I would like to see Categories enhanced with a Category Image and Extended Description added. The Category Image would be displayed as a thumbnail/icon on lists of categories, while the Extended Description could be optionally displayed above the listing of subcategories or pages/records to further describe what the next level of the "tree" includes, and prompt the user to drill down further in the structure. Perhaps this could be done with Custom Fields for a Category, in addition to the current Form Fields. It appears that Form Fields is limited to creating input forms for the users, while what I am suggesting is used for displaying the categories themselves.

I've noticed some inconsistency in how multiple levels of categories are showing up in breadcrumbs. My use of categories in Pages sometimes goes four levels deep, and three levels is common. IPS seems to handle two levels of categories fine, but the third or fourth level sometimes "confuse" it. Sometimes my breadcrumbs display:as: Home > Page (with database) > Cat Level 1 > Cat Level 2 > Cat Level 3 > Record While other times it is displayed as: Home > Page (with database) > Cat Level 3 > Record I can't determine why (from just using the GUI) that IPS is getting "confused"...

I'm liking the idea of the Leaderboard but I don't think this has been incorporated into the software well at all. Idea's: 1) Add it as a block and show it off around the site? Most won't even click on leaderboard link. (This way we can show on the main forum too on who is the winner). 2) Add to topic author to show next to topics (next to name or a badge underneath, with link back).

As the Christmas season is upon us I thought it would be great to make some gift packages and sell them to our members for their loved ones. But to my surprise I was unable to do so. The way around this was to simple make 1 product and include in the description and photo of all the items you would get and a price reflecting this. I will now have to include in the invoice what other items are included as well as the shipping. I think this would be a great feature to have over certain holidays that we could make packages that contain more than 1 item (lets say 5) and have them all itemised on the invoice and shipping.

Hi, Would you guys consider adding the multiple quotes function when you select part of each reply in a topic like below? It will be helpful so that when you want to select part of each reply in a topic and add them all at once in the reply box, instead of scrolling up and down. I know there's already the multiquote function now, but that multiquote function will quote each full reply instead of part of a reply.

It would be great to add DKIM support for outgoing mail. This is implemented in the plugin for wordpress MyMail. This is a simple and ingenious solution. This will establish a IPB for more hosts, where there is no access to the mail server settings.

Hello, I was thinking about changing the plugin for autolink titles. My problem is that I don't find a way to place a really nice solution. Why: Simply because I have to replace the autolink plugin of the ckeditor and need a hook that replaces the complete validateLink() Function. I never understood why Statuses are not considered part of the Content Count. They are Content aren't they? Anyway, I'd like to see these Statuses become part of that Number as well.

Hello IPS, I'm not sure if you all have heard this one before, but being able to view who you Follow would be super nice! I run a fairly large website where users post a lot, which really racks up the Notifications if you FOLLOW a lot of people. And members are constantly asking me to see a list of the members they Follow. But the only list available is a list of members who Follow you. I thought it might be a good idea to include a function where Adminstrators or Moderators (or any individual/group?) receive a notification and/or email if a post is made in a particular Forum. This might prove useful if someone has a Q/A Help Forum where the site owners want to make sure questions are responded to as promptly as possible. This, or any other Forum where high turnaround is desired/required.

I couldn't see a generic thread for feedback on the Leaderboard function, so I apologise if I have missed it. My site isn't very busy right now so quite often the daily leaderboard has nothing to show. It would be nice if there were some extra options, for example to either show the past leaders page if there is no leader for the day, or to change the period (for example) to a weekly leaderboard? I wish this feature was around a few years ago, but I don't think time travel is on the IPS development plan at the moment.

when a new version is released it would be nice if there were some "new" flag or link list of updated /new places in the ACP where settings and changes reside. And a way to clear the indicator once you understand and have enabled or adjusted the new settings.

Would be nice to have two features which allow for more in-depth support options. 1. Allow the grouping of support departments. For instance: Dog Department Greyhound Department Golden Retriever Department Cat Department Fluffy Cat Department Short Hair Cat Department 2. Text selection of text in comments/replies result in a nice "Quote This" popup to quote only the selected text in a new reply. But, this doesn't work for content types where the first post is separated from the comments (e.g., Blogs, Bug Reports, etc.). Could you please work on supporting this feature for all posts (including a separate first post on the page)? It seems to be inconsistent from the user's point of view.

Perhaps this is already possible and I am missing it. It would be great if we could select a record image for the list view of articles, but not have that image automatically in the record at the top. It would be nice to have record image and control the layout of it inside the article. Thanks!

Hi All, I was working on a page that uses IPB APIs, and noticed that GET /api/core/members has no way to filter the results. I think that it would be useful to send stuff like member_group_id, google_id or custom fields as a parameter, I guess it's not complicated to achieve and it would make this API much useful.

Inline images in the editor. Images must be uploaded via the site interface. Hi, The mention system is a bit slow and makes the write reduce it's writing pace waiting to show members name list. Could it be possible to write mentions fast, without that "modal" showing members names that auto-mentions when someone clicks over the member name? The idea is that the forum backend, while the post is being submitted, would parse the text and search any "uncompleted" mention filling it with the corresponding link and sending the notification to the mentioned member. I've always liked the Calendar interface for IPB, but also always thought it was lacking some important features. A few ideas: I think it would be great to have a drag and drop interface for duplicating events (which is not the same as creating recurring events) to make things easier. it would be even better to be able to send out notifications and/or emails to all or certain groups/individuals X amount of time before said event And how about pruning? On the main tab of the leaderboard, what do the trophy icons mean? They don't say anything when you hover over them. Also, what does the far right one mean? There is a fourth member listed, but no trophy. These comments are for this site, I have updated yet.

I run IPS 4.1 in Docker containers. Docker has support for handling logs generated by an app in a container. Standard Out and Standard Error are captured by Docker and you can send the logs out of the container to be managed/monitored with external monitoring tools. IPS 4.1 writes errors to files in the HTML root filesystem as individual files. It would be nice if there were a setting to not store these error logs as individual files (or even in the database) but send them to syslog or standard error. Logs for admin actions could still be stored in the database (so the ACP could access them), but also have a setting to send them to syslog or standard output. Thi…

The Leaderboardboard is all messed up on my site when using Internet Explorer 11. I circled the scroll section at the bottom to show how wide it actually is. It is ok when logged in with the same user in Opera.
