Maybe it would be better to say IPB3 is already unsupported. Trying to convert to IPB3 but support basically told me that they don't care if after conversion I lose 100.000 Google backlinks. IPB3 converters redirect scripts are missing a key feature for redirecting a large chunk of old vBulletin URLs. It's a simple fix but support points me to IPB4. Nevermind that IPB4 converters are beta and unsupported. Nevermind that I spent months modifying IPB3 to server my community. If IPB3 is still supported like this site says, an issue like this should be resolved. If it is in effect already unsupported, just tell it straight and save everyone involved the time.

At the moment, a thread is bold and has a dot if there are any unread posts, and not if you have read the whole thing. I think it would be really useful to be able to also see if you have viewed it at all, even if you didn't get to the end or there have been responses since. Sometimes a title can be a bit ambiguous but still interesting, and after clicking it you can realise that you're not actually interested in it, but next time you come back to it, it shows as unread, and you have forgotten that you had already read it, and thus read it again. One needs a crystal ball to know that the "reason" field of a hidden topic is only displayed when you hover the hidden icon... Also, the "reason" field is not logged in the moderator logs. (???) The reason field should be displayed within the forum view, as it was in IPB 3.4.x. See what I mean on my simulated screenshot. It should also be displayed inside the hidden topic. On hidden posts, the reason is displayed, but I would like to see it displayed with a bigger emphasis.

I hope IPS create option to have forum icons hard coded into the board setting. A lot of us are seriously frustrated using forum icon mod that have a lot of problem and basically doesn't work every time installed on a new version of IPB. Thank you.

For example, If you have a forum that has subforums North America -> Canada -> Ontario -> Toronto, how do you deal with the fact that threads that belong in "Toronto" also belong in "Canada"? Look at the below screenshot. How does a user find IPS4 themes? The homepage of the marketplace has absolutely nothing even remotely related to themes. It would be great if the theme category could be made more prominent. At the very least, re-order the category structure so that themes aren't hidden beneath the (and 7 more) link.

It would be awesome if there was a few extra search criteria's into the activity stream. What I'd like to do is to only show comments/Reviews (and in some cases just comments or just reviews) but right now it's either everything or only content items. It would help in determining the places of my site that need a little more focus for activity by seeing what is active and what isn't.

I would like to ask that Matt does not close the bug reports to quickly without any time for me to respond. Not language abstracted - 7 bug report was closed without any solution. There was not any explanation provided of why dropdowns are not language abstracted (see att below). I had to open the next Not language abstracted - 8 ?

This is another step down feature from 3.4 Suppose you have a competitor http://abcdef.com and you add this in blacklist In old version 3.x a if some one want to post blacklisted link then it used not user to let post topic/post and instant pop msg used to show "This link has been banned" or same type of msg. But in new 4.x it let you post but only link is not clickable. but still people can see > copy text > paste in browser to visit.

I think a good feature would be password protected RSS Export Feeds. My Reasoning is because phpBB has it :P no but really. I think it would be a benefit for forum members. You know how some forums have Staff Forums, or Donor Forums. It isn't fair that they can not have an rss feed for their device or feed reader. Forums are a place for conversation and a RSS Feed will allow fast updates when members can not be on the site. Does anyone else in the IP.Board Community think this will be a Magnificent Feature? By using the word Magnificent I can hope to get a bigger response

The system offers a RSS feed for each forum. Cool. But no global feed that shows global activity of the forums... I think it is a lack, an overall RSS feed is the best way to promote a website on other CMS like WP, Drupal and many more CMS that can syndicate contents. A RSS feed with "total activity" should be nice also A fully customizable RSS feed with parameters will be heaven

Since I have upgraded to IPB4 I have notices that the disk space on my server is running out of memory, which is a serious problem. Having a look at the uploads-folder showed me, that the original photos are not resized to the allowed maximum image dimension and then discarded, as it is done with attachments-pictures. They still remain on in the uploads-folder. So for photos wich are shown with less than 1MB as maximum size on the gallery, they are stored with more than 10MB on the server. They are not shown and so they are not useful as pictures, but they are reducing enormous disk space. For the user-experience it is good to upload the photos in the way they get it…

When I filter for all content I follow in my stream it only show the topics I follow, it does not show content from the forums I follow? Why is that?

Go to add a Chat mod as a member and... Can't! No Chat app listed... Have to go to the group, and use "Can moderate chats?" That is a group setting only and is not even in the moderation area, in a group. Seems to be an oversight since no other moderator permissions are set this way, this prevents us from adding individual members. Marked not a bug here, can this please be added? I could create a group, but I simply want to add members and it should be possible. Thanks!

It would be really useful if, rather than all the buttons simply becoming inaccessible, you could pick buttons that would move to a secondary dropdown (similar to how emojis work currently), so users on narrow devices can still access the majority of the buttons if necessary. Also, it would be useful if you could define your own response points, so if you wanted to be able to add more buttons on desktop, so that they would overflow at the current response point, that would be really useful - the default desktop config leaves loads of unused space on 1080p+ monitors that could have more buttons.

In a members gallery, they have it set to sort by title. When initially viewing the gallery it is a descending sort... 9, 8, 7, 6.... If a user overrides this sort to sort by date, then changes back to sort by title it sorts ascending.... 1, 2, 3, 4..... I entered in a ticket and was told this is not a bug, so my question is does anyone find this feature useful? I find this inconsistent. Additionally, it would be great to have the ability back for members or admins to choose the sort order, descending or ascending.... Part 2, would anyone know how to fix this manually by editing the source?

In Blogs settings, there are 0 tag settings. Not even on/off. So everything is inherited globally, meaning... With tags on globally set to open system, tags are on for blogs, no way to turn them off. This is a problem if you don't want blog tags. With tags on globally set to closed system, tags are off for blogs. No way to turn them on or enter the defined tags (specifically for blogs) unless you use the global closed system definitions box which activates them. The global tags box is supposed to be overridden at the app level like for forums, databases, etc., what if those tags do not fit blogs? No way to change. This is just a simple feature request for future versions. I'd really like to have the ability to restrict a forum so that topics can only be replied to by the original author. We've used this method with other forum software to create project log forums. There are already some similar options available, so I'm sure that it's not too hard to code in :). It looks like it's been discussed in the support forums before, so I think this request would be useful to plenty of people.

I recall there being a list up somewhere here showing what the IPS go forward plan was. It was like a priority list and gave us a specific view on the priority list for the IPS Dev team. Is this list still posted here somewhere? I can't find it. I would love some teaser information about what's coming next. I like getting excited about this kind of stuff. Although, I may be more nerdy than most. LOL
