Got this information today from the support: Really? So what is the use of a search engine if users can't find our contents? It is very stupid not to present results to our users for something they are looking for. They won't find what they are looking for and will leave our forums and go to our competitor's.

Following on from For PMs, the "Notification List" setting is disabled, because PMs aren't shown in the notification list, they're shown in the PM list (though this has confused some of our users, and maybe should be clarified in a tooltip or just locked on). However, the setting for "A report is posted" doesn't control whether you are notified when a new report is posted - instead it controls whether the number of open reports should be shown on the report icon in the user bar. I am always quick to criticize IPS so I thought I should also let you know of at least of (of many) positive experiences I've had. I had a very minor issue and told support it was fine if they got to it some time this year. I mostly submitted it because I thought it could also be a bug. It turned out to be a little more complicated than they thought and it needed to be escalated. Less than 24 hours later the problem was resolved and a thorough explanation was provided. Thank you for the fantastic support! If this post is not in a public forum, please feel free to move it to one that is so potential customers can see it.

The pages application is quite nice, but the fact that custom fields are ignored by IPS search really hinders the usefulness of the application. I'm currently trying to build an improved search engine myself, but it is quite a gargantuan task for a guy like me. Are there any plans for improving the search functionality in future IPS releases?

People are asking me often for improved statistics. The stats page is a great way for people to be engaged and find content. SMF has a really high quality and robust one as part of their default setup. I will attach a screen shot as an example. I hope there is something comparable in the works here. Thank you

Hi. I'm using IPS as a gallery site (lensburner.com). It's a huge part of my community. I've recently begun to speculate about users being able to sell their photos that they upload. I bought the Nexus app with high hopes that it could handle such a feature but what a big disappointment it was. The only big part it added (from a user point of view) was the ability to add purchase option to the download app. Will you offer better integration in the future between commerce and rest of the apps? I'm thinking about the ability to add coupons, sales and so on and maybe a way to sell photos directly from the gallery app instead of adding every single photo again in th…

In Gallery albums admins have this setting for users: Can create restricted access albums? Restricted access albums are albums that only the creator and designated users can view I was surprised to see this is by individual member name only. Can you add Followers and Groups please? Followers is a given, and for groups, since that could be confusing to members, maybe the following: Show this album to: Everyone Members only Premium members only (system check if in paid group) Different setting: Followers only With the same ability to add usernames. Something like that! But more privacy options.

First I'd like to mention that the way how translating works in IPS4 is handled very nicely. For example, I love the singular/plural options as well as the quick editing in the frontend. Auto-saving while translating is a great thing to have and also running multi-language sites was never easier. That being said, I still see a lot of room for improvements: Please always allow complete translations of IPS4. Currently, unless you own all addons for IPS4, the translations are not complete. Phrases of addons that you don't own do not show up in the language file. I'd love to see complete language files where you can translate all phrases, no matter if they are actually used b…

Actually, when users submit new contents, we accept it and publish it. But, if users want to modified their contents, how can we do to re-approved it after they are publicate ? (Sorry for this bad english)

Just a quick suggestion but when customising forum icons, I find that conventional images just do not do the job. Is it possible to allow "SVG" files to be uploaded to this field, (And if not can it be made possible?): A SVG file will remain crispy looking no matter what resolution or screen size it is, hence why I am asking.

Hello, I'm loocking for a feature to revalidate accounts. In our good old IPB1.3.1 we had this feature for long 10 years. Function: accounts with broken mailaccounts were manually switched into another restricted usergroup by an admin. This Group only could see a single forum with hints to renew the used mailaccount. Using the same address was possible, because some were only quota exceeded mailaccounts. While validating the new entered mailaddress, the plugin promoted this user back into the active member group. Sorry, I'm not sure what to title this and I could look dumb for posting it here if I'm just not finding the existing functionality. But here goes... I've switched our forum around so that now guests can view some full topics, some titles only in certain areas, and some forum names only (since the topic titles and authors might wish to not have their posts guest viewable). The problem with that is it tells our guests the forum name but then says "no posts here yet". This gives guests the appearance that it's empty so why signup for a forum with several empty areas? I'd really like it still to state the number of posts in that area. That doesn't give away anything right…

Hi all, First let me say that I love the product and the way it works. However, when it comes to getting answers on this forum on customization or even just simple questions, the support feels horrible. One look at the forum sections here will reveal hundreds of questions asked with very little response or none at all. As an amateur coder, this makes it really hard to do even the simplest things. Although I understand PHP okay to a point, these forums use a type of HTML Logic I'm not familiar with and cannot find any guides other than the ones created by IPB which are limited in their scope. The image proxy IPB recent released is terrible.. It doesn't store images properly and every 2-3 days all of the images break even though the source has never moved. I've had to manually edit several hundred threads since I've been using it. I've disabled it and will not reenable it until it's fixed.

Amazon S3 is the paid service. Seams to be that Amazon S3 is shown on the top of the list and this is the type of advertising. Please, apply switch show paid services / hide paid services and put the default File System on the top of the list.

Hi! Today i'm on work for autopublish on: facebook; twitter; tumblr; (this 3 more simple with dlvr) - google+ (a bit more complex, but possible with hotsuite)... and now i want try on pinterest and, maybe, also some others. ok, maybe all is possible with external service + feedburner (hotsuite see as invalid ipb feed), but, imho, a suite like ipb need to have this from default (pinterest from gallery!) etc. also, i think pinterest need to be added in share list. regards

Didn't this setting used to involved going to Paypal and getting one number? Now there is all kinds ot confusing language and many steps. Client ID etc etc. I think there should be a simple guide to aid in walking through this difficult process.

In IPS3, search results returned all topics that included the searched item. In IPS4, it returns all posts. So it the item is mentioned 5 times in specific topic, IPS3 returned 1 result while IPS4 returns 5 results. Is it how it was designed?

Hello, I have just finished my first IPS installation and I wanted to leave a few suggestions for things to improve in case somebody thinks they are of interest. - When executing utf8.php converter (from cmd) as it says the installation process it does't work. I had to move the the folder where the php file is located and execute it from there. - It would be nice to have breadcrumbs in the admin panel, many times when I have to go back and forth I can't do it and I have to start from the beginning all the time. - When creating a menu with external link, it doesn't allow relative urls.
