just purge all deleted and hidden posts? I'd sure appreciate some urgent help with this one.

Just two questions 1. Where in the ACP can we find the setting to turn on/off the mentioning users feature in post? 2. We presently use the mod on 3.X to mention user so I am glad to see a native(and hopefully less buggy) built-in aspect However when I try to do a mass tagging(with a bunch of my members names) that I copied and pasted,,,,,it does not tag them. Just posts as plain text. So would we have to manually type them out OR is there a way to copy and paste the user's names to tag them? (This is where I hope either IPS makes it where we can tag usergroups or one of our fabulous devs makes a mod to extend the native @ feature) Thanks!

Hello, How is the Most Online count done. It seems to have a large amount online per day, that do match my visits stats. I had 500 unique visits yesterday. Most online says 375 that was captured yesterday. Most days i am getting 500-600 visits. Thanks

Wait, is IPS allowing people to upgrade their live board to 4.0 RC now? Meaning I won't get in trouble if someone were to report my board for it for being 4.0 RC version? I do understand that support will be limited. Also, I happen to run a wordpress plog on my main domain, with my forums on a subdomain of the main domain. Does anyone know if IPS Connect will work with IPB4? This is a deciding factor on whether or not I will upgrade. Same account connectivity/SSO is amazing to have.

I started building my new site a couple months ago using 3.4.7 but put launching it on hold to wait for the final stable version of 4.0. It seems it is there now or close to but a lot of stuff I'm reading on here indicates to me that it is still pretty buggy and has cut out lots of great features that 3.4.7 had. So I'm on the fence here. Do I continue using 3.4.7 which I assume won't be supported much longer or go with 4.0 and hope for the best. So I guess my question is to people have used both 3.4.7 and 4.0, is it better to just go with 3.4.7 or make the leap to 4.0, or just wait? I'm not in any hurry to launch my site. Thanks.

I thought this might be of use to anyone looking to try out V4 on their existing forum without any risk and on your server - so here's how I did it. As always, make a backup of everything before you start. With this method you do not actually need to back anything up as your original files remain safe, but because I don't want anyone hunting me down because they made a mistake following this guide, BACKUP FIRST.
